Home Services reviews in Tampa, Florida

This company has the absolute worst service. They have been taking care of our pool now for a few years and rent us a salt chlorinator. I have noticed that the “check system” light has been on for a while. Little did I know they did not fix the faulty cell, but have just been covering the problem by adding chemicals here and there. Anyway, the pool started turning yellow and I tried to call them last week, but they couldn’t get me a supervisor and couldn’t have somebody come out on a Friday. Meanwhile, the pool is now yellow and even though I pay them $140 a month, my kids were unable to swim in the pool for the past 4 days because of their horrible service. Would not recommend this company. If I could give them less than one star I would.

Very disappointed with Pool Troopers. The technician only stayed for about 10 minutes each visit and didn’t do a thorough cleaning. I canceled my reoccurring service in early October after expressing my concerns. They said a manager would call us about a possible refund for the month of October, but I never received any follow-up. Poor service and communication.
Update 1/26: This company is still sending bills for the following months after canceling. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY -
Our HOA pool was really bad! Always tinted green. Could never fully see the bottom! Sean was hired and cleaned it up so fast! It’s crystal clear now and so inviting! Thank you Sean!!!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Pool Troopers this past week. By midweek, I noticed my pool was turning green, so I patiently waited for my regular Thursday service. However, no one showed up.
By Friday afternoon, I called Pool Troopers, and they assured me that someone was on the way. Just 15 minutes later, I received an email stating that the service was complete, along with a blurry photo as evidence. Suspicious, I checked my security cameras, and to my frustration, no one had visited my property.
Unfortunately, Pool Troopers closed before I noticed this discrepancy on Friday evening, leaving me helpless. We had planned a pool party for the weekend, which we had to cancel due to the pool’s unacceptable state. Not only did they fail to show up, but they also lied about performing the service. My pool is now a dark shade of green, and our weekend plans were ruined.
This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable
*Update 5/20/24: two weeks later my pool is green again. Added an updated picture. Canceling my service. -
We have never had this individual do our pool, today was the first time. He did a fantastic job! He was careful around our plants and very polite. Hope he will become our regular guy.

Christian our pool maintenance person is a fine young man and very thorough. He is friendly and we are very happy with the service he provides!

Pool Troopers has been very good to work with. Our pool cleaner Rafael is wonderful! He does the best job cleaning, putting chemicals and vacuuming the pool. He's always in a good mood and very friendly. He deserves a bonus and/or raise from Pool Troopers. Elizabeth who is answers the phone when I call is also very polite, calm and very friendly and easy to work with and deserves a bonus also!

We have had a lot of rain lately, and the pool was not doing well. The frogs were loving it, but we could not use it. Nick arrived for our weekly service, and went right to work doing everything to fix the problem. It was Thursday, and he knew we wanted to use the pool over the weekend. He spent quite some time making sure he did all he could to fix the problem. He even returned the next morning to check and re-clean everything. The pool was perfect, and weekend pool time was too.

Do not give this company your money! They make high promises and don’t deliver. You spend more time waiting on someone to come out, fixing things, and then waiting for your pool to be clean and chemically balanced enough to swim in than you do swimming in it!
I use my pool year round for leisure and exercise. I could not use my pool this Memorial Day weekend because of the lack of service/attention we got the 1-2 months leading up to it resulted in it looking like a Florida home for Swamp Thing! Talk about a grossly disappointing start to summer. It was not the first time a similar cycle has happened, but it is definitely the worst our pool has ever gotten and the first time we’ve been blatantly ghosted by the company for several weeks.
We have to always call to get attention when things look off, when I’d expect for what we pay - well, that they wouldn’t get “off” in the first place, but I understand rainy season, etc. - that the regular service person would notice and set about fixing it right away. This time we received an email that they’d noticed our pool was looking green and they’d send a manager to come look AND our pool would be ready to swim in 24-48 hours. Five days later, nothing. Well, except maybe an email for a service review?
We called and said we were going on vacation and in two weeks we wanted it clean. We have evidence from our home monitoring that they only ever bothered to send someone out after a week and a half of that two weeks was up. So of course we’re home and it’s no longer opaque green, but it is still a very far cry from swim-able!
Even if the company no longer has the staff or expertise to service us anymore, I would think 13 years as a loyal customer would earn us an apologetic letter saying they could no longer meet our needs, instead of trashing our pool and then ghosting us. -
The young man was extremely nice and very professional. We did chat for about two minutes. Apparently he just started with the company. Pool Troopers has been with us for many many years and never had any issues whatsoever. Keep up the good work and hiring. Great employees!! Anthony DeCastro.

