Got my roof done back in 2018 and needed some masonry/tuckpoonting and decided to give them a call again. I called on a Monday and my project was done by Saturday. They are reliable and workmanship and clean up was done great.

They did a BEAUTIFUL job on my front porch, the gentlemen were
very professional and michael klein are salesman was great to work with.

They know their business and they are good at it.
Fair price, good workmanship. Mark, the on site manager did a fantastic job coordinating each phase. Roof and Gutters.
If needed, I would use Second City again for other repair projects.

I have had 2 roofs and recently siding on the back porch done and the company has done a great job. Robert who did the siding did an amazing job. After the job was completed my yard was swept and cleared from all debris. This company is amazing, workers are very professional. I will continue to hire them for any future work. Thank you Steve who gave me the quote and Robert who did the amazing work. I recommend this company completely.

I had a lot of problems with my brick work at my house in Humboldt Park, second city came out and took care of all the tuck point and I couldn't be happier either price and work! I would definitely recommend them!

I am a recurring customer of Second City Construction Company. Several years ago they did a Roofing project for our home. They did an Excellent Outstanding Job. Very Pleased and so Satisfied with the job they did. Decided that they would be the one to make my dream kitchen come true. I gave specific instructions on how I wanted my kitchen to look. The Supervisor was all gong whole when he was making the sales but him and the work crew didn’t see eye to eye. There are flaws in my kitchen that makes me disappointed in my remodel kitchen. First job they did was Excellent, Second Job disappointing. After I pay the bill off I will get my kitchen redone to my specifications.

Second City is phenomenal. The Second City team helped resolve a major issue. They came and addressed matters efficiently and promptly. They always follow up with me any time I reach out, and this company has the best customer service we have experienced in some time. I highly recommend Second City.

As background, we had used a different contractor to build a brand new garage. Due to the original contractor's work, we had water coming in the finished attic space. It dripped down the finished drywall in the stairwell. At that time, we had ceased working with the old contractor.

I called Second City. They came out, examined it, determined that a flat portion of the roof needed different material, and thereafter replaced it. They did this all within a day or two of work. Efficient, economical, and extremely good communication and service.

Since then, out of concern, I have circled back on some other items. They respond promptly. They care about their customers. We will continue to use Second City, and we will recommend it to anyone who has roofing and exterior needs.

I hired Second City Roofing after interviewing 8 other roofing companies. I felt Mark was very honest. I am very happy with the work performed & would highly recommend Second City Roofing. I had a complete tear down along with masonry work. The entire crew was very efficient. They came each day until the work was completed. They also did a great job of cleaning up each day.

I used Second City Roofing and had the best experience since I’ve moved to Chicago. They were knowledgeable, efficient and helped with financing. I can’t recommend anyone in the Chicago area more!

These guys were amazing. I got a letter in January that my building insurance would be cancelled if I did not get a new roof in the next 2 months. Mike and his guys did an excellent job and replaced both roofs and did some other work over 2 warm days in January. They were extremely professional and did great work!

I hired Second City Roofing to handle a tear-off and new gutters at my home in Chicago. The representative who visited me understood my needs and made recommendations that fit them without upselling me. We hired this company afterl a prior one failed to start the project last fall, so I was a bit wary, but Second City arrived when they said they would and completed the project in one day with a diligent crew. I requested a few corrections to the work, which the company completed promptly. My only disappointment was that the dumpster containing the debris from the old roof stood outside for longer than expected. Overall a positive experience, a fair price for good materials; I would recommend Second City.

They were one of the four companies we contacted to bid on our flat roof replacement and tuckpointing for our 6-unit condo association. They responded to every email and call promptly. This was the first time our HOA was investing such a significant amount in improvements, and we truly felt they guided us through the entire process with care and understanding. They respected our position and worked within our budget. A big thank you to the crew, the office staff, and the owner!

I have a garage roof in Hyde park that needed a lot of work second city came and did the job quick and I got a great rate and financing I would recommend them to anyone who needs work on their house

Second city did my back siding the south side of Chicago, and it looks amazing! They were very professional and I love the work.

I had entirely new decking and shingles put on a multi unit property a little over a month ago.

I'll start by saying the roof work was done well. The crew was very good at cleaning and everyone was very professional.

However there where a number of issues with the contract and fine print. We signed a contract for a new shingled roof, new decking, new gutters, a drip edge, and a few other things (water barrier etc).

Now I was under the impression they where going to install a drip edge and connect a new gutter system to it but they did not put either of those in and they used our old gutters. They refunded us "the value of the gutters" but just jargoned us about the decking being the drip edge.

Even though we didn't talk about installing fascia I pointed out the areas that were bad and was told we will make it look good. The old roof just had shingles that bent over the front and back of the roof and that was fine. SCR&E just left exposed decking that you can see the neon green edge of from the front and back of the house.

The guy who was in charge while the crew was working told us we would have to hire a contractor or carpenter to clean that up but I thought the "exteriors" part of the company title would have covered that.

All in all I just feel like it was a rushed job that, because it was the end of the season, they were just trying to finish fast. After talking to the company and explaining this issue they took off a small percentage for the gutters but would not negotiate any further. For what we paid I feel that the work does not match the price. The companies tag line is even about how they cost more but the work is better.

If you are going to consider this company please make sure you go over exactly what you want, what each item costs, and make sure the contract clearly states everything. I would recommend having a contract lawyer look at the document as well before you sign.

I recently needed to replace our roof after a bad fall storm. I found Second City Roofing and Exteriors during an online search and was impressed by how long they have been in business. A company that will be around to honor a warranty was important to me especially since it’s for a new roof. I had a representative come out and prepare a proposal. I had three companies come out but Second City was the only one to take the time to carefully explain what was needed and how the process would work. We chose Second City and were not disappointed. The crew was amazing. They worked hard and finished in a timely manner. They also cleaned up so well! That was a big deal also. I can’t recommend Second City enough.

I chose Second City Construction to put a new roof on my house. The price was very fair and the communication throughout the process was professional & prompt. The crew who completed the job was so nice, helpful and professional. They worked extremely hard to complete the job in one day. They cleaned everything up and left my property in better shape than it was when they arrived. I highly recommend Second City Construction!

Great work by 2nd City roofing and exteriors, they managed to remove the old shingles and replace them in a single day and change as well the skylight windows. Good and experienced large crew. Good contact with Steve who is very responsive.
