I called this company to see if they would install the new hot tub motor that was sent to us by our hot tub manufacturer (less than 1 year old under warranty, and should just be a quick swap) as their website says they offer this service. While the woman was kind she said "they were going to pass on the work" and suggested that I call around. I would not recommend this company.

We lived in Indy for a couple years in a wonderful home that came with a beautiful pool and spa- having never been pool owners, we needed a company that would teach us and help service our pool. The co we had the first summer did not, so we switched to Pate's and they have been great! Lori is very quick to respond to emails and explain what is going on. Russell who handled the major parts issues (the pool was 10+ yrs old and so things started to wear out, as they will on anything) always found options for us, and responded quickly. A couple times we had issues with chemicals being 'off' in the pool, the staff were always ready to help out and make the situation better. Much of Covid we were stuck in MA, and they had no issue continuing to help us out while we were away. We have sold the house and moved permanently to MA, but have highly recommended Pate's to the new family for future service. Thanks, Lori, Russell and all for all you did for us!!!

Definitely go elsewhere for your pool needs. I was told by Dave, the new owner, to take my business elsewhere after they came to open the pool, and all of a sudden the handle to my water tank is
Update - when they did break the handle on my filter (regardless of how it broke) they said they would have to replace the entire filter, upwards of $5k. I called Cicero pools and they fixed the handle for about $140. Not only are pates pools incredibly unpleasant, but incompetent.

broken, and I watched them open it and tear the webbing between the cover and cloth. I merely brought the handle in to ask his perspective, and he told me they have plenty of business and to take mine elsewhere. Not interested in servicing the equipment or even repairing it. If things go smooth I’m sure they are great, if anything at all happens, good luck

I purchased a Marquis spa from Pates Pool & Spa. This winter, one of the buckles on the spa cover broke, requiring the whole cover to be replaced. It is a very poor spa cover design where one faulty strap buckle requires replacement of the entire cover, instead of just the buckle. I reported it to the owner David and he submitted for replacement under the warranty. Marquis was not responsive until David persistently pressed Marquis to honor their warranty and replace the cover. He turned an ongoing bad experience with Marquis into positive outcome and his people to install the replacement were very professional and courteous.

David and the Pate's Pool team do a great job keeping our pool in tip top shape. They renovated all of our plumbing, pump, heater, and even recommended a great pool cover pump. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a pool service company.

We have a good experience with Pate's over the past couple of years. Most recently, we did a major renovation on our vinyl pool (new coping, new returns, new skimmer, etc). The gentlemen that did the work were kind, respectful, and hard workers. We are very happy with the result!

Everyone we have worked with on our pool & now our new hot tub have been fantastic! Dave & Bob help me work through our crazy chemistry issues created by another company & helped us fix a pool leak. The teams that came out to install our new tub were just as great as Dave & Bob. Not sure why I have ever used another company and definitely won't ever again. I was literally ready to fill my pool in with concrete until they help me & now I'm managing my chemicals & saving a ton of money. I would highly recommend the Pate's team.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR LINER INSTALLATION. We had our liner installed in 2021 and called Pates several time due to issues with liner pulling out of the coping and excessive wrinkling. We were told it was because we had a low PH level at the time of closing. We woke today to find our liner pulled from the coping and unusable. We emailed and called Pates with no response. We visited the store as was told by David there was nothing they were going to do to make the faulty install right. They blamed 1 chemical data point as the result of the total collapse of our liner. They do not stand by their work and I would highly recommend you take your business elsewhere.

David's second point that "none of these wrinkles existed when we installed your liner in June of 2021" is a ridiculous statement. Who would expect wrinkles within the same month of installation? We actually had issues starting as early as August 2021. The mention of our previous liner issue preceded us as a homeowner so the claim of us being a "repeat offender" carries absolutely no weight. Lastly, I checked back on my documentation from the October 2022 closing and while David had very detailed analysis of our water this information was not shared with us. As an expected partner in our pool management one would expect the company to share these results for the benefit of the homeowner. Instead, David kept those records to himself so that he could absolve himself of any culpability. We also spoke to other pool companies in the area, showed them the pictures of our damage and their comments were unanimous that these issues could not be attributed to our water maintenance. If you are looking for someone to act as a partner and in your best interest, please avoid Pates.

I worked with David when looking at hot tubs and had a great experience. I didn't feel pressure or anything to buy from them. The atmosphere is a family company and not a corporate business. I do like their nordic hot tubs, hopefully here soon we can purchase one. Thank you and take care!

These people are wonderful. The talented gentleman were polite and kind. They worked very hard in the hot and sticky weather. Because they worked so hard, our pool was finished early! We get to enjoy it for the holiday! This is a top notch business that does high quality work. I highly recommend them! 5 stars!!!

Last summer, my wife and I purchased a Caldera® Spa With a salt system. Though we owned a hot tub previously, we were not particularly familiar with assault system. David and his staff have been extremely helpful in getting us up and going and sustaining us. I highly recommend them for pool or hot tub purchases and servicing.

I worked with Pates Pools to get my pool completely renovated after getting overcharged for subpar “fixes” with another company. David was great to work with even through Covid, supply chain, and subcontractor issues. Highly recommend them. They’re my go to for chemical balancing, equipment, and service.

I have been using All Star for quite some time now. They are great! There is no long wait to get an appointment. They are polite and prompt. My carpets always look great. Will be using them again within the next month. They will do a small or large job. Many of my friends use them as well. Hire them!
