Constraction reviews in Chicago, Illinois

Al is hard worker, honest and trustworthy. He did a complete remodel of our kitchen and was on site 100% of the time and did most of the work himself.

His attention to detail is incredible and his patience with my overbearing need to “stay within my budget” was commendable. He did an amazing job with our kitchen, we absolutley love it. He wasn’t finished until we were completely satisfied.

When my rental condo flooded, I called Al to mitigate the unit and then asked him to do the rebuild. He jumped right to it and had my renters back in the unit within a month.

Al is the real deal. He’s on my speed dial. Our next task is to get our bathrooms done and he will be our first call.

My journey with Chicago Custom Remodeling started in August, when I was searching for a contractor that could redo my kitchen, floors and paint. This company came highly recommended by one of the bigger kitchen remodeling studios here in Chicago and I couldn't be happier that I made the call. Al came out on the same day with samples, walked the space and gave me insights on what I should be looking for.

Once we decided that it was a good match, Al came up with a list of items I had to do, so I wouldn't feel rushed when the project started. As the project started I knew I had to include my bathroom remodel and Al was gracious enough to adjust his schedule to include the change in scope. Our time together is at a close and I am beyond happy with my remodeling project, I just want to spend time in my spaces to take it all in. Als attention to detail is unparalleled, he guides you to link pieces you've selected, so you have a cohesive design.

This was my first remodeling project at my first home and Al made it a very fun learning experience. If you are looking for a contractor that will work with you to bring out your inner style and deliver on that vision, look no further. I am glad I made the call to work with Chicago Custom Remodeling and I will be working with them again when I get my next property!

If your home HVAC breaks down, you will spend a lot of time hoping to find a good company to repair it. I didn't spend that time because my friend recommended AI. I used AI twice to repair my AC unit and install a new HVAC system, the results were satisfactory. He was very professional, and the price was reasonable, absolutely would recommend, 5 stars!

Al + team went above and beyond to get my AC fixed quickly and affordably. He was really clear about what the issue was and my options for fixing & replacing it. Being a single female homeowner, a lot of providers will try to take advantage so I really appreciated that he took the time to understand what I did and didn’t need/want (he even told me what to look out for with previous quotes I had gotten). Did I mention he went out of his way to get things fixed for me before the 90 degree days hit??? I would be a literal puddle right now if not for these guys. Can’t recommend enough.

Over the years, our powder room had become almost non-functional, and we really needed to get it overhauled this fall before the holiday season. Our son and daughter-in-law had recently worked with Al and Chicago Custom Remodeling for their bathroom and recommended them highly.

We found their estimate very fair, and they had good ideas as to tiling, lighting, a new window, door and frame. The work was done expeditiously, with the only hold-up the window, which got caught in the current supply-chain delays. The result is a very clean looking, bright new powder room. Best of all, I think, is that they really KNOW and CARE ABOUT plumbing and electrical, and for us, what is underneath all the pretty tiles is the most important of all.

We had a unique project in our home that was difficult to measure the scope of work and even harder to find someone we trusted to take it on. Al was straightforward and trustworthy from the beginning. We felt so relieved that it was in good hands. Along the way he adapted as needed, presented great solutions to various challenges, and in the end, gave us the great gift of replacing a valuable piece of history in the home we love. Would recommend Al to anyone!

Our experience with the owner Al exceeded all expectations! From the moment I called to ask for an estimate I was instantly encouraged. Al answered my first phone call and immediately we were on the books for an in home estimate within 48 hours. Our first meeting would set the stage for a wonderful working relationship! Al and his team remodeled our master bathroom and our half bath. Throughout the process he was always available and very responsive to all texts and phone calls. His work ethic is outstanding and he takes real pride in his work and his customer’s happiness! Our two bathrooms turned out incredible and beyond what we ever imagined when we began! We are so happy to have found Al and will be using his company for projects down the road.

Sincerely-
Nicole B.

I had Al and his team build out an ugly half bath (was actually a closet w/an oversized sink and toilet) into a beautiful full bath with a walk in shower. It required creativity to build out walls, fit everything into a small space and still look fabulous. It looked so good that adjoining kitchen suffered in comparison. So, I updated the counters and back splash for a small budget increase and now everything looks fabulous.
Al and his team were a joy to work with. Very professional and dependable, cleaned up after themselves, respectful of my home, kept me updated and even let my dog out for her walk. I will, without a doubt, use Al again. I highly recommend his work.

Al and his team are hands down excellent. Honest and upfront about everything, and clear communication from quote all the way through completion. They not only do quality work that they clearly care about and take pride it (rightfully so), but they also keep a clean workspace.

