tl;dr: Hire Host & Home Cleaners if you want to pay for the privilege of cleaning up the mess your cleaners will make and leave for you to address.

I hired Host and Home for a move-out cleaning, and unfortunately it was one of the most stressful experiences I’ve had with a service.

Late arrival: They showed up 1.5 hours late, even after telling me they’d already be an hour behind. This pushed us past the 4:30 deadline I had clearly communicated, causing me to miss a follow-on appointment.

Quality of cleaning: Shockingly, the apartment actually looked cleaner before they arrived than it did by the time they left. One of the cleaners spilled a sweet beverage on the floor of the kitchen right when they arrived, and it was never cleaned up properly. During the walkthrough, I also had to point out missed areas like the fridge, large mirror closet doors, and around the couch. These photos and videos are in addition to those areas I pointed out. I cleaned up all these areas on my own the next day so I would get charged during my checkout with my landlord.

Professionalism: The cleaner complained about the smell of their own chemicals, said their stomach hurt, and asked for a smoke break within 10 minutes of arriving. I wanted to feel bad, but that’s not what I expect from a $360 service. They kept running to their car and later claimed they’d lost my keys — even suggesting they might have thrown them away -- literally the day before my move out inspection. The whole episode dragged things out and made me an additional 30 minutes late to my next appointment. Only later, after I had already left to handle other moving tasks, did they text me saying they’d found them—forcing me to come back and retrieve them.

In the end, I paid $360 for a place that looked less clean, the stress of being late to a meeting, and the anxiety of nearly losing my keys on the day before move-out. I cannot recommend this service based on my experience.

In the spirit of transparency, I am seeking a full refund with Host and Home Cleaners. They've offered a partial refund, citing that they've already paid the contracted cleaners. I've stressed to them that I paid them $360 for the cleaning service and that their relationship with their contracted cleaners shouldn't have any bearing on whether they honor their 100% guarantee. It's simple: I shouldn't have to supervise every single spot that needs cleaning or cleaning up after my cleaners made a mess, especially when I'm paying $360 for cleaning a studio with 1BA.

I recently hired Host & Home Cleaners Honolulu for a deep cleaning service, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The team arrived on time, fully prepared, and immediately got to work with a professional and friendly attitude. Every corner of my home was spotless — from the baseboards and ceiling fans to the inside of appliances and windows.

They paid incredible attention to detail, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms, which looked and smelled brand new afterward. I appreciated how respectful they were of my belongings and how they used eco-friendly products that left everything feeling fresh without harsh chemical smells.

Communication before and after the cleaning was smooth and responsive, and the price was very reasonable for the quality of work. I highly recommend Host & Home Cleaners Honolulu to anyone looking for a reliable, thorough, and trustworthy cleaning service. I’ll definitely be booking with them again!

Did a standard move out cleaning with them. Maid in Oahu is my landlord’s preferred agent so I went with them. First impression was that they were very professional and detailed in explaining to me what the service includes and the restrictions. For this standard move out service, they allot 5 hours for an apartment of my size (~700sqft), and any thing longer gets charged hourly. I didnt have be present at the vacant property during this time which was nice for me to get my life together. Gave me a 30min notice on when she would be finished, and I came back and the place looks beautiful. I dont have any frame of reference for service and value for a company like this, but from what Ive seen, 10/10 recommend.

Really stoked on them. I had to call on a weekend ran into some issues and they scheduled somebody for Sunday and they took care of it. The person that came did an awesome job. Cleaning definitely be using this company again for sure. They even introduced me to somebody that can do the rug shampooing so that made it easy.

Everything was done incredibly quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly! Our carpet was pretty gross, as our vacuum cleaner had been acting up for awhile and was not picking up a lot of the hair, dust, etc. After the cleaning service, you could feel the difference of the clean carpet versus the old, dirty one! All of the little nooks and crannies that needed dusting and cleaning were cleared too, and my husband liked how the bathrooms were also scoured and cleaned.

Maid In Oahu is my go to company for cleaning. I only have great experiences with them whether it be a routine cleaning or a move in/out cleaning. The communication is very clear. I really appreciate the detail and dedication. They are very thorough and go above and beyond to ensure a spotless service. Highly recommend!

I believe it was Noel’s team that cleaned for us. They were nothing short of amazing! Fast, efficient, friendly, professional, patient, and pet friendly! We had a lot of pet hair and dust causing allergies. They asked me to do an inspection of the house before they left to ensure their work was up to our standards. They exceeded my expectations. My house smells amazing! I can’t wait to book again and I plan to book them regularly.

It's been a little while since Maid in Oahu's last visit here, so I knew there were going to be some challenges, but the ladies worked non-stop, and now the house looks and smells absolutely refreshing!

We've used Maid in Oahu more than once now and they do an excellent job of communicating and cleaning our units. Would highly recommend them.

The team that did my home did an excellent job. My home is very old which means the tubs were quite stained and had a lot of buildup. Cynthia and Maribel made both bathrooms usable again. They both were very professional, arrived on time, and communicated with me the entire time of the cleaning if they had any questions. They really made it a point to make sure the job was done the way I wanted it to be done.

The girls did an INCREDIBLE end of lease cleaning job on our place in Kailua, we will be recommending them to all of our friends!

We are finally moved into our new place and selling our old one. We tried a different company for our “construction clean” and although they were priced higher than the rest, the service did not match up at all. We are still removing tape residue and haze from various areas.

So for the pre-sale, move out clean, we decided to try Maid in Oahu! They were very easy to schedule, highly communicative, even letting me know they’d be there by 7:54 ahead of our 8:00 appointment. Cindy and Mirabelle were friendly, and very hard working. They went non-stop until 5:30, and asked me to do a walk through of the home and Ohana unit when they were done.

Everything was spotless, even though it took them a little longer because of all of the built-in cabinetry of the mid-century modern style home. Their price was much more reasonable than the other company’s too. Cindy and Mirabelle were fantastic, and their dispatcher called as soon as they left to check on our satisfaction! So great to experience service like this nowadays.

Booked a deep cleaning service along with window cleaning and cleaning the inside of all the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen, and I’m so happy I booked with Maid in Oahu! They were so friendly, got a huge task complete in so little time, and everything looked and felt so clean! Will be booking again in the future!

Excellent from beginning to end. Our condo has been vacant for some time and needed some serious cleaning. I booked a deep clean for our condo, a week in advance, and received immediate communication to confirm date and time. I booked a deep clean, about 3-4 hour time for our space. The girls were prompt and professional. I gave them a walkthrough of the space and they went over what I needed for the deep clean, and left them to their work. They were done in 3 hours and they did not disappoint. The condo smelled wonderful and refreshed, the kitchen (especially the fridge & freezer that was previously covered in gross stuff) was spotless, the bathrooms immaculate. This was my first time booking with Maid in Oahu and they will be my go to for our cleaning needs from this point on. Highly recommend!
