Very bad at communication. The original quote is probably not what you're going to end up paying, do Your research , and you should probably go with another company. We've been trying to get work done for I think almost a whole year.

Richmond Exteriors is THE go-to for exterior needs! They just completed our fence and we couldn’t be happier. Evan and Terry made sure the sales/permit side went smoothly and the fencing crew did a great job completing the fence quickly and professionally!

If you are interested in having a fence installed, look no further than Richmond Exteriors!! Friendly, quick turnaround, reasonably priced, and most importantly, outstanding finished product. Marty and Evan were amazing to work with. Would highly recommend Richmond Exteriors!!

A great experience having an area fenced for our large dog in our wooded back yard. Mike gave us great advice on the type of fence that would work best in our terrain, and the work was scheduled quickly. The crew did a great job in two days, and our Gertie ran zoomies for almost 15 minutes straight when she got in it the first time. Will definitely call Richmond again for any future needs!

I can't say enough about this company! Bryan was very friendly and extremely helpful throughout the whole process, and the installers that followed were fantastic. We had half an acre of 6-foot shadow box fencing installed on some less than ideal terrain. They came weeks earlier than expected and got it done in no time. Fantastic group of guys and the precision throughout is undoubtedly very impressive. I was able to get the fence of my dreams for my pups within budget that no other company would provide. Thank you so much!!!!! ❤️❤️

Contacted them in the start of Oct 2025 to replace doors since I wanted to keep 1 interior door and everyone - company- I contacted would only do them in sets. Started in mid October now in Jan. 2025 they are finally finished.

Continually poor communication from the company. The installers were great in communicating with me. Installers (only 1 residential installer at the time) were great in communicating with me but not the company. I had to continually call the company to inquire about status from every thing from the estimate which isn't broken down just 1 charge for materials & labor.
Additionally when they replaced the front door they did not replace the front entry door lock as the one purchased did not fit the door. This left my home unsecured by them for 2 days.
The storm doors didn't match the brown showing more green coloring and not close to matching the brown doors. I had to go choose the storm doors myself to insure it was what I wanted. As of now no offer of discount for inconvenience.
DON'T use them if you want something done in a timely matter.
I had since discussed this Evan. I received $125.00 in "discount. We discussed that I understood the weather delays, the lack of communication from the business, that they are a small business and explained to him that I have had small business in the past & currently work for a small business. He then offered me an additional $25 to change my review to a higher rating so they wouldn't have to pay a larger sum to Google to advertise. I told Him I would think about it & declined the $25.

It is strange that after 3 back and forth about my invoice stating that I had windows instead of doors that the Invoice I finally received was detailed with the doors not just a line item, but still not broken down into labor & materials. I personally went to pick out the storm doors at Home Depot, so I know how much they cost. So here is my updated review. They may be fine in commercial but not residential.

The biggest issue is lack of communication and missing appointment dates. You are continuously told vague statements of when the work is gonna be done and given no real detail and then when they miss those dates, they don’t call or communicate with you on why. So if you take a day off work in order for them to do the work on the house and then they don’t show up that’s a problem. I understand that weather can delay things, but when they say “the next clear day we’ll complete the project” then you don’t see them on the next sunny day and they don’t communicate with you why, and you can’t get ahold of them at their office, it’s a problem. The team that actually comes out and does the work also can’t communicate. When they were done doing part of the project, they left without saying anything And since they only had done part of the work, I had no idea what was going on, And then they came back at a later time to finish the part they were working on and never knocked on the door to say they were back or anything when they left. The majority of the project still isn’t done and I have no idea when it will be.

We had Richmond Exteriors install 270 feet of black vinyl coated chain link fence and we are very pleased with the result. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant and conscientious. The installers were careful to confirm the exact placement that we wanted. The fence looks great. If we need anything else we will call Richmond Exteriors.

Richmond Exteriors was very professional during their initial evaluation of our fencing needs. Mike (sales) did a great job walking our property and getting the feel of what we need and want. Within 10 days, we had our fence built and it looks GREAT! We opted for the 10' gate and it is sturdy and opens with ease. It locks from the inside which provides a sense of security.

I am enormously pleased with the quality of work performed by the company with the fence installed by the crew. These three gentlemen were friendly, efficient, and competent, an excellent combination. They also showed a great deal of patience with someone who spent time looking over their shoulders and generally being in their way. In short, two of my neighbors already congratulated me on the fence. I won't hesitate to recommend you to anyone that I know who is considering installing a fence. Thank you.

