Poor customer service was not happy with the quality of work

Some of the most entitled contractors I’ve ever seen would not let me change and crawled in my apartment window to wake me up talking about “you need to let us in we need are money” I have been concussed for a week and never set up this appointment my complex gave me a note saying they’d be here Monday which legally means they can come on Monday not 3 days later randomly on a Thursday with no notice overall very disrespectful and intrusive

Sasquatch Contracting has a great team and are a pleasure to work with. I'm one of their painting contractors (4+ years). As a painter who values quality and taking care of my customers, I can definitely say Sasquatch Contracting does the exact same. I would recommend them to all my family and friends if they ever need to use a contracting company!

I started doing business with Sasquatch Contracting around a year ago. I have hired them to handle small projects and conduct entire remodels. Projects have consisted of everything from small tasks to turning comprehensively trashed houses to market-ready.

To date, they have done an array of projects for my business and have completed a massive remodel on my personal house.

As you can imagine, big projects have the opportunity for big problems and big miscommunication. I have found that Dean and Mary understand this and do a superb job communicating throughout all aspects of every job I’ve thrown at them. Communication and a clear outline of what is expected and from whom is key; Sasquatch not only gets this, they practice it!

I will continue to work with these guys for several reasons. I have worked with more contractors in the Treasure Valley throughout my career than I can remember. Sasquatch Contracting is what this valley needs more of. They are the real deal for a full-service construction company. I feel fortunate to have met them. You will too!

Dean & Mary were incredibly professional. They designed and completed our bathroom remodel that absolutely exceeded our expectations! They brought to life a design we never thought possible. Would definitely use Sasquatch again, and would highly recommend them!

Great company! Works hard from start to finish. Very Responsive. Dean is very handy and hard working, makes everything look flawless wonderful job. Mary is great at coming up with different design ideas, interior design and sets you up for success on choosing your options instead of feeling overwhelmed! Great team!

Beware! This company lacks integrity and will not stand behind the contractors it employs to do the job. Sasquatch did a walk in shower in my master bath. I noticed within 2 years that the threshold was not waterproofed. I had this verified by The Groutsmith, an independent contractor who said it was "failing dramatically, and in good faith whoever did it should fix it without charge." They forgot to completely grout the threshold inside and out. I was led to believe the longevity of this shower should be at least 10 years if not longer. The original contractor came out and said he would fix it , he agreed he had not completed it correctly. He also said it was a 2 to 3 hour job. Not a 2 day job. There is only a 1 year warranty required in Idaho. Sasquatch is now wanting me to pay an additional $800 to fix their poor workmanship. What a dishonest company.

While the finished product looks great in our photos they’ve posted on Social Media, the journey getting there with Sasquatch Contracting was extremely stressful, frustrating, and something we would never want another homeowner to experience.

We began working with them in May 2025 and were initially excited about the design process. Cabinets were scheduled for early August, which we were fine with. However, after paying half up front, communication quickly fell apart. Weeks would go by with no updates, and we repeatedly had to chase the project manager to get basic information. We were often told crews would be at our house on certain days, only to have no one show up with no notice, which cost us work time and caused major scheduling issues for our family.

After confronting them multiple times about communication, reliability, and respect for our time, they became defensive to the point that the owners actually came to our house and told us if we didn’t stop getting upset about their lack of communication, we “wouldn’t like the alternative” – meaning they’d walk away mid-project. Meanwhile, several subcontractors privately mentioned delays in being paid and constant turnover, and we learned they were juggling 30+ projects with only two project managers, which explains the chaos.

Payment was another huge issue. They repeatedly demanded payments for work they claimed was “complete” when it clearly was not. We refused to pay until things were actually finished — which they did not appreciate, but no customer should be paying for incomplete work.

Quality problems followed. The quartz installation scratched cabinet panels badly, and instead of fixing them, they tried to cover them with a marker. We had to fight repeatedly to get panels replaced. They also called obvious paint and finish flaws “within industry standard” until we pushed hard enough to force repairs. Only then did things get somewhat addressed — still not perfectly.

Meanwhile, the very few bright spots were the subcontractors who did great work: the electricians, drywall crew, and the cabinet installer/pantry builder. They deserve credit. But they were the exception, not the rule.

From start to finish, the project took six months and ended in late October, even though cabinets arrived August 8 and quartz mid-August. We were originally told the job would be finished by September 12. Because of how poorly this was handled, we even had to retain a lawyer at one point.

In the end, the kitchen looks nice — but the experience cost us time, money, stress, and completely robbed us of the joy most people feel after a remodel. Also in our contract it was stated that they could use our kitchen in photos as long as we got the professional photo copies they took. We have still not received any of them. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Sasquatch Contracting to manage or lead any remodel project. Poor communication, unreliable scheduling, disrespect for client time, payment pressure, and refusal to take accountability made this one of the most exhausting experiences we’ve ever dealt with.

Sasquatch transformed our ordinary backyard structure into a functional, beautiful office and living space that is both practical and a value add to our home. The level of professional, communication and care through out made the process of making this once far off dream an exciting reality. We 10/10 recommend reaching out to them about your next home project.

Working with Verticon was the best decision I made for managing my project. From the very beginning they were easy to communicate with. The staff was very hands on with the schedule development as well as getting the other contractors on the same page throughout the time of the project. Verticon was very professional when handling conflicts or any scheduling delays. Made my job stress free knowing Verticon was there making the hard work look easy. Working with Roni was a dream! She was so knowledgeable and helpful in making my vision a reality. She was extremely schedule-focused and responsive throughout the project. The contractors she brought in did amazing work, and we were thrilled with the results of our bathroom remodel. Most significantly, because of her honesty and integrity I knew that the project would be done well and that our best interests were at the forefront. We will definitely hire them for future projects!

The bathroom was an entire gut job! Plus the carpet was removed from the master closet to be replaced with the same tile as the bathroom. What was once a cramped shower, tiny sink area, a huge soaker tub, and no storage was transformed. Now it is a huge (tub was not replaced), comfy and yet, elegant and spa-like master bath. The closet got a new storage area and a linen closet replaced the small shower.
The contractors were organized and efficient. They knew what was expected of them and completed the work on schedule. We were made aware of who was coming and when on a daily basis. The craft work is impeccable and clean.

Idahome Dream Builders remodeled my Master and Guest baths, and updated my laundry room. It was such a pleasure working with Roni and Ben Kalkman. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and gave me a very detailed bid so that I knew exactly how much everything cost. In addition, they provided a detailed schedule, answered all my questions, and came in on budget. They even helped me with designs.

Their trades/subcontractors were top-notch. Very professional, courteous, did a great job, and cleaned up after their work. I felt comfortable leaving my house for appointments while they were working.

Communication is key, and Roni let me know what trade was coming each day, and at what time. I felt comfortable emailing her with any questions I had.

Ben is very skilled in construction, ensured my floors were protected, and performed the demo in a careful and clean manner. Ben also built a frame for my existing large mirror, replaced and fixed baseboards, rehung doors, replaced door weather stripping, hung towel bars and mirrors, and even restarted my fireplace which was not part of the job.

I would highly recommend Idahome Dream Builders for any remodel job. I am so happy and excited about the results of my remodel. I enjoyed working with them.
