Reviews of local pros in Ames, Iowa

We hired Cyclone Contracting to put up blinds in our sunroom and we couldn't be happier! Michelle came out and was a huge help with the selection. I couldn't have done it without her. They came in yesterday after only four weeks and Dan and DJ came out today for the installation. They were great and very knowledgeable about their product. Everyone was fantastic from start to finish!

I love my bathroom remodel! I highly recommend Cyclone Contracting. Tracy helped me narrow down design options, creating a calm and beautiful color palette. Lori responded to my questions very fast. The build portal was great so I knew what was being worked on each day and saw pictures of the progress. The entire crew was professional and cleaned up each day. Thank you Andrew, Rick, Dan, Paul and Rodney for changing a dated bathroom into a modern one! I also had an awesome experience with Barb for the new window covering. Everything looks fantastic!

Cyclone Contracting in Ames, IA just finished a major bathroom renovation for us. It was major because they had to first remove a very large jacuzzi tub and then build a walk in shower and linen closet in its place. Overall, Cyclone did an excellent job. The communication throughout the project was outstanding. The work was done on schedule and we were called each morning before team members reported to our home so we knew what to expect that day. The quality of the work was very good and when the inevitable issues came up we were able to easily reach mutually agreeable solutions. They were extremely responsive to all of our questions and concerns. We were very pleased working with a number of Cyclone individuals, including Dave, Milo, Rodney, Cody, Dan, Nathan, Traci, and Lori. We will definitely plan to work with them on any future projects.

I’m so happy with my new shades and vertical blinds for my living room picture windows and dining room sliders. They really made the spaces bigger and lighter.

The Brackets/Cyclone team was always friendly and great to work with, and had ideas for various options for those windows. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for new window treatments.

I also had Cyclone Contracting take care of various other projects for me. They were always great to work with and did such professional work. I will definitely use them again.

We have partnered with Cyclone Contracting for three projects in our home and each has been a positive experience. Their communication is clear and consistent, and their team has been talented, respectful, hardworking and focused on doing what was best for us.

Had Cyclone-Rathert put in a radon system. The work was well done, on time, and no surprises. Jeremy and Rod were great to work with. The radon level was reduced to a very low level. They used high quality materials too. I also liked that they hired a electrical company to do the wiring and they made sure the system was located to be pretty much out of sight. They came back to test the radon level too/provided a report.

Our experience with Cyclone Contracting, which was our first, was very positive and pleasant. We needed to update the showers and tubs in two bathrooms. We chose Cyclone because we did not want to use the bath and tub remodel companies advertising on television. Project leader Nathan is a very positive, accessible person who kept us informed each day as to what to expect. He is highly knowledgeable and experienced in construction, carpentry, remodeling, and adhering to schedules. So glad to have worked with him. There was a printed schedule and plan for each day, which was followed. We do not remember all the names of the Cyclone workers who worked on this project, but they were all experienced, professional, and polite. The standout worker is Milo. Milo is a talented, experienced professional carpenter who is clearly dedicated to customer satisfaction. Milo is a very detailed worker. Dave was awesome, too. We were impressed with the organization of the team. If additional materials were needed, another Cyclone Contracting employee would arrive with them, instead of our installer having to stop his work. All of the subcontractors were also very knowledgeable, professional, and polite. They arrived on time and worked diligently. What really impressed us was the attention to cleanliness shown by everyone who worked on the project. At the end of each day, all work was satisfactorily cleaned.

Masterbath, Closet and Bedroom Remodel with lots of side projects. It's been a little over a year since my remodel and I absolutely love my new bathroom, closet & bedroom with extras projects. Cyclone Contracting staff was a pleasure to do business with and I plan on doing some more once I get this project paid off. See for yourself, I've attached photos for your viewing. Thanks so much!

We had Cyclone build a deck, and we couldn't be more pleased! Larry did all of the initial planning and designing, and what a wonderful, patient, thorough, gentleman. David and Cody did the actual building and those two guys were unbelievable! So meticulous, so customer focused, so friendly, and everything they did was in OUR best interest - EVERYTHING! They didn't hesitate to reject any lumber that wasn't perfect, and they were constantly communicating with us with suggestions, ideas, and questions. The ladies in the office were so friendly and helpful on the phone.

We had three other companies look at our project, some were cheaper, some higher, but not a single one could walk their talk like Cyclone! Our experience is 5 star all the way!

Fabulous bathroom remodel! Design process with the expertise of Jennie & Nikki was a very positive experience! Nathan excelled at communicating with us on a daily basis! Chad,Dave,Andrew,Rod,Paul and subcontractors were not only skilled craftsmen but genuinely friendly people !

Had my front porched remodeled by Cyclone Construction. The work they did was outstanding, and Nathan, Dave, Cody, and Milo were great to work with. Will definitely use them again if I've got any major remodeling work that I need to have done.

