After we had our back deck replaced, Neal came in and completely redesigned our landscaping from the ground up. He worked with us to come up with a plan to address the persistent drainage issues we had been having in our yard including grading, French drains, and dry wells; he cut new flower beds and selected low-maintenance plantings for us that will look great year round; and he added hardscape to maximize the use of our yard and deck for us and our young kids. The results really speak for themselves, and his pricing was very reasonable.

The best part about working with Total Lawn Inc. is that Neal is there from the design phase through the actual work. He doesn’t show up to sell you a bunch of expensive yardwork and then disappear – Neal is on site every day working with his team during the actual install. His expertise and experience was apparent throughout the process. He even went above and beyond in helping manage and assuage a difficult and intrusive neighbor! It was a joy to work with him, and I would strongly recommend him to anyone needing any sort of landscape work.

Neal and the total lawn team were absolutely incredible. Neal gave me great ideas for landscaping but was easy to work with and always let me choose what I wanted. However I found whatever he suggested was the best idea! Incredibly satisfied with the service and will use again the in the future for other landscaping projects. 10/10. Can’t recommend enough.

We had previously had a bad experience with another group that sodded our front yard, and ended up having to redo the job. We called three groups. Of the three, it was Neil that took the time to passionately and convincingly share his expertise. He was clearly the choice for us. And he proved us right. He and his team arrived promptly, worked hard to prepare the yard, installed the sod, contoured the lawn to follow the curve of our island, and transformed our yard. In the days after the new lawn was placed, we have met neighbors we didn't know we had, who stopped to complement Neil's work. We now have one of the prettiest yards in the neighborhood. If you are debating on using Neil or another company….go with Neil, you will not regret it. Firstly he gave us an amazing design for our poor backyard. It took them 4 days to install 3 retaining walls, artificial turf, 5 truckloads of dirt, mulch, pinestraw, sod in the front yard, multiple plants and 2 magnolia trees. These guys are absolutely incredible and some of the hardest working crew I have ever seen! Worth every damn penny. You better believe when we get ready to update the front yard I will be giving them call. Thanks for making our back yard a dream!

I truly cannot overstate the results we got from Neal and the rest of the team at Total Lawn Inc. Our backyard was not only an eyesore, but completely unusable. Ivy and brush as far as the eye could see, 30+ large trees, absolute forest. Neal turned our yard into one that you only see in magazines, and made every step of it easy and seamless for us. He worked very hard to stay within our budget, and managed everything from tree removal to cleanup.

Our entire neighborhood looks better, we are getting constant compliments from the neighbors, and a few have told us we’re the talk of the community because of Neal’s work. Sincerely the guy changed our lives, and what was the worst part of our home is joe the best. Thank you Neal!!!!

We could not be happier with the great job that Neal from Total Lawn Inc. did on our yard. We had to replace our driveway and to do so, several trees and established bushes had to be removed. Neal presented us a detailed drawing of what he proposed which including numerous trees, bushes, a retaining wall, stone enhancements, etc. Neal is very knowledgeable and the crews that assisted him were hard working and considerate to clean everything before they left. We would highly recommend Neal for any landscaping needs you have.

Total Lawn Inc. took our description of our overlook and transformed it into a lovely place for family gatherings. Neal completed the work in two days, much quicker then we thought, and we stayed on budget. Neal has vision to create, from rough thoughts and descriptions by us, a beautiful complement to our home exterior. I love what Neal and his team did to our home.

