Constraction reviews in Warrenville, Illinois

Robert is a thorough professional and we had a great experience working with him and his team. We had to get our entire 5 bedroom 4000sq ft single family home completely renovated, because our tenant had destroyed the house. We had to get the entire wooden floors sanded and polished, carpets stripped and Kiltz treated and walls/ceilings painted.

Robert completed all the work within 2 weeks and most importantly he did everything while me and my family were staying out of state in Philadelphia. After meeting Robert and speaking to him, I handed him the house keys, and we laid full trust in him. We instinctively knew that he is a thorough gentleman and a great professional and would get the complex job done on time. Robert kept sending me pictures of work completed each day and he started and finished his work with utmost precision and on time.

His team subsequently remodeled our master bathroom and also helped with kitchen remodeling. You will not be disappointed with Robert and his team’s professionalism, workmanship and punctuality. His quote estimates and final pricing are fair and accurate. I thoroughly recommend him and his company for any handyman and house repair service. I will rate Robert A+++, since we got our house back fully restored, after being gutted by a nasty tenant. Loved working with Robert, Roger, Mike and Mark. Excellent team.

Robert-The Owner-perfectly finished my shower door and drywall repair. Everything looks perfect, as if they were never damaged. Thank you Robert 🙏

We've hired Silver Hammer several times over the past 5 years, and we are always so pleased with Robert's work! He has done plumbing, dry wall, and skylight work for us. His work is thorough and reliable, he is efficient, he keeps the workspace clean, and he's easy to talk to. His rates are also fair. I plan on calling him again in the fall for more plumbing issues. I definitely recommend him.

This company deserves 0 stars! They were told to do a small tiling job which they dragged on for 2 weeks and then turned up at 8.30pm and left at midnight after leaving the whole bathroom with tile dust from cutting in the bathroom. Grout didnt match and quality of work was poor. The head office did not pick up nor did we get any contact from the guy who did the job. Total waste of time and money as we paid half up front! Now we have to find another guy to fix this mess!

UPDATE 11/20/2025
The owner of Silver Hammer reached out to me after reading my review. Unbeknownst to him, the sub-contractor had also taken money from other jobs without finishing them or not doing a good job. Mr Omelson came to the house to hear our side and see what the contractor had done. He was very sorry this had happened to us and gave us a refund and some compensation. If we have another project we might consider Silver Hammer.

Israel was great to work with. We are very happy with how he and the company helped us get a small roof repair done quickly and with personal care. A good experience.
Thank you!

Outstanding service and attention to detail. Our new roof and siding created an entirely new house thanks to the creative input from D&M. Rather than just do what you want, they provided incredible ideas to enhance the looks of our house. We cannot wait to get our next project going with Israel and his team.

D&M's team worked with me to understand exactly what I wanted. They scheduled my job shortly after my estimate and did an excellent job on the project, even handling an additional door installation I needed. Highly recommended.

D&M sidings did and amazing job on my house he did everything perfect, they got all the details right. Israel is a very nice person he is a very nice person. I would recommend him for anybody who needs siding done

Israel is awesome! He and his team did a fantastic job on our siding, roof, gutters, & more. Quality workmanship. On Time. Professional. Courteous. Excellent Communication. Trustworthy. I would definitely hire him again. You can trust D&M to make your home beautiful!

We had D&M replace all of the the wood siding on the South side of our home. The sun kept damaging the wood and paint on that side of the home. We kept spending LOTS of money on wood replacement and repainting over the last 8 years. D&M replaced all the wood on that side of the home with James Hardie concrete pre-painted panels. They finished the job in a matter of days, even though the daytime temp soared to near 100 degrees. I am pleased with the quality of work and now I won't worry again about replacing wood and repainting. The new siding matches the color and design of the original siding. Thanks to the owner, Israel, for a job well done.

I just want to thank Israel and his team for their professionalism and installing our new siding in a timely manner. I applaud them for working through the cold IL weather. Their work speaks for themselves. Highly recommend this business for your next home improvement.

My mom had a hole in the roof from a tree falling. D&M Home Improvements came over quickly to put a tarp on the roof because they knew rain and more snow were in the forecast. They came when they said they were going to and were friendly. The job was done and my moms roof looks amazing! The gutters also were done nicely so leaves and twigs don't clog up the gutters. They did a wonderful job. I recommend them to everyone that needs home repairs.

Worked with Israel from the beginning. He was thorough in the description of the product (Euroshield) installation and the price was very competitive. He also mentioned the potential for an insurance reduction based on the product being installed. The crew was fast, clean and did a great job with install and clean up! I will use them for any other home projects I have in the future. Great company!

We had Euroshield shingles installed 1 year ago and they are a great product. We don't hear the rain hitting the roof, it has hailed twice and no damage and in the winter the snow has slid right off the roof as it started to warm. Great product!

I needed a rear gutter and downspouts replaced due to sagging and ice damage. Israel was fast to come on site - and immediately spotted the problem and quoted a solution with leaf guards. His quote was competitively priced, he was responsive , and his crew did a great job. Highly recommended!

This company was brought in to repair an unexpected leak in my roof during a deck project. They were prompt with the estimate and in completing the work. Israel was professional in explaining my choices. They did an excellent job repairing the roof. I would confidently look to them for services in the future!

We had a new roof, siding and gutters installed recently. All of the workers were polite. They did an efficient job of removal, installing and clean-up. The jobs were completed promptly. Highly recommend.

I am the president of a small HOA in Geneva. I had several small jobs that I needed completed regarding vents on the outside of the house and Israel responded quickly and came to assess what needed to be done. Most companies did not even want to look at these small jobs however Israel took it upon himself to respond quickly and come out with another team member to get the items completed. I also have two very small issues with a piece of siding on two different buildings. Again most companies would not take on that job and they wanted me to supply the siding. Israel took a sample from each building and he is going to track down the siding and do the repairs. He is very knowledgeable and informative. I highly recommend this company.

The Euroshield Beaumont shake roof looks great and so do the new gutters. Israel and Cory were very easy to work with. They always responded quickly and took care of any concerns that we had.

Israel was such a model professional contractor. As a homeowner in this environment you are so skeptical and gun shy but he came as a referral and he exceeded every expectation- his employees were exceptional-our roof looks awesome and after 2 days of serious demo… looks like they were never there except we have have a beautiful new roof. Great company, great guy-can’t recommend enough.

D&M came out and replaced the Hardie Board siding on my house. They were professional and hard working. They were very responsive and really know how to properly install Hardie Board. It was a great experience and we love how great they made our house look. I highly recommend them.

Israel, the owner of D&M, is one of the most punctual and reliable contractors that I’ve ever worked with and a really nice guy. Several issues came up during our complicated siding and roofing project for my 125 year old house and Israel was able to satisfactorily overcome most of the issues including multiple follow up visits for punch list items until I was happy with the finished product.