We loved our experience with Cyclone. They completed a kitchen/dining/living remodel for us, including tearing down an old exterior wall and placing a beam to create the open concept we wanted. Jenny, their designer, was amazing and helpful. I had a rough idea in mind and she helped with all the details to make that idea come to life. The Cy guys were professional, hard working and respectful of our family space. Nathan, the project lead, was available and willing to communicate about the smallest details. We have already started another project with them!

We had Cyclone Contracting do a bathroom remodel. There were some hiccups along the way, as in almost any construction project, and they were handled promptly and professionally. We love our new bathroom!

The team at Cyclone Contracting just finished up installing our new living room window and it looks amazing! Dave, Cody, Rodney and Hunter did amazing work, communicated great and treated our house like there own while they were here. Great experience!

We used Cyclone Contractors for the remodel of our bathroom and it was worth every penny. They worked hard to design a bathroom that was within our budget. It’s not only a beautiful bathroom but it’s functional for our lifestyle as well. Their team (subcontractors too) were all professional, responsive, and kind throughout the project.

We had a partial bedroom remodel with new built-in closets added and a remodel of the existing closet interior. The regular door of the closet was replaced with a pocket door, a better design and shelving/hanging system replaced the old wire racks in the closet, roll-out shoe drawers were built beneath the window, and hanging wardrobes with drawers were built on either side of the window. Dave, Andrew, Paul, Darien, and Jennie were great to work with. We love the remodel!

This is the second time I have utilized the services of Cyclone Contracting. The first was for three total bath remodels two years ago. My experience was everything I could have hoped for. I was and am incredibly happy with how the bathrooms turned out. This time my project for Cyclone Contracting consisted of installation of hardwood flooring throughout my house, creating an entertainment room with a dry bar and a built-in entertainment center, as well as replacing the outdoor stairs to my screened in porch with composite decking and metal railing.

My experience with Cyclone Contracting on these projects has been everything for which I could wish. I cannot thank the design services provided by Jennie enough. She was so good to work with. Jennie allowed me to be creative while providing expert advice/guidance along the way. Nathan the general contractor was phenomenal, everything was well organized. I received a Project Book containing a comprehensive schedule. I always knew when sub-contractors were arriving. Nathan did a fantastic job overseeing the work and keeping things on track. The subcontractors were top notch. Special shout out to Ames Tile and Flooring, their hardwood flooring options are extensive, and the flooring installation was very professional. The flooring is beautiful. Shout out to Mullenbach Dry Wall and Painting for excellent, high-quality services. The stair installation completed by Larry, Dave, and Cody was of exceptional quality. The completed product has garnered numerous positive comments. And lastly, I can’t thank Adam enough for his finish carpentry and design skills. Adams’s expertise and meticulous attention to detail significantly enhanced the quality and sophistication of both the cabinetry design and final product. I highly recommend Cyclone Contracting, you will not be disappointed.

Cyclone Contracting did an excellent job of removing my 1974 bathtub and stool and installing a shower and new stool. In the basement bathroom a new counter top with sink was put in. Plastic covering was put down on floor surfaces. A keybox was put on the front door so the workers came and went without any interruption to me. Each crew was friendly, polite and most interesting to visit with or explain information about the projects.
The projects were completed as scheduled. The billing was the same as quoted in the first visit from the contractor. I highly recommend Cyclone Contractors.

We had new counters, and backsplash put in our kitchen. I am very pleased how in turned out. Want to give a shout out to Adam, from cyclone
He was very efficient, he even leveled out my stove put in whirlygigs, I believe he could fix anything. I was also pleased with Ames tile, the young men were very careful to put drop clothes on my floors, cleaned up everything before they left, and I love my backsplash.

When we realized that the giant Jacuzzi tub that seemed so cool 20 years ago was just taking up a massive amount of room in our en suite, we had to act.

An Internet search led us to Cyclone Construction and a team of design-build experts who know exactly how to make a remodel project the most stress-free and positive experience possible.

Calls returned immediately, booties over their shoes, Internet updates on our project, including photographs and details.

We are happy to say “well done” to Cyclone Contractors and highly recommend them.

We know that there was a lot of team members behind the scenes, but the folks who walked through our doors we would like to recognize. Designer-Tracy, project manager-Nathan, care manager-Lori, Dave, Cody, Hunter, TK, Milo, Adam, Dan and all the subcontractors, did an outstanding job!

We had 5 windows, a large sliding patio door, and new external storm door installed. Adam, Rodney, Cody, T, Milo and Dave were the entire crew. They were a joy to work with, and you could certainly tell they enjoyed working with each other. They were professional, always concerned with cleaning up and covering our wood floors, respectful of our time, and the final result is beautiful. We especially like the way the crew finished the outside of the windows to blend with the decor at Stone Brooke. Great company to work with...they even followed up to see how we felt about the work!
