It's a daily delight to look outside our windows and see our new and well designed landscape/yard! Beto transformed our previously overgrown yard and made it into a clean and beautiful environment which we will enjoy for years to come. He is knowledgeable, responsive and offers great perspective/ideas. He works with your budget and offers a plan(s) that allows for additions in the future. He cares about his clients, has great recommendations (for other services, if needed) and gives instructions on maintenance which I highly appreciate since this is our first home/yard!

Beto did an amazing job designing our whole yard landscape. He listened to what we wanted and worked within our budget. His installation crew and recommended contractors also performed excellent work. We are very happy with the results! Highly Recommend

Beto and his team recently overhauled my yard and I am extremely happy with the results. He replaced 2 landscape timber retaining walls with interlocking block and regraded, sodded, and mulched the space. It looks great and increased the curb appeal of the home significantly. What really stood out was his customer service and individual attention. Beto was willing to field questions, walk through the plan and alter some things to do what is best on the fly. He even talked to the neighbors and coordinated with them. Great guy. Great company.

I was able to be present for the planning but not the implementation of the plan because I live hours away but I had no need for concern. The implementation exceeded my expectations of the plan. Such a pleasure working with this team--from the designing to final touches. They care about what they do and pay attention to the details. Most grateful.

Extremely Unprofessional – A Total Waste of Time

We had an extremely frustrating experience with this landscaping company. After working closely with us to create a design — one they drafted and agreed to — Beto suddenly backed out of the contract, claiming the project no longer “aligned with their vision.” This makes absolutely no sense, considering the planting design was drafted by their company.

Although Beto personally took over the project on March 14, 2025, after the design was created by their staff landscape architect and approved by all parties, Beto wanted a follow-up meeting. Beto canceled this meeting the day it was to occur and then wanted to set it up again to discuss the design vision, which was confusing since we had an approved, drafted design and detailed contract for all plants and materials. This meeting ultimately took place 6 ½ weeks later on April 30th. Beto arrived unfamiliar with the details of the signed contract and drawn plan although he had weeks to review it. My wife told him directly that she was "pissed off" that he did not have the correct design after weeks of waiting to start. She did utter a f-bomb after Beto said he was unaware of design changes because he did not have access to his company e-mails regarding the modifications; he was essentially putting the burden of knowing the contract details on his client rather than himself, which is what upset my wife. After this initial interaction, they appeared to have a productive meeting. She did apologize in writing to Beto that day for her initial frustration, but still was bewildered as to why he did not seem aware of the contractual details. Within two hours after this meeting, he cancelled the contract via e-mail, shortly before he was to start the installation. Though we understand that having a client show frustration is not desired, proper preparation that includes knowing what is within an approved contract would have allowed the meeting to run smoothly.

Backing out at this stage, after weeks of planning and communication, is completely unprofessional and speaks volumes about how unreliable this company operates. Beto was also dishonest in that he indicated in writing that he had refunded the design amount we had paid, but this was not the case as he had done nothing to issue it at the time of cancellation. The refund was provided, but it required us to take the initiative as he had not bothered to set the refund in motion as he had communicated.

If you’re looking for a landscaper who honors their commitments, communicates honestly, and takes accountability, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Save yourself time, stress, and disappointment.

Full disclosure, this is an amended review given additional context that Beto provided in response to the original review. At the end of the day, Beto came unprepared lacking the final design and plant list. My wife was indeed frustrated and could have handled things differently and she apologized as such. However, cancelling a contract at the last minute absolutely warrants a negative review. There is nothing misrepresented in this review.

Like waking up at a resort every morning!

Thanks to Beto and his team, we can now walk barefoot across a perfect lawn.

We were referred to Beto by a neighbor and had already admired his work around the neighborhood. From the start, he stood out—not just for his landscaping expertise, but also for his thoughtful guidance on things like drainage, sunlight, and slope. He actually talked us out of spending more money!

He helped us understand what was possible within our budget and suggested a design with a different grass variety that looks so much better than what we had—and it’s also cheaper and easier to maintain.

One thing we especially appreciated was his honesty. Instead of promising grass where it wouldn’t grow, Beto pointed out how the shade from our tall backyard trees would prevent lawn growth in one area. His solution? A clean pine straw border that looks intentional and tidy.