Neal and his team at Total Lawn Inc. were an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish! It's rare to find a contractor these days who truly takes pride in his work, treats your home like his own, and follows through on everything he said he was going to do. He met every expectation and more. From our initial meeting and first estimate we knew this was the right company for the job. The pricing was very reasonable, fair, detailed, and comprehensive. In fact, I had priced the same plants months ago in anticipation of this job, and what he quoted was right in line and surprisingly less than what we anticipated. So much so that we decided to double the project scope and had 20 trees installed. His communication was prompt and clear, answering all my questions, making changes quickly, and providing recommendations. His team arrived exactly when he said they would and got to work right away. I was impressed at how many trucks and equipment he had, and all of it labeled with his company. There is really a difference in a company that excels and specializes in this level of work and not just anyone who claims they can do something and rents tools they are not competent using. Neal was on site the entire time and leading all of the work, which again is not common anymore. Throughout the entire process Neal kept me informed and involved. We discussed layout in great detail as he used colored flags so I could see exactly which trees when where, and he was very patient as I tweaked the layout. He was very honest about what would work and why and really respected my opinion. I never felt rushed and once the layout was finalized I felt confident it was going to be amazing. Within the first hour our yard was transformed as the area was leveled and new soil brought in and spread. My 2 year old was mesmerized as the team worked (and so was I) especially when he began to dig the holes with the auger attached to the Dingo. I could not believe these large holes for trees were being drilled through our challenging soil in seconds! Nearly 18 of them in less than 30 minutes. Worth every penny. As he and his team planted the trees one by one we watched our yard completely transform. Our neighbor who recommended him was doing work at the same time, and Neal was able to plant so that each side complemented each other. With our open metal fence, it actually appears that we have more trees than what is on our side because of this coordination. Neighbors walked by in total disbelief at the level of work going on and quick transformation. Neal explained the care needed before leaving. We all stood in awe of the work accomplished yesterday, and I cannot express how thrilled and pleased we are. We are already dreaming up future work and are looking forward to working with Neal again!

It has been 96 hours since I called Neal and a major transformation of my property just happened. Our major issue was our dog had dug a cavern under the foundation of our house and that was one of four reasons our home insurance cancelled our policy with two weeks notice. All were fixable issues and we were told the policy could be reinstated if they were resolved, but we had to work fast.

Neal happened to be in the neighborhood adjacent to ours and was able to come by same day. We had some other drainage issues that needed attention as well, and some general dying plants and areas that couldn't grow grass. Neal went into design mode and let me know all of the cool things we could do with the existing landscaping we had.

He came by the next day to shore up his estimate, and that is when a competitor that I had requested a quote from three days prior showed up to make an estimate.

The next day he let me know his crew had finished early and could start pulling out the dead stuff, so off we went. Three days after the initial contact the real work began. A crew of six and trucks that lined our small street descended upon our house and made things happen. What I was told would be a 3 day job was finished in 2 as today a smaller crew was able to complete everything not done on day 1.

I've switched my ongoing maintenance to Total Lawn and trust Neal to take care of my lawn as if it was his own.

I still haven't received the quote from the competitor.

Neil and his team did an awesome job on landscaping and drainage work at our house. Crew was really nice and everything was clean when they finished. They even blew leaves off the whole yard. Neal and his team did an absolutely amazing job from start to finish! From the initial quote to the prep work, every step was handled professionally and with great attention to detail. Communication was excellent — Neal kept us updated in real time with plans, progress, and things to be aware of, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free.

They completely transformed our backyard from an overgrown space full of trees, weeds, and stumps into a beautiful, lush lawn. They also resolved our long-standing soil erosion, drainage, and irrigation issues in the backyard, and worked on our front yard to trim bushes and trees, plus fix drainage problems there as well. The tree removal, landscaping, and irrigation crews worked seamlessly together, and the final result is beyond what we imagined.

Even after the work was completed, Neal kept us informed on how to maintain the new sod and walked us through testing the irrigation system to ensure everything was working correctly.

We recently moved to Marietta, and purchased an older home (1975) . The heavily shaded backyard had been neglected for nearly 40 years. I'm very much an outdoor/backyard person, and for months I had struggled with futile attempts to establish grass and knew I needed to go another direction. I found Total Lawn on the web and was impressed by the quality of work, and Neal's video on TL's website. I met with Neal at my property and quickly found that Neal and I shared a common vision for what we could do with the backyard. I could not be more thrilled with the transformation from to vision to reality, and the smooth process to get there. I'm retired from over 40 years in the construction industry and really appreciated Neal's approach and dedication to the the project and embracing the priorities of (1) value, (2) quality, and (3) performance/schedule. Neal takes personal ownership for the project, including daily hands on work and supervision of his experienced crew. He also worked closely with me to ensure that the normal construction disruptions to our family/dogs and our neighbors was minimized, was on budget, and actually beat the schedule we had agreed on. Believe me that doesn't happen much in construction. And the best part is the WOW when friends and family see it ! And my dogs love it too.

