Reviews of local pros in St John, Indiana

I used Max and his crew at Cutting Edge to clear out our existing landscape and stone... (So so much stone ) and prep both front and backyard for new landscape.

His crew was fast, efficient and professional.
And biggest plus...reasonably priced for all the work they did. Cutting Edge really saved us tons of time.
Look forward to using their services in the future. Until than I will be recommending them to all my friends and family.

If you are in need of landscaping work of any kind I highly recommend you look into Cutting Edge.

Cutting Edge was recommended to me by my landscape designer. I was put in touch with Max who was extremely responsive, friendly, professional and took all the initiative. Max and his crew crushed the work we needed completed.... His team exceeded my expectations and exceeded the contracted scope of work.

After completion of this initial project for landscaping, I am contracting with his team again to complete some irrigation repairs. I have told my friends, family, coworkers and neighbors about how happy we are with the work completed and I anticipate utilizing Cutting Edge on my next house. Companies with this level of integrity need to be promoted as this is how business's should be run. I highly recommended this company, please do not hesitate to reach out to his team, they rock!

We used Cutting Edge to re-configure our sprinklers after a pool install. Max, the owner, and his team did a great re-doing & upgrading our sprinkler system. Max is top notch. He’s very knowledgeable and patiently answered all of my questions. Neatly and professionally done job. They also laid sod where the bobcat for our pool killed the grass and some trouble areas. We are very pleased with their courteous service. We will definitely continue to use Cutting Edge!

Max and his crew were true professionals, and Max was personally invested in making sure we were happy. I would recommend Cutting Edge to anyone looking for quality work and a reasonable price.

Cutting Edge Lawn & Landscape is the go to landscaping company for Blackburn Builders! Great quality at a great price! What more could you ask for!?

Max and his team of Jake and the crew did an outstanding job harley raking, leveling and putting down new grass seed for my one acre lot in Lake Village Indiana. They also corrected my drainage issue in the front yard and we look forward to see what he can with some future landscaping project in and around our new house

We recently put an inground pool in and our backyard was a mudhole. Two days after talking to Max from Cutting Edge, a crew came out to start the project. It was just that easy. His crew was polite and professional. They got the job done in 3 days. I couldn’t be happier with the results. If you are thinking about doing a landscape project, just do it!! You will be in great hands with Cutting Edge. No regrets!!

I highly recommend Cutting Edge for all your landscaping projects. They take pride in their work, take the time to do it right, and make sure you are pleased with the results. Cutting Edge: Quality work done by quality people!

Please do not waste your time or money. I do not know where to begin, but my experience with Cutting Edge has been horrific and I never write reviews unless a company is really heinous. From the initial start of the owner texting me to pay him a nonstop even though I am a new build owner just like everyone else he works with. He decided to text me instead of going through my contractor like normal business practice he overcharged me and created a big scene about reducing the cost because he didn’t calculate things properly. Then, when it came to installing my sprinklers, I found out that they were leaking which he has no warranty and refused to fix when another company came out. They told me that the fittings and some Installation was actually old and that’s why it was leaking. Absolutely horrific to work with they are not only rude and unprofessional, but totally not worth the money. So after a bad install installation, a bumpy lawn, conversations with them that they weren’t willing to fix their mistake, several dead plants later, spare yourself headaches and just go with someone else.

Outstanding quality and service from design to completion! Cutting Edge designed and installed a complete landscaping package for our new construction home, including a sprinkler system. Before construction could begin on our home, we needed a landscaping design for the developer to approve - Max provided us with a design & quote within 1 day and included everything we asked for in the design. When it came time to install the landscaping, Max and his crew showed up and completed the job sooner than any of us expected. Even our builder was blown away by how fast it was completed and the quality of work. Thank you!

The crew did a good job with the landscape design, however many issues occurred once the job was completed with our paver bricks shifting out of place. I spoke with Max who had the issue corrected once in 2018. I emailed the office and advised the issue was still not repaired and was advised in the spring of 2019 that the issues would once again be corrected. After numerous emails and phone calls, Max contacted me stating that he is extremely busy and he would send someone to repair the issue during the 2019 season, which did not happen. I have reached out multiple times in 2020 with no response. Living in a new build subdivision, I will not recommend Cutting Edge to new neighbors.

