Contracted to have drainage issue resolved . WHen we called him back to show flooding in backyard and water in basement , I learned the drainage boxes and pipe were not done across backyard..only a black plastic drain going down side of yard and above ground!! He removed a large piece of flagstone and put in a french drain in 3 foot area. Of course that was only a bandaid to our drainage issues. We paid him over 40k and he doesn't return calls. Not only has he taken my money and left me with a mess, but now I must spend more money on legal action against him.

SLD provided landscaping design recommendations for our 1/2 acre lot in Canton, GA. Jonathan was friendly and knowledgeable and we were very happy with the final results. I would definitely recommend this company.

We are in the process of building a home and needed consultation on landscaping and our driveway. Jon was quick to respond to our calls and texts,
not to mention extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions. When asked for references, he pointed us to some of the most stunning landscapes in the Vinings area. We will absolutely work with Southern Lanscape Design again!

Jon came out as an expert consult to look at our trees. We had multiple trees that we suspected were dead and/or diseased. He came out in a very timely manner and gave us a diagnosis. Shortly after, we were able to receive a permit from the City of Atlanta to remove all of the affected trees. It was a very quick and easy process.

Jon worked with us on our property right after a hurricane ravaged our area. He was always on time and on budget. If you're looking for a solid design and fantastic installation, SLD is the company to call.

Jonathan did a great job of coming in and helping with a design and build renovation of our back yard. We had a sever slope and we wanted more usable space through grading and hardscape. Not only did the team give us all of that and above, the yard is beautiful.

I worked with Jon on an interior project and was very impressed with his work and work ethic. Interior finish work is very detail oriented and it was awesome to work with someone who pays attention to that detail. Loved working with Jon and would happily work with him again in the future. As noted above, I believe the service was good quality and a reasonable price, delivered professionally and responsibly. As a habit, I do not provide recommendations, but in this case I felt compelled to do so.

During the pandemic, many homeowners decided to upgrade interiors or exteriors of their homes. Accordingly, it was difficult getting tradesmen to respond and provide reasonable pricing and offer comprehensive services. The ones that often did respond bordered on con men.
Jonathan Beam and Southern Landscape Design stood out heads above the rest during the planning stage and execution stages.

During bid and planning, he showed up when he said he would, listened intently, took measurements, delivered a detail design plan and a corresponding detail cost breakdown that beat all prior bids in attention to detail and cost. And that was before he even started the work.

Execution - He began the work as scheduled and he and his team completed 95% of the work within three days (the remainder was agreed upon to be completed over time). The work involved aspects of landscape design (plants, pathways, and stone), minor fencing (carpentry) repairs, and drainage. He provided excellent and varied recommendations for planting. When he was confident of his recommendations he stated so; when he was asked to opine on aspects outside of his area of expertise he also stated so. Therefore, a straight shooter, not trying to sell you a bill of goods. During the process, he became personally invested in our job (it was small by his and most standards) making tweaks, bringing in additional plants, showing up after hours to personally do planting.

This Company and the owner are a pure pleasure with whom to do business. I recommend him highly for any project you wish to undertake. Best customer experience I have had in years.

I am very impressed with the quality of work we received from Jonathan and his crew. They removed a huge 25 year old river birch tree on our family farm. The tree was right between our house and pool!! It was a very dangerous procedure but his team took it down without any problems. We were so thankful for the quality of work at a very reasonable price and they cleaned up every bit of the mess. We really appreciated their professionalism.

We had a serious drainage and erosion problem in our side yard that had started to threaten the foundation of the house! Jonathan came out and added a drain box in our driveway to catch all of the water and send it to a creek in the back yard. They buried about 150 feet of pipe to do it. Works amazingly!

I Can’t say enough positive things about SLD. Every project is completed with a personal touch, and always going above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied. These guys are truly experts in their field. It’s good to have someone you can trust.

Contacted the company using their automated system on their website back on February 1st and still have not heard back. I even received a confirmation email that my service estimate request was received. Very disappointed as they have excellent reviews which is not reflected at this time. Will have to look elsewhere.

Never showed up to do my project, called and left messages several times. They finally called and said they would be here to do the work August 14th of 2023 and never showed. Wouldn't return phone calls! Very disappointed!!
