Reviews of local pros in Ames, Iowa

I wish there were 10 stars!! 5 stars is not enough for this impressive bunch of hard working people! We had never before used a Contracting company for any of our home remodeling, and are so happy we chose Cyclone Contracting to be our first. From start to finish, they were nothing but kind, caring, professional and made us feel like family. The design transformation that Jenny came up with for our dark and dinge kitchen was stellar and the team, from the office staff, carpenters, subcontractors to the finishers kept us in the loop daily. We will forever be grateful to them for giving us our dream kitchen, and will always recommend them to anyone who asks!! Thank you Cyclone Contracting, you are the best!!

Cyclone Contracting completed the remodeling of our entire house - kitchen, 2 bathrooms, egress windows, floors, doors, and stairs. The praise we have for this company and its people cannot fit in a short review, but let’s list just several things other than the overall excellent work. The designs that Jennie did were exceptional. She anticipated our needs, gave us detailed estimates, and was very pleasant to deal with. We got an exact schedule on a spreadsheet, and Nathan made sure that everything was done exactly as promised. He even made the custom closets under the basement steps that are impressive and so practical. Lori contacted us numerous times to make sure that things ran smoothly. Other employees, too numerous to list, were kind, considerate, and friendly without exception. We even have a high praise for the other companies contracted by Cyclone.
If you plan any work on your home, we recommend Cyclone Contractors without reservation!

Cyclone Contracting recently finished some work on our kitchen island and we are very pleased with the out come. We were not sure if what we wanted would work and they took care of it without any problems. Lori, Jennie, Nathan, Andrew and Justin are great representatives of your company. A special thanks to Jennie and Andrew who took the lead on making this project a success.
We are vey happy

Very professional. They were very involved from concept to design to installation on my older home bathroom and master closet updates. Their desire to keep the finished as close to original finishes was really appreciated. They did a great job of keeping me in the loop on the job progress and held pretty close to the original schedule. i would definitely recommend them for your remodel project.

We had blinds installed today by Dan and Dave. Both were efficient, friendly, and pleasant. We are so excited for our new blinds and also enjoyed spending time with Barb looking at colors and different styles.
Thanks for a wonderful experience!

We remodeled a bathroom in our home. Our whole experience with Cyclone Contracting was fantastic. From the initial walk through, designing a new layout, choosing all the fixtures and the construction process, communication was exceptional. We have two more bathrooms to remodel and I am looking forward to working with Cyclone Contracting in the future.

Cyclone Contractors exceeded the expectations for the refacing of my condo kitchen and bathrooms. All three rooms look fabulous! Jennie helped me lay out the design, listened to my requests, and knowledgeably helped me choose materials. Nathan, project manager and Andrew, contractor communicated with me throughout the project, answering my calls quickly. They honored my requests and made me feel valued as a customer even when I had last minute requests. BuilderTrend App allowed me to monitor the progress throughout, since I was out of state throughout most of the work. It was exciting to see the progress each day through pictures. I am already getting ready for them to start the next phase, refacing my fireplace! High quality service all around.

Working with Cyclone Contracting was a great experience! I’ve done two projects with them (so far!) and both projects turned out great. Jennie is a great designer who thinks of every detail and was so helpful in making decisions. And Nathan and his team did beautiful work and left my home looking great every day. I will definitely use them for my next project and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to remodel their home!

Great experience with all of the Cyclone Contracting team on jobs well done on our basement bookcase and hobby brew kitchenette projects.

At the start, we talked with Jennie about the project needs and concepts. Plans were drawn up with a couple different options, and with a few minor tweaks, all were ready for the go-ahead.

One of the best parts was the detailed schedule showing the sequence of events with durations. So at all times we did not have wonder on what tasks were to be done by whom, and what was planned next.

Another pleasant part was the interaction with all the trades and especially the Project Manager, Nathan, who ensured everything was done on-time and went out of his way to make sure any issues and concerns were taken care of.

Lastly, another great experience was discussing the daily activities with everyone prior to commencing the day's work. The work scope and details were clearly discussed to ensure work would be completed correctly the first time (without re-work).

Thanks so much to all for a very successful project, including Jennie, Nathan, Dave, Paul, Andrew, and Rodney. And for Lori for project follow-up after completion of all work. Excellent job by Cyclone Contractors. Could not be any more pleased by the quality of work and their attention to detail. Highly recommended!