We can highly recommend Cutting Edge for the work performed in St. John. They took my rudimentary design and turned it into a work of art. The entire team was professional, talented, timely in their daily arrivals as well as in the delivery of the various aspects of the project.

We have been using CuttingEdge Lawn and Landscape for several years now for regular mowing and yard maintenance and would highly recommend their yard services.

We recently had some older trees removed and replaced. Both Max and his brother Zach are super easy to work with and the job was done in a timely fashion and the CuttingEdge crew did a great job all around.

When we found that one of the trees didn't quite make it, Max had his crew out the next day and not only replaced the tree in question, but all of them. Could not be any happier with the result and would highly recommend CuttingEdge for tree and all around landscaping services as well.

Thanks Max and Team

Jeff

Cutting Edge does exceptional work. My landscaping looks amazing! The crews are very professional and efficient. Max is great to work with and is very responsive. I would recommend Cutting Edge for all landscaping needs. A++++

We love working with Max and Cutting Edge. They have created a yard that we just LOVE. Easy to work with, great ideas, fast and careful. Max and his team really care and go above and beyond. We highly recommend Cutting Edge Landscaping for your home.

Got to work with Max at cutting edge landscaping. They are total professionals from start to finish. I would recommend Max and cutting edge to do all of your landscaping needs. Max made me a computer-assisted design of what my landscaping around my house would look like before we even started the project. I must say this was very, very professional and outstanding. I have had friends and neighbors use cutting edge, and they all spoke very highly of the company. They do very professional work.

My husband and I started a project that was much bigger than expected. Cutting Edge was there to save the day and help fill and sod our backyard. Our backyard is now beautiful, cozy and inviting. The guys were great! Very respectful and worked fast. They left our place cleaner than when they came to it. 10/10 would recommenced doing business with them.

Cutting Edge truly lives up to their name. We recently had Max upgrade our landscaping, lay down pavers and build a fire pit. Max and his team truly went above and beyond! They were efficient, timely, polite, tidy and very communicative throughout the whole process. From design to final touches - we had a wonderful experience and our new space feels one of a kind and thoughtfully designed. We can’t wait to enjoy our backyard and have cutting edge to thank!!

Why 3 stars? Lack of communication, lack of accountability, lack of customer support and quality of work.

Ask: install irrigation, level lawn, add dirt, add seed and straw blankets.

Irrigation: install is mostly fine. Did not ask where i wanted heads placed, which is fine, but they missed an section of lawn, of which i now need to use a hose and sprinkler. I had to move 4 sprinkler heads to better water my bushes and flowers. all 4 were lightly tightened and one was stripped and all were leaking a lot of water. 3 sprinkler heads were not positioned properly resulting in watering the neighbors yard. They did not provide me tools to adjust them.

Leveling the lawn: did a good job here except for some large rocks hidden an inch down that they promised to remove, but never did.

Seeding and straw blanket: ok job here. very inconsistent application of the straw blanket. I have many dead spots where the straw blankets was very thin and minimal straw, and other places where they overlapped the straws so much that grass didn't grow there as well. They recommended to leave the straw blanket forever and it will disintegrate. The problem with is that weeds started growing and lifting the netting which made it a mess to mow. the mower would catch and start ripping out the new grass. They should have thrown down a herbicide/pre-emergent to contain the weeks. Also, the little flags with steel rods where just covered with the straw blanket with lifted the netting and were a hazard for walking and mowing. and finally the forgot to bury the cable line, which they dug up for irrigation, before placing the straw netting down.

I've called and emailed for 2 months and no response.

Hopefully you will have a better experience.

I've worked with Cutting Edge Lawn and Landscaping several times now, and they always do top quality work at a fair price.
Max and his team of professionals have installed everything from my sprinkler system, brick pavers, shrubbery, numerous trees and all I can say is WOW! I have received numerous compliments from neighbors and even passer byes stopping to tell me how nice my yard looks. Do yourself a favor and call Max! You won't be disappointed!

It was the first time we used Cutting Edge and we couldn't be happier! From start to finish Max was such a great help and his vision matched what we exactly wanted! We had brick edging, stone laid down in our flower beds, removed dead bushes and had new plants put in! His crew did an amazing job and they were polite and professional! If you are looking for any landscaping to get done look no further, I would highly recommend Cutting Edge!
