The whole process had a strong start. Our salesperson Chris was excellent. They were thorough in guiding us and answering our questions. From there we had a slight hiccup in communication with the operations side but that was remedied and then the roof project began. They got our roof replaced and everything else on the list and we had no problems after that. They were quick to use up the good weather we had available in December. All in all happy with the experience.
Final note: our roof was part of an insurance claim but we did choose our own contractor.

I was referred to Universal Roofing and Exterior by a family member. I visited their Website and was impressed how this Family owned company gave back to our Community! I had my roof replaced. I know what a "bad" Roofing Co experience is- I was able to escape their clutches! My experience with Universal Roofing was Top notch! The crew assigned did a great job with the exception of not protecting my plants. The supervisor of Universal Roofing documented the damage, I'm expecting some compensation for that; otherwise I am very satisfied with the results. You will not be disappointed with this company. Couldn't thank Universal Roofing & Exteriors enough for the amazing job they did on my parents roof. We have a pretty tall 2 story house in Carmel and the house was a little over 15 years old and it was time for a new roof for sure. We met with Rob Yeary to have everything checked out and we didn't feel pressured at all to have to buy a new roof. Rob made us feel like family, taking the time to meet with us, let us ask ALL the questions we could think of, and took the time to answer all of them. After getting a plan, we not only got a new roof - but we went with some custom copper work around the tops of our roof to give it an even better look. Universal's team came out, they didn't leave ANY mess at all and even protected all of our plants and trees. You would have never even known they were there... and the roof was AMAZING! Thank you Universal and I highly recommend!

We have contracted with Universal Roofing several times and have been very pleased with the work they did for us including roof repair, gutter guard and sky light installations. Their teams are courteous, skilled and respectful of property.

I first used Universal Roofing to inspect my roof twice a year and make repairs when needed. When the roof was 18 years old, I decided to replace the roof and Universal did the work. I also had Universal replace the gutter guards. I have been very happy with their work.

I had them come out to do windows on the house just two of them. Initially they were very professional and seem to understand what they were doing. When the windows came in they took the old ones out and went to install the new ones. I asked multiple times why the window looks so much smaller or why there was such a big gap on top and on the sides of the window. They told me that was normal installation and that they would fill in the gaps and he wouldn’t even know the difference. Clearly you can tell and we also don’t have a lot of windows for natural light so every inch mattered. After multiple conversations with the person installing the windows who said had 20+ years of experience and then also reaching out to the person ordered the windows they both said that this was normal installation. After that I sent pictures to a couple of friends in construction and my dad and brother who all stated that the windows were the wrong size and that they need to fix it and put new windows in. So I had them remeasure the old windows and then I asked the guy that ordered the windows what the measurements were that he ordered and they were off after that he finally admitted the mistake and re-ordered the windows and put them on a stat order. Once the new windows came in the guy with 20 years experience set out in the truck for most of the installation. I also had my father come out to make sure that they install the windows correctly. He had to make a few suggestions when they were installing them and then they try to explain what they were doing and my dad told them I’ve been doing this for 50+ years so they stopped arguing.

I will give them credit for fixing their mistakes. They also installed a piece of the siding in the wrong spot which they came back out to fix. Also one of the weatherstrip on the window was ripped and they came out twice to fix it. I will give them credit for doing the extra work to fix the problems but a lot of the problems or self inflicted by not owning up to the wrong size windows. The fact that they try to install the wrong size windows for over four hours before I told them to order the right windows makes me question their ability to install windows properly or to address if there is any issues with installation

I was grateful to have a referral especially after several disappointing experiences with other roofing companies over the last 20 years.

I reached out to Chris via text, and he responded promptly. We scheduled a time for him to assess the damage. He arrived on time, thoroughly diagnosed the issue, clearly explained what he thought the problem was, took photos for documentation, and resolved the problem, all within 30 to 45 minutes.

Chris was professional, efficient, and transparent. He also provided a helpful estimate for a more extensive repair, should the issue recur.

We have used Universal Roofing not only for repairs but for recent large project of replacing roof with composite slate and new gutters. They were easy to work with and professional at every step. Billing was transparent and held no surprises. The install took some time related to size of project but pace was consistent and crews did a good job with clean-up. Quality and customer support seems excellent. They have the skills for complex projects. If I needed another roof, I would contact them.

Universal roofing is a family owned and operated, and have been around for 35 years. They did my parents roof 20 years ago and did my roof in 2020. Turned out really well, and had no issues.

Universal installed gutters, downspouts, siding, windows, doors, flat roofs, steep roofs, and can do copper bays.

I was thinking about switching to a metal roof over the front porch but decided not to do it.

The roof took 1 day to remove and install. The crew worked until 8:00 PM and was starting at 7:00. Gutters were installed a week later.

Communication was excellent and the quality of work was amazing. They cleaned my yard very well and protected my plants. No issues with the install.

We have a nearly 100-year old house and Universal has been outstanding in allowing us to maintain the outside look with improvements to a chimney, roof flashing and skylights to replace ones that were malfunctioning. Universal is the only company that we use for the upkeep of our roof and any other issues we have on the outside of the house.

The structure of our roof was badly rotted. Matt said the only roof theyd worked on-which was worse than ours, was the oldest standing structure in Putnam county in the woods, a log cabin that was a historical site. They rebuilt our roof structure as well as doing the roofing. Amazing job! Amazing!! Cannot recommend universal roofing Indianapolis enough! We are having our siding and replacing all of our windows next- with Universal.
We have put in new retaining walls,had the land re-graded, put in all new electrical, put in all new plumbing, and spent over $200,000 on foundation work – and the ONLY contractor we had no problem dealing with, who always had an answer, who went the extra mile was Matt at Universal. The absolute best! Wish everyone was this detail oriented and pro active at problem solving!

I could probably write three pages of the terrible experience I had with our farmhouse renovation (gutters, siding, roofing). I unfortunately was caught up, when the company was sold in the midst of my project to a storm chasing company and was no longer the family owned like it had been for years. The last of the issues is my gutter that I have reached out multiple times to no avail no response no one to come fix it and it’s a simple fix. The gutter downspout was not Properly strapped to the house, and it just dangles and swings in the wind. I’m most likely gonna have to call another company to come and try to do something about it because I can’t get Universal to return my phone calls emails text messages, etc. these pictures seem minimal, but if you only knew the impact of what was really done and had to be removed all the siding roof repairs and they had some crews, that in my opinion I had no idea what they were doing. I did have some good experiences with some of the project managers were good. One guy was leaving and he just said terrible things about the company. The other PM guys were pretty good. All in all I would never use this company ever again.