We’d worked with his team before to restore a dry creek bed in our backyard. That experience was fantastic—they reset all the stones and restored the proper grade after years of erosion. Their attention to detail on that project made it easy for us to trust them again with our full lawn renovation.

Over just two days, they were able to transform our yard—which had become a mess of weeds and moss. They regraded the area, removed overgrown shrubs, laid fresh sod, and reshaped the overall layout into something truly beautiful. They even refreshed the gravel fire pit area and cleaned up our existing flower beds—relocating a few of our shrubs to spots that made much more sense visually.

Communication throughout the project was excellent—clear, timely, and friendly. The crew was punctual, hardworking, and treated our space with care and respect.

Everything was completed on time, exactly as quoted. Even after the project wrapped up, they returned to patch a fungus-damaged area in the front yard. They laid fresh sod, watered it in, and then left the driveway spotless!

We truly cannot say enough good things about Beto and his hard-working, meticulous crew.

Beto is incredible. The landscaping job looks wonderful and his attention of customer service is a 10. Highly recommend.

We had a great experience working with Designed Landscapes. Their quoted project was completed on time and on budget, and the work turned out looking great. I appreciate their communication, and they were available to answer all of our questions. We look forward to working with them again on our next project.

For years, we dreaded going into our muddy, sloped backyard—it was the least favorite part of our home. But Beto changed that in one week. He and his team completely transformed the space into an oasis (and occasional wiffle ball and soccer field.) Throughout the process, Beto was detailed-oriented and exceedingly helpful. He answered every question I had and stayed within our budget. Now, instead of avoiding our yard, I go out there every chance I get (currently writing this while sipping my coffee and enjoying the view). You won't find anyone better. Highly, highly recommended.

Highly Recommend – Excellent Landscaping Company That Fixed a Mess!

I can’t say enough good things about Designed Landscapes. After a disappointing experience with another landscaper, Designed Landscapes came in and completely turned things around.

They took the time to understand what went wrong and offered us several smart, cost-effective solutions. Their team was professional and clearly skilled and it took the time to do things the right way. The final result exceeded our expectations — the yard looks fantastic and we’ve already received so many compliments!

Beto does a Fantastic job with our planters. He has done hardscaping for us in the past which was amazing and now takes care of our landscaping periodically. He is very knowledgeable about it and the planters always look awesome.. his staff will send me reminders to make sure that the plants are take care off in terms of cold weather and watering. I would use him without any hesitation for any landscaping needs!

He does a fantastic job of listening to your needs (low maintenance and green space was important for us) and quickly adjusting design as needed along the way. We used Beto to transform our yard post house renovation. He came up with the design and picked perfect plants now in bloom and looking great. His team re-purposed some boulders dug up from our renovation and incorporated into their installation. We wouldn’t use anyone else.

We recently had work done by Beto & his team. Prior to our decision to go with him, we met with 3 other very qualified & impressive landscape designers.

Initially, upon researching Beto's company, I loved the fact that he is originally from Brazil (pinged my heart as my father was an immigrant from Greece,) teaches at Emory University & takes deep pride in his work. Upon meeting him & Jay in person, we were so impressed with Beto's confidence, suggestions, knowledge, & assurance. We could tell immediately that he cares & wants to do the best job possible for his clients. Without hesitation, he won us over.

This whole process with Beto in the lead, has been so enjoyable. Though we made some tweaks to his original design, he made all of our visions & requests come to fruition. We have 2 additional projects coinciding with this landscape design. Beto was pivotal as he made excellent suggestions for both. Those recommendations have really made our other 2 projects even better. Working with him, Jay, Beth, & their strong & HARD-WORKING team of 3 to 4 men, has truly been such a joyful experience. They just completed the work yesterday & will be back on Monday to give us the 411 on our sprinkler system & other information. I will take photos & add to this review soon.

We needed help with our front yard and this group worked with us to provide the inspiration and execution we needed. The yard is well done in such a manner as to pull the eye up from the street to the front door. We love the design and the plants chosen. So pretty and welcoming!

I hired Beto to transform by backyard, and that’s exactly what he did. This included building an outdoor kitchen and lots of landscaping. He helped us pick out materials and plants along the way. I get compliments from everyone that comes over now. Here are a few pics of the aftermath.
