I reached out to Kostos Electric for an issue installing a GFCI. Nate took the time to call me back and talk me through the issue which allowed me to fix it myself. I will definitely be happy to use them for any upcoming electrical needs.

Kostas was friendly, fast, and efficient. His prices are very fair. He also shared great insight about our condo. We will definitely be contacting him for any and all future repairs and projects!

Nate Kostos completely replaced the electrical in my 1 bedroom coop. My building is over 100 years old and my unit’s wiring was in awful condition before he started. Most of the wiring was original - what little had been replaced was done poorly - some with lamp wire, a fire hazard! The old circuit box had been installed upside down and all my electrical was on one circuit! So it all had to be redone.

Nate removed all the 100 year old wiring, outlets, switches, and breaker box. New breaker box probably triples number of circuits. He had to run two lengths of conduit from the box up three stories to the apartment to carry the new wire plus dedicated lines for kitchen appliances, AC, etc. He did a far superior job mounting that exterior conduit than most of my neighbors - he pointed out places where conduit to other units was rickety. He replaced all the existing outlets and switches. He added many new outlets (probably tripling what had been there). Added switches, including dimmers. Added a dedicated hard wired smoke alarm. Removed and replaced all the light fixtures.

Nate was easy to work with - he is good-natured and answered all my questions (mostly because I was curious about how it all worked). At one point work had to stop for about 6 weeks (issue on my end not his) and then resume. He was very patient. My Coop Board requires pre-approval of all credentials and they are super picky - they went out of their way to compliment the quality of his work.

No contractor has X-ray vision - in any work of this nature they sometimes encounter unknown things outside the scope of the project. It happened in this case, the issue made sense, and additional work was added - but even then, the cost for the overall project was still far less than the next lowest quote.
I would definitely recommend him and would use him again.

Nathan will be my new go-to for not only any personal electrical needs but potentially for my entire condo association's needs. He was personable, knowledgeable, efficient, and fairly priced. He even threw in a replacement exterior outlet when he noticed that the busted one was the source of the shorting on the interior of my unit. Highly recommend using him especially if you are in the Uptown/Lincoln Square/North Center area.

Nate is no-nonsense professional. He knows his stuff, and he gets it done honestly and in a reasonable amount of time. We had him install a couple of electrical outlets, and it was no big deal for him. Everything works perfectly, and the price was right. I highly recommend Kostas Electric for any type of electrical work that you may need done.

Kostos Electric was phenomenal to work with. We needed emergency service on a Saturday and they were over within 30 minutes. After fixing the issue, Kostos also subsequently installed outdoor outlets, new outdoor lighting and re-wired our garage for an electric car. Great communication, prompt service and incredibly helpful, cannot recommend Kostos Electric enough.

I highly recommend working with Nate. He did a couple of projects for us recently including installing a 240 volt outlet in our kitchen for an induction stove. He also fixed the lights in the hood and installed a new dimmer in a hallway. We hired him again a few weeks later to move a junction box and install a new outlet in our kitchen in the midst of a mini remodel. He is very responsive and punctual. He cleaned up thoroughly after he finished the job. He also completed the work a head of time and for the price he quoted. I also consulted him about some future projects and he had great suggestions. We look forward to hiring Nate in the future.

Great quality work and timely. He explained his thought process and planning throughout the job to help me understand how everything works - adding several outlets and a light switch to a new room. Would definitely want to have Kostos Electric back if I ever needed more work done.

Nate did an excellent job replacing the old cloth-insulated wiring, outlets, and switches in my apartment. He also successfully converted several pull-chain light fixtures to be switch-activated. I was very impressed by his professionalism and responsiveness, and he took the time to clearly explain all the work being done. The service was high quality and provided at a reasonable price.

Nate was very friendly and seemed to enjoy explaining things to me as he worked, which I really appreciated/enjoyed. He installed an exterior outlet with a dedicated circuit for what I feel was a reasonable price. He seems like a genuinely good person, and I will offer him more work in the future.

Working with Kostos Electric was excellent experience. Nate is a constant professional and responsive upon initial contact, quoting the job, and scheduling the work. Day of, he communicated arrival time, reviewed the work to be completed, answered any curious questions and cleaned up. This is the type of value a tradesman provides in that you know the job will be completed right the first time, and if there is a hiccup/challenge expectations are communicated. He is the first on my list for any electrical work in the future and I would recommend him to anyone.

Jesse installed light fixtures in my home. He is very professional and reasonably priced compared to the other competitors in the area. I am a little OCD and he made sure everything was perfect for me and has good customer service. Thank you for installing my light fixtures they look amazing and I will be contacting him if I need any other electrical need.

Also, this man can wire houses and buildings so if you are looking for help I would suggest giving him a call if you are pricing electricians in the area.

I'm thinking scam on this. Called about a commercial generator service needed. 2 separate occasions and both times it sounds like the guy said the exact same thing, "I'll give you a call back in 10-15 minutes" and then never get a call back.
