He walked me through the entire process, showed me various options and suggested affordable ways to modernize my cabinetry that I never would have thought of! My kitchen cabinets look BRAND NEW! Now let's discuss Jim's professionalism...wow! He returned EVERY email in a timely manner, no matter how trivial my question was. He showed up on time every morning and cleaned up his tools every day as he promised. While working he was cooperative and flexible ( I have two small children he worked around). I was impressed with the professionalism, worksmanship and end results of my cabinet refacing project. I went from dark, outdated cabinets to a light, contemporary style.

We decided to redo our kitchen to light up and freshen the 35 yo look. Rather than totally remodel we considered resurfacing our cabinets. My wife lined up 3 quotes of companies that used a thin plastic covered laminate. I really wasn’t impressed or happy with the products or the business model of the most popular brand.
I looked for someone who used real wood and fortunately found Kitchen Craftsman. After reading the positive reviews and seeing that it was a local business I set up an appointment for a quote.
Right from the start we really were impressed with Jim. He explained in detail how he works and showed us samples of his work.
He gave us a quote that seemed more in line with how he refaced the cabinets vs using a laminate.
The choice to use him was easy , the choice for the wood, stain and design of the doors/ drawer front was not.
Jim’s input was immeasurable and helped to make choices for the remainder of the project.
As a retired surgeon I was impressed with his planning, preparation, organization, vision and skills. He truly is a Craftsman.
We are thrilled with the end result and highly recommended Jim Pace- besides being talented he is truly a nice person.

We have had our new cupboards for a few months now, and we are so pleased with Jim Pace’s work. They are just stunning! Jim was diligent and professional every step of the way. We had planned to have the floors replaced, and he suggested we do the floors before the cupboards.
After the floors were installed, we contacted Jim again, and by this time, he was experiencing delays due to COVID. We had to wait several months, but Jim kept us updated on his progress. It was truly worth the wait. Not only did we have all our kitchen cupboards resurfaced, Jim also
converted some of them into drawers. This has made a huge difference in getting larger, heavier items out of the cupboards without struggling while also increasing the storage area. He completed the work on time, with minimal disruptions to all of us working (and schooling) from home.
Everyone who has seen the cupboards so far have been impressed with how beautiful they look and the quality of the work. We cannot recommend him highly enough!

Everything was done exactly as promised at the time and price promised. Jim was very helpful and patient with us in selecting the wood and finish and gave great recommendations. We're absolutely delighted with how everything turned out. This was such a practical and easy way to have essentially new cabinetry. 110% recommended.

After much research and a discussion with a kitchen designer about replacing versus refacing, I hired Jim of Kitchen Craftsman to reface our kitchen cabinets. We wanted to keep the original footprint of our kitchen but needed a cabinet update.

From the initial meeting right up to the finished project Jim was professional, courteous and personable. His selection of cabinet colors was impressive and as tempted as I was to try something new, I stayed with simple shaker style white with black hardware.

Jim was at our home when he said he would be with all supplies on hand. Each morning he set up the work site in our kitchen, protecting our floors and counters and at the end of the day, all was tidy again. The same for our garage which is where he did all of his cutting and sawing. Jim gave great suggestions, like tip out drawers by our sink and was a true professional and the job he did shows it. I was extremely pleased with his work. The finished project is even better than I imagined it could be. Thank you Jim for a job well done.

Great value and superb workmanship!

Our kitchen sported country oak cabinets and a laminate countertop, circa 1986 and was in dire need of an update. We found Jim Pace of Kitchen Craftsman in Geneva, IL through a reference from a real estate agent. Jim came by to estimate the job and showed us some samples and we also viewed his gallery on his website (Google "Kitchen Craftsman Geneva IL" to find it). Jim provided a clear and very reasonable estimate and explained the process in detail.

It took a few weeks for our materials to arrive, and Jim kept us updated throughout the production process. Jim’s craftsmanship was evident throughout the installation process in every aspect -- from the careful fit and finish of the doors, drawers and refaced surfaces, to the way he keeps the work area clean and orderly. Jim provided excellent recommendations on changes to convert a couple of cabinets to wide drawers as well as a great solution to an old country desk area.

The quality of his work is second to none and the materials he uses are top notch. Jim’s cost and delivery estimates were spot on with no surprises and a great value for the money.

My experience with Hogan was fantastic from start to finish, on a new construction. Project manager John Vendafreddo was exceptional. John was always available to talk or visit the site, and his attention to detail was matched only by his passion for the project.
