Bryan & Mike were great! Professional, efficient, and did a great job resolving my issues and giving me peace of mind.

I had a bad clog in our main water line that caused a backup and flooding. A family member recommended Goode Plumbing and we scheduled an appointment online. Not long after opening hours they contacted me back and sent a tech to my location. Bryan provided excellent clean service.

Chip and Chris replaced a cutout on the sewer line in the back of our house. It was located in the midst of my wife’s garden bed. She was very concerned about damage to the plantings, and the plumbers took great care to minimize the impact on the flowers and confined the digging to a small size. They laid down plywood sheets to protect the lawn from the uprooted soil. They waited for the village inspector to arrive and approve the new fitting. Because the work area was muddy from the rain, they took time to wash off all the muddy footprints from the deck before departing. Once again, Goode Plumbing did excellent work and proved their excellent standards.

They did excellent job helping me with the gas pipe and hot water issue at my restaurant but very bad customer service and bad communication

Chris and Nick worked their butts off to get my project done in one day. Great guys, super knowledgeable, and they treated my home with respect. They did great work repiping some hydronic radiators and also gas lines. 10/10

Franklin unclogged my sewer line explained to me what was going on in detail and he found a additional problem by the curve in the street explained to me wether or not it’s my problem or the cities gave me a number to call was helpful and Jon got me about $150 discount with camera inspection

Why would I call these guys, you call them at 2p for same day? That's 'Emergency' (400bucks plus)? How about a little customer service, too. Everyone is hustling now.

Chip is awesome! He replaced our ejector pump last year and it’s been working great until a small issue popped up recently. He came out very quickly, figured it out right away, and took the time to explain everything clearly. He even gave us a water flood alarm to help prevent future problems. Super knowledgeable, honest, and friendly!

Field Supervisor was professional, knowledgeable and helpful regarding our plumbing issue.

Jose was just getting home when he decided to take our emergency call and arrived at 10:15pm. Our sump pump had malfunctioned in a storm and, while we mostly had it under control when he arrived, he stabilized the sump and offered great advice on how to fix the situation.

These guys worked fast and effectively to accomplish a complicated mammoth job.

Unethical Pricing and Lack of Transparency

I contacted Goode Plumbing to address an issue in one of my rental units where the cold water was not working, though the hot water was functioning. A technician named John came out to assess the situation but was vague and unwilling to provide any clear explanation. His only suggestion was, “we may just have to tear into the wall.” As someone without plumbing knowledge, I trusted his judgment.

He stated they would need to charge hourly just to "explore" what the problem might be—without any guarantee of a solution—and warned that the cost could be high. What I did not expect was a quote of $760 per hour, which is more than five times the average hourly rate for a licensed union plumber in Chicago (typically around $150 per hour).

This raised serious concerns about pricing ethics. I ultimately declined their service and called another licensed plumber for a second opinion. That plumber quickly diagnosed the issue as a closed shutoff valve, explained everything clearly, and resolved the problem in under 15 minutes. The total cost was $130.

I believe Goode Plumbing’s approach was not only misleading but potentially exploitative. If I had been elderly or unfamiliar with basic plumbing concepts, I might have agreed to costly and unnecessary work. This kind of pricing and lack of transparency reflects poorly on their business practices.

Following my first engagement with Goode Plumbing which was great I had them come back to provide an estimate for “horizontal pipe replacement”. Who knew you could do that? Our house is over a 100 years old and has a mix of copper and galvanized pipe. Estimator, Joey Grippo, arrived promptly and we walked through the process. This is a good option for us because it requires no destruction of walls. Our pipes are in the ceiling of the basement which is exposed. The price is also reasonable. Quite please with our second interaction.

Basi is a true professional. He came to my home to diagnose a pipe leak problem. He took the time to explain what needed to be done and provided me with a quote. Courteous and responsive best describes him. He is a valuable representative of his company.

Really great service. Frank Maldonado and team came out and quickly diagnosed our problem, provided upfront quotes, and a few solution options. We had a problem with roots growing into and around our toilet line. The Goode plumbing team found and showed me the problem and clearly outlined a resolution to prevent this problem from reoccurring.

I greatly appreciated the cost transparency at all stages of the process.

Jon Hartmann, the field supervisor, also came in and provided the same great service.

All of this was also at the end of the day, so I’m sure the team was ready to be done. The service was still super thorough, and did not feel rushed at all.

Loved the service Jacob provided with a smile on his face!! When completed and paid, he asked if there was any other plumbing issue that needed to be addressed. He was SO HELPFUL! Would recommend ANY DAY!!

Another terrific service call from Goode Plumbing. The technician John came to help with an annual maintenance project and fixed several other minor plumbing/drain/faucet issues in minutes (would have taken me an hour watching YouTube videos to get the job done). John was knowledgeable and patient with me as I peppered him with questions. And he was pleasant and fun to talk to. I’m truly grateful for John’s help today.

We (Hermitage pointe condominium )reached out to Goode After what we thought was a small gas leak turned into a very large one. They were great! Customer service on the phone and in person was amazing. We needed to apply for financing and it was very easy and convenient. Basi did a great job of explaining everything that was going on and helped us out everywhere he could.