Had a gutter inspection and paid $0 for a fix, the inspector, Thomas Hickerson, just came and gave us some easy to follow advice on how to fix a leaky gutter issue. Can't remember the last time I had an inspector come out and not try to convince me to buy the most expensive thing they sold, but this was different and I trust them for it. They might not have got my money today but they have my business for life and I will be calling them in the future for any and all exterior needs

I had storm damage to siding on my house. Evan worked to negotiate a settlement with my insurance company—workmen came the day they were supposed to—work was done in a little over a day. All waste material was picked up—they did a great job. Highly recommend for exterior work.

I used Richmond Exteriors in 2022 for a new roof and in 2026 for new gutters. I am impressed by the easiness to schedule a quote and the projects themselves. They are very communicable, have competitive prices and offer financing. I have recommended them to friends and family and will use them in the future.

We had 200ft of 8’ red cedar fence installed. With a small weather delay, the installation went smoothly. The crew had to be creative with the design of the two gates to work around existing limitations. The crew was pleasant to work with and we love the results.

The cost came in well undercut expectations.

We are looking forward to working with these guys in future projects.

We hired Richmond Exteriors to replace the siding on our home with James Hardie. We unfortunately had to take legal action against them due to so many issues, and they had to pay us 65k for things like damages they caused. The whole experience with them was a nightmare. They were working on our house for about a year and a half when the Manager stopped responding to us. After 90 days of silence, we took legal action. Below isn’t even everything that they did. I just hit the review character limit. My photos all have captions/descriptions on the mobile version.

First, Richmond dropped off the wrong trim and also not enough materials to cover our home. When they started working, we noticed that when you pushed on the stucco boards from the outside, they would push in, and had no stability behind them. We paid for OSB but they did not install OSB. Everything had to get re-done.

They left holes open in our siding for months. We found squirrels in holes in the sides of our house, and heard them in the ceilings.

James Hardie reps had to come show the Richmond installers how to install the siding correctly.

We had to tell the Richmond installers how to properly apply weatherproof tape around the windows, because they weren’t doing it at all.

They left an open, loose sawblade on the stairs of our walkway after leaving for the day.

They tried to use painted primed trim instead of ordering the more expensive, real J.H. colorplus boards that we paid for in our contract. We called them out on it, and they had to re-order the REAL Color Plus boards.

Water leaked into our living room wall/floor because the workers messed up some flashing on the roof right above where it was.

They kept running out of materials so they would always have to re-order more. Each time they had to reorder, it took roughly 2-3 months. This happened probably 5-6 times.

MAJOR water damage happened to multiple interior walls, flooring, and ceiling. An inspector confirmed that the water was running off a roof area, into an open wall hole to the right of it.

Their gutter guys broke an exterior light and the electrical box that went with it. This was not replaced until almost a year later. They also installed almost every single gutter with the wrong pitch. Water would pour over the edges and down the sides of our windows/siding. A downspout installed also broke off because it just wasn’t ever properly connected.

A bat got into our house through the hole from the water leak since they never patched it up. Our two cats were chasing it, so we had to take them to the vet.

When some old gutters were taken down, they dumped all the gross stuff inside them (and huge 5” nails) all over our back deck, siding and awning, right outside the door. I had to tell them the next day to come back and clean it up.

A soffit board wasn’t wide enough in one of the areas, so they took some stucco siding (completely different texture), to patch it, and make it wide enough.

When they came inside to fix all the interior wall damage that they caused, things got worse. The worker didn’t put drop cloths down, so plaster dust got everywhere. He then mopped everything without vacuuming first, so it turned the drywall dust into paste, and then he proceeded to push that paste into almost all of the cracks in our hardwood floors with the mop. It was insane. 38k of hardwood floor damage.

A trim board was actually falling off the house at one point because they didn’t attach it well.

They dented one of our gutters with their ladder and also incorrectly tethered/nailed the ladder directly through our roof tiles.

The workers shot a nail into our mature River Birch tree.

They didn’t tear off our old wood soffit. They just nailed our new soffit over the old one, even though our contract said they would tear the existing wood siding off.

They never installed a drip edge when they installed the gutters, and it was listed that they would install it in our contract, with us paying for 380 ft. of it.

We had to get our home completely re-sided with someone else, because of Richmond.

Michael Kasnick was great to work with on our fence. From start to finish really knocked it out of the park. Truly one of the nicest fences I’ve seen, he made my vision come to life and give us privacy with our small backyard. Feels like we have twice the room now! Highly recommend you use this company. Ask for “Kaz”, he knows his stuff better than the 3 other companies I entertained and the build quality is top tier.