I am very disappointed in the service I’ve received. I recently had my pool re-marcited, and Pool Troopers agreed to brush the pool three days a week. I was told on Thursday that another technician would be coming out to brush and balance the pool.
No one showed up on Friday. I called at 2:00 p.m. and was told someone was on the way. I called again at 4:45 p.m., right before closing, only to be told that no one would be coming after all.
This level of service is unacceptable, and I am extremely disappointed with Pool Troopers. -
Joel has been servicing our pool for some time now. He is extremely polite and professional, and does a very thorough job. He is very kind and a pleasure to have at our property. Joel is a wonderful guy.

We have had Pool Troopers servicing our pool since last August. Since May 30th, our pool has been green for all but about 10 days. We have had 3 different pool techs in the past 6 weeks, along with a supervisor coming by, but this pool will not clear up and stay clear! The tech who came last week told us to spray off the filter and brush the pool once before he comes back this week. We have done that and it is more green than ever. I am about ready to FIRE this company!

Their favorite phrase is "this is not typical" "this is not standard" for the experiences we've had with this company.
Issues began in June -July 2025 when pool went green in spite of paying this company for weekly maintenance. They claimed they had an issue with a technician and a new office was taking over the route. It took 3-4 weeks to address the issue - going from cloudy back to green to cloudy again. In the meantime, the technician set the pump to run continuously for several days to help address the issues.
The pool finally got cleaned up mid July, but in October I contacted TECO because in spite of putting in a new AC unit, a new sliding glass door and a new clothes dryer, my power bill was still very high. The auditor came out on 10/31/25.
Earlier that day, the Pool Trooper supervisor, Danny, had been by to change the O ring on the pump (I saw him and spoke with him as I work from home). When the TECO auditor and I went to observe the pool pump, we noticed the pump leaking profusely. I called Danny, who advised me to turn it off over the weekend and he would address it the following Monday 11/3/2025. When he came back out, I asked him about the pool pump timer, which he checked and confirmed was still running 24 hours a day. He adjusted it down to run 6-7 hours per day. I decided to cancel the service after that, considering between the pool going green, the pump running continuously for several months, and the o-ring pump leak, the company practices cost me much more than what I was paying them to maintain my pool monthly.
Kyle, the regional manager, offered me 2 free months when we spoke about these issues on 11/24/2025 but I declined, afraid I would only continue to have to babysit them. In spite of canceling the service, they took me off their route but withdrew my monthly payment for December, and although I''ve made 3 requests for a refund, I am still waiting. I also asked for compensation, having provided them proof of the increased consumption, but in spite of what Danny said when he stood in front of me and looked at the pool pump, both he and Kyle changed their stories during our later conversations, stating there's no way my pump will run constantly for over 24 hours and it reverts to the standard timer after one day. After I retraced the steps with him in detail and reminded him that we were fighting the algae for weeks, he acknowledged that he deals with hundreds of pools in a month may have recalled incorrectly. Kyle, the regional manager, who has never been to my home stated very confidently over the phone what Danny had done, and why they were not responsible for the increased electric bills. In any case, I am done.
If you dont want to babysit your pool company, don't hire Pool Troopers. -
Frank is absolutely AMAZING! Knowledgeable and caring. He takes pride in making sure my pool is clean ( and beautiful too )! He alerts me if anything is not as it should be regarding needed repairs or concerns!
He’s been an absolute pleasure to work with regarding taking care of one of the most expensive assets of my home!
Thanks Frank!
