I’ve been following this company for a while at this point. Once I bought my house, I had them over for a consultation about directing water drainage as we sit in the middle of hill where other houses sit above us up the hill just making our rainfall water drainage situation worse.
Community Foodscapes came out for their consultation and throughly walked our property and our plans. We had already started a swale to direct water and Mike assured us we were going in the right direction.
We were dealing with water intrusion in our crawlspace and he even went down there to see what was going on!
We ended up not being able to use them for affordability but they offer a number of ways to get your project accomplished at different price points.
Mike kindly answered my questions even though we didn’t hire his crew.
I would recommend ANYONE to Community Foodscapes - I love the concept and getting better native habitats in our city than boring old lawns. They also can help with water drainage in your yard - we live in a very rainy city so this is a must! Thank you Mike for all the knowledge you shared with us!

Community Foodscapes is the BEST! We are so happy to have found them in our time of need. Our backyard takes on significant water during heavy rains, and CoFo came to the rescue after we had been failed by other companies. Mike and his team completely changed our backyard and solved our drainage issues with a creative and gorgeous rain garden. We also couldn't be happier with the quality and care his team took building our patio and the overall project and redesign of our yard. Community Foodscapes helped me improve my backyard and is helping me with plant maintenance regularly. So far, they've had reasonable pricing, and the plant/bed installation was great - easy to arrange, and the end result is very nice. I really like the maintenance team as well, and appreciated the knowledge they brought to all the things in my yard - plus they managed to remove ivy on a tree I have that I've never been able to fully kill. Highly recommend, looking forward to continuing projects.

Everyone at Community Foodscapes is so nice and knowledgeable. It's been a great process from beginning to end! They were always on top of communication and answered all of my questions pretty quickly. I wanted to turn my backyard into a more pollinator-friendly welcoming space that makes better use of the land. Mike came out and gave some estimates, in addition to teaching me a lot about my existing space and which plants are native/edible. The installation crew was great as well, they completed everything in a day and did a fantastic job. Thanks!

The Community Foodscapes team members did a great job installing my raised metal beds and trellises. I am so looking forward to planting this spring! This is the second project they have completed for me. Last summer they created a dry creek bed and rain garden to help manage water run-off during storms. They do great work and have such good attitudes and care for the earth.

Around this same time last year, I was exasperated and pretty hopeless about my landscape. I had water issues in my basement that I understood could be fixed via landscaping - and two failed attempts to connect with a landscaping service who could get me a plan and a budget, let alone show up.

Today, my love affair with my lawn is on- it’s my favorite place. When I connected with Mike and CoFo, he took a plan, brought it to meet my budget and preferences, and scheduled a crew in about 10 days.

The crew worked tirelessly for 2 weeks in August heat to finish phase one. They even loved on my puppy who decided he needed to supervise. Did a large installation of plants and hardscaping… and did indeed fix the water issue.

They’ve just returned and finished phase 2 and it’s amazing. Once again, the crew was on-time, friendly, (remembered my pup and were so lovely with him) and truly care about the work the do — and it shows.

As a new lawn- keeper, I have a million questions, most basic, and Mike always takes the time to answer. Even doing research when something new comes up.

Will be calling CoFo for phase 3 in the fall! In the meantime, I’m glad I have the opportunity to stay in touch via their events.

The Community Foodscapes crew exceeded my expectations! From design to implementation they were thoughtful, creative, thorough, and timely. They installed raised beds, drainage, and all edible shrubs and trees. Mike and the team carefully recovered existing plants for donation and relocation. I am thrilled and can’t wait to get moving on our next phase!

We had a great experience with Community Foodscapes. We envisioned low maintenance landscaping with lots of perennials and that is what Andrew provided in the sketches. The install team was also great and made sure we were okay with the placement of everything; and they did an excellent job of maintenance weeding around our hydrangeas and side yard.

Welcome to the SW side and thank you for going above and beyond to honor the overwhelming response to the tulip bulb post! We picked ours up today and look forward to seeing them bloom this spring.

Update: we have now worked with Community Foodscapes for 2 years and they're helping to transform our backyard property into an serene, beautiful orchard following the plan that they designed for us. They recently planted 9 trees and 8 bushes. All came in beautiful, healthy condition.

This multi-phase project is transforming our lifestyle as well as our backyard. Thanks to Community Foodscapes, we are spending more time outdoors and can envision a future where we produce more--or most--of our own fruits and vegetables. Highest recommendations!!

The entire team, from design to implementation, were fantastic to work with. Mike and Demond understood our needs and helped us create a plan within budget. Once on site, Topher and crew were super flexible and collaborative in executing the plan. They're knowledgeable and passionate about what they do and it shows in the work. I recently called Jon in to design the landscape for my front yard. He put together an excellent design in a timely manner. I plan to work with him when we move forward with the project.