Neal and his team did an incredible job on our landscaping project and has done amazing work for our family over the years! From start to finish the care and attention to detail was top notch and they were very helpful when it came to providing options/flexibility to help us stay within our preferred budget without sacrificing any quality whatsoever. They completely transformed our front and back yard clearing out the existing landscaping, adding grading, flood prevention/drainage, irrigation, plants, grass, turf, mulch, pinestraw, a retaining wall and fire pit. They did this all within 10 days and the results exceeded our expectation. Neal has stopped by/checked in numerous times since the completion of the project to check on the progress of the grass/plants and provide expert advice on care/upkeep. We know we are in great hands and look forward to future projects! 10/10 will recommend to family and friends with landscaping needs!

Neal did a fantastic job on our yard. Our yard was full of weeds, overgrowth, and had become completely unmanageable for me and my husband. We did one walk through with Neal and his attention to detail sold us right away. He communicated with us the whole way through, put everything in writing, and was so easy to work with. His pricing was very reasonable and we are so glad we chose to work with him. Highly recommend Neal and his team at Total Lawn!!!

I cannot recommend Neal at Total Lawn highly enough. We undertook a complete overhaul of our backyard: addition of a pool and new landscaping across about 1/3 of an acre. This was by far the biggest home renovation project we have ever done, and Neal worked closely with us throughout the project, including recommending an excellent landscape architect who helped us design an integrated plan for the pool and landscaping work. He prepared a detailed estimate for us, with transparent and competitive pricing, and worked with us to design the right scope of work for our budget. He stayed in touch and provided feedback even as the pool project took longer than anticipated, then snapped into action as his work was needed.

As to the work itself, it is incredible. The project took about a solid week, and Neal was onsite each day, often working right beside his crew on some of the most complicated and difficult portions. Our project involved cleanup of the construction site and areas of the yard that had largely gone to seed over the years, surgical deployment of a dozen truckloads of dirt, several thousand feet of new sod, installation of substantial new drainage and irrigation, and more than a hundred new plants, plus extensive mulching and pine needles. His crew worked fast and efficiently, were a pleasure to deal with and cleaned up every day, and radically transformed our space in a matter of days. He put us in touch with great folks for other parts of the work (handyman and tree removal services), to help keep costs down.
Even after the work was done, Neal has continued to come by regularly to adjust the irrigation settings and ensure that the work is holding up under intense August sun. He clearly takes pride in his work, and owns it. He treated our yard like it was his own.

Our experience with Neal and Total Lawn was incredible, start to finish.

I will never be able to say enough good things about Neal and his team. We moved into a house with an overgrown yard with 20+ dead or dying trees in it. We needed a complete overhaul. We got Neal’s number from a friend who had used him, and got to work.
The entire process was so smooth and easy. Since his team does not do tree removal, he personally connected us with a tree service and coordinated the removal. He then did extensive grading, shaping, plant additions, a stone fire pit, and laid sod. Our backyard went from an unusable forest to a yard you see in magazines.

Throughout the estimating process, Neal stuck to the budget we gave him and moved things here and there to stay within budget and get what we wanted. When any unforeseen costs came up (needing an additional load of dirt/extending the sprinkler system to reach the full yard) he approved the cost with us, and even attempted to pull the cost from somewhere else in the estimate. I was so incredibly thankful that he cared enough to make this exactly what we wanted within the amount we wanted to spend.

On the last day here, Neal and his team even mowed our front yard, weeded our flower beds, and re-mulched them just as a nice gesture. He wasn’t even here working on the front yard!! Incredible customer service across the board. Cannot recommend enough.
