The Happy Handyman and our specific contractor, David B., were incredible to work with. From getting our quote, to scheduling, to the high quality services on our requested projects— we are so thrilled! We have wood trim around our house that I thought would be completely beyond repair and David was able to expertly restore it. Additionally, David efficiently replaced a light fixture in our hall and put finishing touches to a recent floor installation project. Just so thankful to have had HH and David work with us.

Kevin was fair and attentive not missing one detain in his description of expectations.
Dave Ellis was breaking a sweat. He is talented. He knows WHERE a picture will look great according to balance, lighting, and colors.
Dave made certain my keyless entry was working and removed any kinks from the system as Kevin helps later with cell phone set up links using WIFI.
My closet doors have the correct tracks and work again.
It was apparent no job was too small, nor was any job too big!
You can’t go wrong with this team.

The entire process was very easy and efficient. Tristian was scheduled for some outdoor repairs on our wood siding. He was friendly and the work was fantastic. We will definitely be using Happy Handyman again in the future.

Having hired a few other home maintenance operations in the past, I found Happy Handyman to be the best of the bunch. Thorough, knowledgeable, friendly, and quality work. I also appreciated that they are tech savvy with an easy to use portal to view your submissions, make payments, and submit additional requests in the future.

Bryan was punctual very hard working, professional, meticulous, friendly, made sure I understood what was going on at each point in the process and was a pleasure to have working on my floor and I’m really pleased with the results. I will be doing more of my floors in the future and will definitely be calling them. Also their estimate was very accurate so there were no surprises. There were additional materials needed and they also did me the courtesy of obtaining those and picking them up as well as returning the unused portion. They got me scheduled quickly and my overall experience was really good and convenient. I have also used them for other projects and everything has been great. As a single woman who isn’t very handy and who has dealt with other ppl in the past, these folks are very good honest, dependable and fair.

I hired the Happy Handyman to hang up a set of cat wall shelves. Triston came for the install and was amazing every step of the way. He was very kind and knowledgeable. He offered weekend availability, which worked perfectly with my schedule.

Overall, the company offers reasonable pricing and has great communication! I highly recommend them for all your handyman needs!

Bryan was the tech that came out to do a few fixes around the house. He was very courteous and polite! He walked me through everything and was able to complete tasks efficiently and promptly!

David did an awesome job on my projects! Putting up 2 solid wood doors that were NOT PREHUNG! Sanding and staining 2 doors and matching the stain exactly! He was very good at clean up! We were in a major pinch when one of our scheduled installers was a no-show at the last minute. Kevin and Josh stepped up immediately, took on the job with zero notice, and handled everything with total professionalism. Even though we already told them this over the phone, we’ll definitely be reaching out to them first from now on!

Bryan R. did an excellent job repairing the tile in my bathroom floor. He actually accomplished the impossible and was SUPER accommodating to my schedule. So grateful for his work and kindness!

I debated for several days whether to write this review or not, not too keen on writing “negative” reviews, & genuinely liking Randy as a person. However, after reflecting on the job he did for me, how it turned out, & how much he charged me, I feel like I must share my experience.

I had bought one of those 8x6 resin shed kits on Amazon (my first mistake) & hired someone off Craigslist (my second mistake) to put it together, which they royally screwed up, namely the roof. A few pieces were missing, to be fair.

After seeing some great reviews for this guy, I brought him out for an estimate & to see if it was salvageable. Randy assured me it was fixable & quoted me $350 to take the roof off & rebuild it.

I will say that he was always punctual & professional acting. But as I looked out over halfway through the quoted time, he had taken the shed apart, all the way down to the floor. So I checked in, & he assured me that I was gonna have a working, finished shed, though it’d take a couple extra hours.

Fine, I said, I just wanted it done & functional. A couple more hours pass, nearly double the quoted time. And he just gives up, says the best option is to throw a tarp over it & call it done.

It will be fully functional, he says. But it’s not. The corners blow up, the doors don’t work hardly at all, & the middle sags with any rain. He assured me again & again that I’d have a functional shed, & I really don’t.

Randy kept bad-mouthing the previous people who first put it together, talking about professional quality & integrity. But at least the doors worked (though they were on backwards, okay) & it had an actual roof (though there were a few small gaps).

In the end, he ended up billing me for eight hours on a job quoted for four hours & an end result that would’ve taken two hours (removing roof, flipping the doors, & “installing” the tarp) if he had been honest from the get-go.

With his confidence & good reviews, I trusted that Randy would do right by me (my third mistake). He has not, leaving me with a shed that is less functional & less stable than when he arrived, with nearly $600 less in my bank account.

If Randy had half the integrity he claimed he had, he would have been more aware & upfront. He acted like he did what we agreed on, very quick to send the invoice in the middle of the night.

I have been waiting for him to reach out & apologize. Nothing. I would like a refund of most, if not all, of what I paid him since I’m gonna have to pay to replace the roof he dismantled & did not reassemble. I had hoped we found our new handyman, but not after this mess.

RESPONSE TO YOUR RESPONSE:
I appreciate your response, but your only concern seems to be the money. You even say 10-8:30, which is 1) not 12 hours as you state and 2) you started at 10:30 and 3) you took at least one break. So at least be honest there.

Fact is, you DID only end up doing a simple tarp job. If I asked you to patch a wall, you spent twice as long as quoted working on it, and I still ended up with an unpatched wall, would you still charge me for patching the wall? I paid you to do a job, you said you’d do it, you didn’t do it. Simple as that.

I am changing my review to one star to reflect the complete lack of remorse for further ruining my shed and charging so much money for NOTHING. I will deal with it myself, which I should have done in the first place.

We hired Randy from Hoosier Handy Help to insulate and drywall the unfinished portions of our garage and have it paint-ready. In our agreement, he even stated "Sand and finish drywall to paint-ready surface". He quoted us for 3 days work to complete the garage with one additional day to install hardware on our cabinets. It took him 4 full days to work on the garage and we haven't heard from him since. The garage work he did is definitely NOT paint-ready and he left us with a huge mess that he promised he would clean up. He also left hardened mudding compound on our brand new garage floor surface. He left saying he wouldn't be able to come back to finish the job he quoted us for a few days as he had other jobs scheduled (plus we were going out of town for a week) but that he would reach out to us to reschedule a date to finish the job as well as give us a quote to paint the garage, however, he has since ghosted us. We are assuming it is because the work he did is definitely not paint-ready. He seemed nice enough and qualified for the job but we are disappointed in the outcome to say the least. I would suggest if you hire him, do not let him do drywall. I wish I had read previous reviews on this. Also, I wouldn't pay him until the work done is to your approval. Now we have to hire someone else to fix his mess.
