If you insist on doing business with top notch, reliable and friendly professionals this is your place. I sent an email requesting information about repair / maintenance of my PV system and to my surprise received a call back within minutes. I have also worked with John Yeh (Business Development Manager) before and can tell you that his word is gold, he returns emails, texts and phone calls within minutes (not hours) and you will find him to be as knowledgeable, honest and friendly a professional as you'll ever work with. I also spoke with Chelli and like John, she was the consummate professional and responds very quickly. Highly recommended!

OceanHead Solar company installed the PV solar system on our roof in December 2020. They are professional, expedient and their work is exemplary. At the same time they offer very competitive prices. I highly recommend their work and service!

We would recommend OceanHead Solar & Electric over and over again. We were apprehensive at first but John Yeh met with us promptly to explain the process and answer all questions. He took care of all the paperwork with HECO and our home association. Gail and Michelle worked with us to get what we expected from a solar system, even though we really didnt know. They worked with us to position the batteries where we thought was best for weather. They set us up to have power IN the house through an outage (we learned this is not automatic, so ask up front). They showed up on site to check on the progress and final product. Michelle actually inspects their work and applies the stickers!

The electricians and installers were professional, friendly, and good at what they do. The pipes and lines are clean and neat. Though it rained, they worked safe to get our system up and running.

Sorry so long, but one last thing... we contacted five solar companies before deciding on Oceanhead. They were tops in response time, communication, reliability, listening to our needs, knowing our community, and Price! ($20,000 less than some of the others)

I saw a solar panel ad on Facebook, so I filled out the info. Within the hour, John Yeh from OceanHead Solar & Electric calls me to schedule an estimate. He and his whole team was very knowledgeable and professional. They worked with American Savings Bank to help me find the best loan financing that was affordable for me and my family. From the day we scheduled my estimate, to after the installation, it was such an awesome experience. Mahalo!!

I can't think of enough great words to describe the crew that performed my solar installation. Jeff, Chuck, DJ, and "Shakazulu" were outstanding! They are incredibly professional, courteous, efficient, and worked really well together.

Although I didn't want to bother them, the opportunities to see what was going on was very impressive! Their workmanship and attention to detail was as if they were working on their own house!

Even during the hottest day of the week, these guys are like machines! I was seriously worried one of them would drop from heat exhaustion! They just kept plugging along!!!

The work was done to my utmost satisfaction (I'm a picky SOB) and the work areas were cleaner then when they arrived!

Our solar panels were installed over four years ago and it has been the best investment we have made to improve our home and save money on electric bills. From the beginning of choosing our system through installation we were guided professionally by Gail. Our questions were answered quickly and we were able to choose the system we preferred. Gail helped navigate us through the entire process including guidance with Hawaiian Electric paperwork which made the process easy. Installation was completed quickly and the crew even painted all exposed pipes and boxes to match the colors of the house to comply with HOA guidelines. Each month we receive a detailed report of energy production for our panels. Recently we had our panels inspected and cleaned with updated pictures provided. Scheduling was easy and the work was completed within a few hours. Oceanhead Solar is a great company and we highly recommend their product and service. Professional and friendly with continuing excellent service over the years.

We recently had our solar power system installed on our house by OceanHead Solar and they did an awesome job. Having solar in general is a huge improvement to our billing and our flexibility with energy management. Now that summer is here it’s nice to know I can run the AC during the day and not feel like the bill is going to sky rocket. John Yeh was very helpful with giving us the real information about how the financial side of getting solar works and he was helpful throughout the whole process. The team took care of the measurements, permitting, planning, delivery, install and inspections. The only thing I needed to do was have the loan secured and then be around when they needed anything from me. I wanted to wait for the first bill to come in before making this review just to see the results and I’m satisfied with the system and the results. The app to monitor the solar panels is very easy to navigate and the information is helpful to make sure we are saving energy on those overcast or rainy days. Excited for lower bills from here on out!

Our experience with Ocean Head Solar was great! We have met with several solar companies but overall they have the best costumer service, and price. We, me and my wife, met with John Y. this mid August and discussed the overall process and how soon our Solar can be installed. Ocean Head solar got our system running by the end of September, it only took them less than 7 weeks.

UPDATE as of 01/11/26: Been having various issues about every 3-4 months since installation in 2022. Current and reoccuring issue appears to be PV link and there is no clear resolve... Oceanhead nicely said they cannot do repairs because it is costly, but various other solar companies have chimed in and said that the company that installed should be working with the household.

(Original Review in 2022) Very happy with the service, and extremely happy with the HECO bill after installation.

On the SERVICE side, John Yeh, Oceanhead’s sales rep, is extremely responsive, informative, and easy to trust. John gave recommendations for our system size/capacity, and we are glad we followed his advice!

Oceanhead has a great team, from Kapena and his installation crew to Jesse the permit and app gal, all the way up to the part owner, Chelli. Chelli patiently and respectfully answered questions and explained the process.

Overall, Oceanhead is organized, responsive, knowledgeable, and professional. They are able to answer questions in a clear and transparent manner, and troubleshoot well.

On the PRODUCT side, so far so good, and we are extremely happy with the resulting bill,

I really appreciate OceanHead's help, especially John. He is really patient and excellent. Every time we meet, he will explain to me patiently, solve all my problems, and planning the most suitable plan for me. The technicians who came to install the solar energy were very good and very fast and it was all installed in just two days for 52 solar panel.
