Rolando Garza was great. Very professional, respect and kind. He fixed something that he really didn't have to (old wiring and plug) but definitely saved a lot of trouble in the future.

Thank you so much for taking great care of your clients, that means a lot. Not just about your company but about you.

    Thank you.

Very knowledgeable & attentive. Hoping bid will be competitive as there is a lot of work I want done. Highly reccomended so far. This was just for a bid so questions below dont really apply as far as fair price & cost as im still waiting on that info. Items marked are what the bid is for.

I requested a quote for a very straightforward residential sauna installation: a 9kW outdoor sauna heater, existing sub-panel, ~15 feet of conduit, no trenching, no panel upgrade.

I was quoted $2,400 and told that 3-inch conduit was required. After consulting multiple licensed electricians and reviewing NEC / Florida Building Code requirements, this recommendation was not justified for a single 50-amp residential branch circuit. Standard 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC is code-compliant for this application.

The scope and conduit size appeared to be significantly oversized, which inflated the quote well beyond reasonable market rates for Hillsborough County. Other licensed electricians quoted the same job hundreds less using proper, code-appropriate materials.

If you’re seeking estimates, I strongly recommend getting multiple opinions and asking for itemized explanations of why specific materials are being specified.

    EDIT (after company response):
After posting this review, the company responded with an unprofessional and accusatory message rather than addressing the technical concerns raised. The follow-up communication included incorrect assumptions about other bids and escalated unnecessarily after I declined the quote and asked reasonable questions about scope and code compliance.

The issue was never simply price — it was clarity, consistency, and justification of the specifications provided. Homeowners should be able to ask technical questions, compare licensed bids, and decline an estimate without hostility.

    EDIT 2 (after company response):

After I declined the quote and asked basic questions about scope and code compliance, the company chose to escalate further publicly with remarks like “Guess I hit a nerve…” rather than responding professionally.

Regardless of pricing, this confirms my original concern: the issue here is not simply cost — it’s the lack of clarity and the tone used toward customers who ask reasonable questions or choose not to move forward. Homeowners should be able to request itemized justification, compare licensed bids, and decline an estimate without being insulted or placed on a “do not service” list.

On time, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Took the time to explain what he was doing and why. Hoffman put my system in a few years ago and have been taking care of it ever since. Highly recommend this company they're well organized, well staffed and they get the job done!

Diego fixed our issue in no time! He is an extremely courteous and professional young man with a very amiable personality. Top marks for a job well done, I will definitely use Hoffman again if I need electrical work done in our house and I will request Diego to be the technician, treat him well Hoffman, you have an outstanding employee there!

Hoffman Electrical installed my AC unit 4/8/24, I was gifted the 1st one year maintenance plan with my install, however when I tried to schedule a maintenance followup I was told it had expired (they do not call customers to set up maintenance appointments) and I would have to pay for another year to get a maintenance visit.
So I did enroll in another plan.
I was told by the appointment setter that the visit would be $67.50 - after the tech confirmed the clogged drain line and quoted me a $300 service fee and an additional $150 for a “chemical treatment” to correct the problem, I declined the service because it was so expensive. The tech said I still had to pay over $300 for the diagnostic fee when I specifically asked the appointment setter if there would be any other fees other than the $67.50 unless I agreed to the actual work, I was told no. The appointment setter specifically said NO ADDITIONAL fees unless I had WORK DONE.
The HVAC tech proceeded to demand a $300 diagnostic fee when I specifically asked if they will be charges beyond the $67.50 for the technician to look at my system . I was very clear and asked this several times and was told each and every time there would be no other charges unless I had work done, I literally cannot stress this enough.
This place is a HUGE rip off, they are shady with how they charge and are very unclear on how the charges are assessed. If they are going to charge a $300 plus diagnostic fee then they should state that at the time the appointment is set not wait until after the service person has looked at the system.
Beware: The $67.50 is only to get the service person to your house, their manager Steve said the call center people are told SPECIFICALLY not to talk about prices.
Steve told me he WOULD NOT honor the warranty work and put me on a do not service list. My brand new thermostat with their name on it has no power so the unit will not work.

Mike was fantastic! He showed up on time, got right to work, and had our project completed the very same day. His professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail really stood out. This was a great recommendation from Paradise Bay Plumbing, and they were absolutely right. I’ll definitely be using Hoffman Electrical & A/C again — and I’ll be requesting Mike! Highly recommend.

We had the electrician’s Mike Thorpe, Nelson Caro and apprentice Myco out October 20, 2025. They replaced electric panel and wiring because we needed an upgrade from our insurance. They all were very knowledgeable, professional and personable! We are very happy with the job that they all did and would recommend them to family and friends!! The ladies we spoke to making the appointment were very friendly and answered our questions!

My very first encounter with the company was bad, I called Bc I had an emergency, I was told me the operator they had available techs and gave me a window from 3-6. I called back at 3:47, and inquired about the whereabouts of the tech and was told that they had none available and was trying to locate one, this is after I was charged a service fee of $149. After speaking with the operator I request that the service be canceled and the money refunded, I was told the refund department would get a hold of me, instead of waiting, I asked for the customers service number for the refund department and was told it was not available, and there was no manager on site what could resolve me issues. Hopefully it dose not take them seven days to get a. Hold of me or refund my money. I would not recommend this company for you to anyone.

I contacted Duncan Electrical to do a prewire on a new outdoor Pavillion. There rep told me that if I paid $150 upfront I would be a premium customer and that they would start prewire next day. Electrician came next day a gave me an estimate but didn't do any work. He told me if I approved he would start next day. I approved the $4000 project. He then texted saying that he has another project and would start in 4 business days. He was a no show 4 days later. Avoid these guys.

Duncan Electrical Service already did 3 jobs in my house and I'm saving for the fourth one . They are professional, friendly, respectful, clean and always ready to help with something else if it occurred while they are there. I'm not the easiest customer, but they fulfill all my expectations. I will recommend this company to everybody. This picture shows the last job they did for me. Top notch!!

Terrible experience. Service panel replaced with used breakers from various manufacturers. Now billed twice to have the first work fixed by another one of their technicians, who was two days late. Appears to be a front for hiring subcontractors with terrible follow up and does not self perform the work. Received call to pay the second technician from their collection department. Still on waiting on final inspection. Does not appear in the list as electrical licensed contractor on Fl Dept of Business Regulation. EIC number not used on billing.

On a chilly morning, I noticed my home wasn't warming up, so I decided to try out a ductless system. The installation was a breeze, taking just under four hours. Now, the temperature in my living room is perfect, and I love how quiet it runs. The team was professional and left no mess behind. I’m genuinely impressed with how efficient and effective this solution is!
