Reviews of local pros in Ames, Iowa

I loved my service with DG! Affordable professional on time and even helped my husband get rid of some pruning he had done! Recommend him highly! I also like they value trees since a few wanted to get rid of a beautiful crab apple and not just prune it. I value trees and this business does too! They did an amazing job and did it quickly!

Dean and crew removed a tree from my front yard. I am extremely pleased. They did the job prior to their initial projection, finished within the timeline they gave me and at the price they quoted me. All the guys were courteous, safety orientated and knowledgeable. I would 100% recommend them to anyone needing tree service.

Dean and his crew are simply the best. From initial contact through completion of the work I couldn't be more pleased. Prompt service and thoroughness of the work was outstanding. Cleanup of the area and removal of the tree after stump was ground were as if they'd never been there. This is the second job that DG has done for me, and I would highly recommend them.

Dean and his team provided great tree removal service. The quoting process was done quickly and straight forward. Pricing was competitive with other quotes. They were very flexible in getting us on the schedule to meet our personal deadlines, which was important to us. The crew showed up prepared and worked diligently to start and finish a large removal project in one day (removal of 4 large ash trees). They left the yard looking great! We would highly recommend DG Tree Service for any local tree removal in the Story County area.

Competitive pricing, professional service, knowledgeable arborists, careful workers, protected property and perfect clean up of all debris. Highly recommended! Have hired DG Tree Service four times this year. My number one choice for tree pruning, tree removal and stump removal. 5 stars!!

Great company! I recently hired DG Tree Service to remove some dead ash trees on my property and could not be happier with the result. They were fast, friendly and did a fantastic job. My yard was cleaner when they left than when they arrived! I recommend DG Tree Service for anyone in central Iowa who needs the job done right.

I’ve used DG Tree Service on two occasions. First to remove a very large maple in my front yard and then a second time to clear brush from my back yard.

They did an amazing job both times. Dean was very responsive, friendly, and professional. They came when they said they would and their price was better than several others that we got. Great job on clean up too!

Dean and team did a superb job removing an ash tree from my backyard, especially given the tight space they had to work with. Yard looked cleaner when they left than when they arrived. Highly recommend DG Tree service If you are looking for someone knowledgeable that takes great pride in their work!

I contacted DG Tree Service because I needed several trees trimmed and some that I thought would need to be cut down and removed completely. I am so glad I went with Dean and his crew! Dean wasn't a salesman, he knows his trees and did not cut down any trees just to make more money, in fact he said none of my trees needed to be removed. They did the work ahead of schedule, at an amazing fair price, the work was done swiftly and professionally. Can't say enough good things about my experience with DG!!

Dean and his crew are THE BEST! We have used them twice and no doubt we will again!!

I was impressed when I saw DG working at our neighbor's house because they were wearing safety equipment, were working quickly, and were attired in a professional manner. When asked if they could do some trimming for me, they were able to handle the work promptly and at a very fair price. I will use them again.

Everything you want in a tree service. Had a large 50 year old Ash tree removed and DG provided a very competitive bid. They were courteous, professional, and safety oriented as well! Highly recommend!

I had a dying cherry tree and a couple stumps removed for a very reasonable price. Dean and his crew worked quickly, efficiently, did a great job with clean up, and were all very nice. I highly recommend DG Tree Service and will reach out to them for any future tree service needs.

Highly recommended! They were quick to help solve our immediate problem (part of the tree was on the neighbor’s house), but then also returned to remove the rest of the tree as well. Reasonably priced and excellent service. We will definitely be using them for all future tree care needs.

DG Tree Service did a great job removing our giant cottonwood tree! Dean is easy to work with and highly skilled at what he does.

Dean has proven to be dependable on more than on job. Highly recommend Dean and his company to anyone that needs tree work done.

Dean and his crew are great to work with. They show up when they say. Great communication. They do an awesome job cleaning up when the job is complete. This is the second time we’ve used DG Tree Service and would definitely recommend them.

Dean and his crew did an incredible job taking down a big old maple that was positioned in the corner of my backyard, surrounded by my fence, neighbor fences and directly behind my shed. Oy. Not much working room. Dean used a 55' lift then climbed the remaining 30' to reach the highest limbs. He brought it all safely down with the help of his crew, ensuring that the tree not only came down safely but keeping their climber safe through it all. We had unexpected delays getting city work to happen, but every time from first contact to last, he returned my texts and phone calls promptly. Complete courtesy, excellent communication and utmost integrity.

I recently hired them to remove a couple trees and I couldn’t be more impressed! From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and very easy to communicate with. They arrived on time, provided a clear and very reasonable estimate, and safely removed both trees in my backyard without causing any damage to surrounding areas and in a timely manner. The crew was friendly, cleaned up after themselves, and made sure I was satisfied with the job before leaving. I highly recommend for any tree removal needs and will look to them again if need be in the future— they are truly top-notch!

Dean and his team did a great job trimming our large tree in front of our home. His price was great and service was beyond our expectations. I especially appreciated the time that was taken to clean up our property once the job was done. Thank you Dean!

We had two Ash trees affected by the Emerald Ash Borers and chose to have the trees removed. Our schedules finally matched up, and the crew came and did their thing. Trees and stumps are gone as well as 99% of the mess was cleaned up (it's February). The crew communicated well & kept us in the loop.
