Very quiet, serene, nicely maintained trails & feeders

Beautiful gardens and free to use

I started volunteering here. It’s so great to be out in nature.

An urban sanctuary right in the heart of the city (walking distance from downtown Decatur) where it's easy to forget the traffic and noise under the lush tree canopy. This public garden also has some of Atlanta's champion trees and the prettiest wooded trails!

Very very peaceful. Even though small, it is worth visiting. A small gem. There is a small venue to have a small gathering to celebrate a birthday, a wedding and so on. The entrance is easy to drive in and there is parking. Just enjoy.

So it's a very pretty, very little place to visit but two things: the parking sucks and the mosquitos are UNREAL. We went in the late afternoon, wore Off! And still got mauled by the little bastards. We're pretty avid hikers, we visit state parks regularly and it was shocking how dense the mosquito population was.

Beautiful hidden forest in Decatur. They have plant labels and educational guides, well-maintained trails, and lots of places to sit and have lunch. They also have frequent events (yoga, music, bird walks, workshops), with the forest's natural beauty as a backdrop.

Walked through the Garden with another elderly lady. A beautiful natural setting with paths that are easy to walk on. We will go back when more shrubs and flowers are in bloom.

Relaxed with some seating near the entrance area. Mulched paths and many accessibility and aesthetic upgrades. No dogs allowed. That is a little discouraging for dog owners because walks usually include walking the dog for us.

Beautiful, serene, and full of native plants, keystone species, and Champion trees of several varieties.

Wasn't really feeling it. That being said... my wife dragged me here. Not my kinda place. It was free. Had walking trails. Had certain plants marked with a sign. Cool benches. Ummm really we went too early in the season for things to be in full bloom. Staff was very friendly. You can only make a right when leaving.

Awesome little wildlife refuge between two busy roads. The owners of this land set it aside to be free of development in perpetuity, so people, animals, and birds can enjoy its shade, flowers, and trees forever.

Well-kept, small, Woodland garden. Perfect for a peaceful, short walk with children.

Wonderful, quiet place in the middle of busy Decatur. 7 acres of quiet and wildlife. Great for meditation, exploration, and teaching/learning about outdoors.

We went to a storytime here with my 3 yo, which was very nice and they built a fence with sticks after the story. The kids loved it. Staff were above and beyond friendly and helped me several times with maneuvering the stroller over some of the terrain (I have 1 year old twins also).

If i ever get a chunk of land I might make one of these too.

Its like trail walking through the woods and even though its small it seems way bigger and a way longer walk around.

The animals are pretty much used to humans at this point, so the squirrels and birds just go along doing thier own thing not paying you any mind.

There's even a bird watching station.

I didnt get to see everything in bloom yet, as its still early in the year and the weather has been bi-polar confusing all the plants and bugs, but Ill be back soon to take some pictures of all the plants and flowers they have!

Visit this spot if you're close, them go have lunch at little 5 points.

Pretty and quiet nature getaway convenient to our home. Pretty remarkable that it's cooler and quieter in such proximity to a major intersection and apartment building. The trail it's clear without being obtrusive. Parking isn't ample, but then again there were no cars the Saturday afternoon we went. Bring bug spray!

Absolutely lovely! Quiet and peaceful with beautifully maintained paths. Many plants are labeled. There is a bird garden with feeders and a journal to record what you see. Thank you so much!!

This is a great little hidden gem in the area. It’s peaceful and well maintained. We love plant sales as well since lets us add native plants that are hard to find to our own garden.

Decatur is grateful for the family's support in providing this unique woodland space for the city. Excellent opportunity to explore a woodland space to explore and learn about plants and trees. The facility hosts a great plant sale too.

Quaint, easy trails, nicely wooded. Limited parking but this place is never crowded anyway.

Wonderful wooded setting of native Piedmont flora. Music In The Garden features talented local musicians in the spring and summer.
