Our association hired them to do mowing, trimming and blowing. They have never done a complete job and when they do the mowing and trimming it is horrible. They have no organization when doing the tasks

I contacted DeVries outdoors three weeks ago regarding maintenance and treatment for our small pond. I was told they would contact me back within 72 hours. I followed up a couple days later and I was somewhat scolded that I was told someone would call me within 72 hours. I called back a week ago and left a second voicemail, however, as of the present date which is three weeks now from my initial call I have not heard back from their office whatsoever. I would not recommend wasting your time!

I am posting this for my mother as she is not very comfortable on computers.

I had a front area that I wanted to turn into a garden bed in late spring/early summer of 2021, but it was full of rocks many inches deep making the quality of the soil very poor. I had DeVries come out, clear all of the bad soil out, put in a retaining wall, fill in with new "rich topsoil" as was described to me, and then mulch. The only thing that was done well was the retaining wall and the removal of the old soil. The new soil they put in to fill what was pulled out is more clay than soil. I was able to pick up large (6 inch diameter) chunks of "soil" that was solid clay. While gardening, I have also found other inorganic material in the soil. The mulch they laid on top seems to be very poor quality, as if it is remains of trees from their property that they shredded along with anything else that got in. While I realize that all mulch is just shredded wood, you can definitely tell a difference between what is bought at a garden store versus what was put into my garden.

It is unfortunate that this review is posted quite a while after the work was done, but I was unable to get into the garden for a long time to evaluate the product due to having broken my leg badly and being unable to walk in my yard. It is only in the last month or so that I have been really able to get out into the bed and use it, only to find that the quality is almost as bad as it was before they came in.

Overpriced holiday light install and surplus charges when the bulbs didn't work. Limited customer service to resolve the issue in a fair fashion, especially once they knew we would not be needing their services in the future.

I never thought "snow removal" and ice melt applications was so hard to figure out but boss can't do it. The first light dusting of snow this season, my business was covered with ice melt - I let the person applying the application know, they not only over did it but this was a dusting of light snow - I personally took a leaf blower and blew away the snow and ice melt. First snow we had on 1-11 - they failed to remove the snow off the walk way - I did the removal myself as I have a business to run - I didn't complain. This past snow storm I personaly shouvled snow all day, they show up and helped finish the job - I didn't say a word - then we got freezing rain - boss put down zero ice melt - I have told them time and time again, when there is ice, put down ice melt - when there isn't ice, don't put down ice melt - I complained to the owner today only to receive back talk from her - I'm sorry, I thought I was the customer - I am sick of a snow removal company who does not know how to remove snow and does not know when to apply ice melt - I have found over the years, if you remove the snow, 9 times out of 10 you don't need ice melt - BUT when there is freezing rain, you need ice melt - its NOT that hard to figure out

Absolutely no way this company deserves or should have a 3.8 review. We’ve had them 3 times for snow removal this year and they have failed miserably. They don’t show up. Show up briefly and then leave because of broken equipment They do one or two sidewalks and then disappear for hours. Never have a full crew. The heaviest snow fall they didn’t do any driveways so people had to shovel 10” of snow themselves. Why this owner thought he could buy another company when he doesn’t have his own act together is beyond me. Terrible service!!

They suck. It's taken over two days to remove the snow from our neighborhood. They actually shoveled the sidewalks the first day, created a pile a foot tall in my driveway and left it there. They do a crappy job when they do remove snow. Lawn care isn't any better.

Update: The pictures are typical lawn mowing from them. This happened because they mow hills side to side instead of up and down. Which you are not supposed to do on zero turn riders...

DeVries Outdoors has done work for me for the last 10 years. They do my lawn care as well as snow removal. This year was a lot of snow at the beginning of the season, nothing in the middle and a lot again at the end. They showed up and did a great job as usual for me on my property. I would recommend them over all the other companies I've used in the past. Great work!

Finally a lawn care company that has great customer service. Set up mowing services, weed control, and landscaping project. Jeff came out to our home and was very honest and upfront about what was needed. I didn't receive a sales pitch or someone trying to upcharge me, just a guy who knew what our situation was. This is a great lawn care company and I would absolutely recommend them.