I want to thank Dave and Kurt for the excellent service and quality work they provided on my window repair project. They communicated with me throughout the process and managed the work with great care to detail. It was a pleasure to work with them. They’ll be back for another issue and repair they helped to cost-effectively address. When I’m ready for my kitchen and bathroom remodel, Cyclone Contracting will be the company I choose to do the work. Also to mention is Lori who is irreplaceable as coordinating and communicating with clients!

We are very happy with our experience with Cyclone Contracting!
From the first call to the wrap up meeting they have been outstanding at every step.
Jennie was a genius capturing our vision and translating that into an actual project. Thank you for making the process of making choices easy for us.
Nathan and Lori did a fantastic job keeping the project on schedule and addressing our questions and concerns along the way.
The whole crew (I wish I remembered everyone's names!) did a great job, they kept the work area contained and cleaned up after themselves every day! Everyone was courteous and respectful.

I would like to highlight a few things that stood out to us overall:
1- Attention to detail at every step of the way
2- Great communication
3- Stayed on schedule
4- Quality of work

We highly recommend and we will definitely call you back for future projects.

Cyclone Contracting is the best! They've done a beautiful job on both a kitchen and a bathroom remodel. I'd like to give a special thumbs up to Milo and Dave who did an exceptional job and made sure every aspect of the project was done to perfection. I highly recommend this company and their employees.

Cyclone contracting recently completed my bathroom remodel.
Communication was excellent and I constantly received feedback and updates.
The designer provided great ideas and layouts which matched the final product.
Everyone who did work on the remodel was friendly, hardworking, and attentive to detail.
This is who you want to hire if you want work done on your home.

I cannot say enough great things about the team of workers from Cyclone Contracting! Nathan, Chad,Paul, Andrew, Rodney, and Dave were all so quick, professional, and talented. We love our new deck and patio and will be recommending them to all our friends!

You can't go wrong choosing Cyclone Contracting. They are experienced, professional and have a keen eye for craftsmanship. We have used them on at least four projects between a new deck, bathroom and kitchen updates and radon mitigation. Nathan build some beautiful floating shelves for the kitchen and did most of the work on the deck. Next project - I am hoping Cyclone can build a beautiful child safety gate for my wide stairway opening. The office personnel is great to work with and they keep you updated on work schedules- so no guessing on who/when someone will show up to your home.

What a wonderful team approach!! I called when I
needed help with getting a new jacuzzi, but ended up getting a new shower, and 3 customized mirrors instead. I had thought my jacuzzi was broken, but the plumber, Kenny, discovered it still worked!
Jenny, Nate, Lori, and Andy were amazing. The gal that took photos was nice too. The demo crew placed a red carpet protective padding on the flooring for removing my old shower. It kept things nice.
I’m now having “Brackets” help me with a customized, roll up, room divider to block the view of my mud room!!
Thanks to everyone involved!!

Cyclone Contracting did an excellent job on our deck project. We are repeat customers who have called up Cyclone Contracting whenever we have a construction or remodeling project to complete. They are thorough and do excellent work. They are also friendly and answer questions that we had while they do the work (Dave and Rodney!). They are also very good with before project estimates and with followup communication. Without hesitation we will use them again and we would encourage others to contact Cyclone Contracting when you have a job that you want done promptly and expertly.

We hired them to replacing our free standing pergola with a permanent one. After they did that we seen a picture of railing they have done before and decided to have them do that as well. Turned out beautifully.

We are very happy with the 2 bathrooms we had Cyclone Contracting remodel for us this past fall. The whole process, from design to construction went as scheduled. Their designer guided us through the process and product choices, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The construction crews and project manager were very respectful of our home and completed each stage of the project as anticipated. We also appreciated being able to see photos of the progress using their on-line tool while we were out of town. We would definitely consider using Cyclone Contracting for future home projects.

We were very pleased with the quality of the staff at Cyclone Contracting with our recent kitchen remodel. From helping us choose various products and features to installation. They were great to clean up every day before leaving and keeping us informed of the process. They remodeled our bathrooms a several years back so we didn’t even consider other companies for our kitchen remodel.

Cyclone Contracting did a fantastic job on my kitchen & bathroom renovation. They helped me in designing decisions, project timing schedule & any issues that arose. Work & materials were top notch. The crew were friendly & professional. I was in need of window coverings, which Cyclone Contracting has partnered with Brackets Custom Window Coverings and Design. I am very pleased with the blinds & curtains. I can not say enough about Cyclone Contracting & Brackets for their help, their quality of work & products. I highly recommend them!