There were so many things wrong with our basement, and after finally resolving our water issues we needed to get the entire thing refinished. He helped us avoid a second major water issue by pointing out some sketchy plumbing, and he even helped me secure a section of old fence that blew down while they were on site so my dogs didn't run off.

I will be getting them back out to replace that fence soon, happy to wait for an opening in their schedule. It can be hard to find a contractor that you can trust, but congratulations you need look no further this is one right here.

Al at CCR was wonderful to work with on our apartment bathroom remodel. He was up front with cost expectations and what could be done and my husband and I just love our new bathroom. Al gave valuable suggestions and advice every step of the way. He worked so hard every day and took less than 2 weeks to complete from demo day to finishing touches. The guys he brought in for electric and painting were great as well. We had a great experience with Al and his company and would call him again in a heartbeat for any future projects. We are already recommending Al and CCR to others!

“Toasty Warmth in No Time!”
This HVAC company is a lifesaver, fixing both my heater and AC with speed and skill. The house went from freezing to cozy in hours! Huge thanks to Tech AL for his expertise and to Mr. Olive for his friendly, top-notch service
—you guys are absolute stars!

I can't say enough good things about Al & his team. My A/C died in the middle of a heat wave & a friend recommended Chicago Custom Remodeling. Al arrived an hour later quickly diagnosed the issue. Unfortunately, the diagnosis was a new unit needed. 24 hours later a brand new unit was installed and working perfectly. Incredible service, fair price, absolutely would recommend, 5 stars!

The best relationships are based on trust. When it comes to your contractor, that’s even more true. Luckily for us, Al is one trustworthy guy and he gave us beautiful results overhauling the kitchen and master bathroom in our new home. This is the first renovation we’ve done, and we were a little nervous about how to proceed. Though we had a vision of what we wanted, Al was able to help us define it and clarify it. He offered honest feedback throughout that made us feel more confident in our choices, whether it was that he liked the color we chose to paint our kitchen or that our floor tile wasn’t the best match for what we were doing. Above all, Al is a complete perfectionist AND a creative problem-solver. If one little thing felt off, he couldn’t stand it until it was fixed. Whenever a wrench was thrown in there, Al had a way to fix it. Al is also very responsive and communicative so we were able to keep in touch throughout the entire process and feel good about progress. We highly recommend Al and Chicago Custom Remodeling for all of your contracting needs. He’s worth it.

We have worked with Al for many years, on three different homes we lived in - at this point he's practically family. Recently, we went through a major renovation with our nearly 100-year-old house. While most people find a renovation stressful, I actually had a lot of fun with it. That's due to Al. We communicated our vision, style, and budget upfront and he was able to bring our dream to life. He made additional suggestions that brought character to our home and also added little details that give it modern conveniences.

There is no challenge Al can't meet. The work was done on time, on point and beyond our expectations. I can't recommend Al and the Chicago Custom Remodeling team enough.

We had a great experience working with Al. He was quick, efficient, friendly, and professional throughout the entire renovation. The craftsmanship was top-notch, and everything was completed on time, within budget and with great attention to detail. Highly recommend!

Amazing work! Right from the get go, Al was able to work with and help achieve our home renovation needs and vision. Throughout the whole process, Al had great communication and answered any questions and concerns we had. He even helped us out for some of the material we were having a difficult time finding the appropriate amount. During construction, Al would send updates, which we also enjoyed! The work itself made our living and dinning room look like whole new rooms. They look so much more elegant and modern now.

Thank you!!

Guaranteed Satisfaction!!

I have been a repeat customer of Al's for over 4 years. It's hard to find a reliable honest company who does a quality job. He has done several jobs for me over the years. Most recently they fixed up my driveway and side walk. We are going to put in new flooring soon and I can't wait to see the finished product!

Al is great to work with - had my countertop recently replaced in June 2018 from the dark granite to a bright and refreshing light white/grey finish. The difference is remarkable as you can see the pictures. Al is knowledgeabe and will provide you with suggestions if you're unsure or need help.

Al’s work on our place has been fantastic. Every friend or family member that walks in immediately talks about how our whole place looks brand new. The floors, painting, and the countertops all look terrific and we’re lucky to have him as our general contractor for our spot.

This would be my 5th project with CCR. Each job has been better than the previous one. Al provides both aesthetic and practical suggestions throughout that result in detailed craftsmanship. I’m very happy with my new kitchen and will continue to hire CCR for any future home renovations.

We hired CCR to update the connection for a new washer and dryer. Al went above and beyond identifying rotted pipes that affected the plumbing overall. He replaced what needed to be replaced with new PVC pipe drainage and came back to install the washer dryer minutes after delivery. I would definitely hire him again for my next large home project.
