Crystal was on time for our visit. We had several questions about what we could do to improve the looks of our lawn. She answered our questions and provided some additional information. We requested two additional services. She produced two documents on her phone for us to sign and that initiated our payments. Crystal will handle the sceduling of the two new services in conjunction with the two remaining services from our original 2025 lawn care program.

Hired to get and keep my house in shape and they mowed, sprayed chemicals on my flowers and didn't do anything about the weeds on the fence, not did they do the alley side of the fence. Charged me like they were doing the job fully. I'm disappointed. I will be paying someone else next year because this wasn't right.

Edit to add: My husband set up the account. He's already cancelled and explained why. I'm not interested in calling to explain further after I had to spend today dealing with things that I paid to not have to deal with. Two + months of your people just not getting the job done.

They winterized our sprinkler system incorrectly resulting in our system getting a massive crack. It was leaking and jacked up our water bill. They determined they messed up and were going to fix it for free. We schedule the repair. They never came. Never called. I had to call back to reschedule TWO MORE TIMES because they just wouldn't show up or communicate. Ridiculous. Never getting another dime from me.

Radar/Chris has always done an excellent job for us. He goes above and beyond. He’s extremely professional and takes a great deal of pride in his work.

I contacted A+ lawn care which we actually previously in the last two years of done business with regarding our pond. It took them three weeks to return a phone call when I followed up twice actually about just speaking to them. Unfortunately I would not recommend them. Brandon, “The Pond Guy” is actually amazing and I highly recommend him!

Fine job pruning our bushes; easy to work with; and speedy turnaround after I first called them for an estimate (pruning was performed three days after I called A+, asking for an estimate). Mark Harpenau was very responsive and thorough in our initial discussions and followed up the first business day after the service and asked how the pruning crew did.

Cody came and shut down our sprinkler system for the year. He was very polite, knowledgeable and made sure to take his boots off when he came inside. I’d love to have him evertime!

I have had great experience with A+. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating to concerns, always willing to help. My yard looks amazing, and I'm pleased with their work. I came home today while they were there and he was very polite and let my newborn and me by and sat and waited and stopped spraying for us even though he was a good distance away. Very respectful. Thank you.

I participated in a city-subsidized lawn program in Clive, and this company was responsible for the work. They were caught red-handed not overseeding—my wife saw them skipping the job right out our window. After I filed a complaint, they came back and completely tore up our yard.

Now they’re sending me a bill and threatening to send it to collections. This company is extremely poorly run, with disrespectful and lazy employees. Stay far away from them. Choose any other company, and tell everyone you know to do the same!

As a sponsor of Cyclone Fanatic, I reached out to A+ Lawn and Landscape for lawn care. They came out and sprayed for weeds. That was fine. When they brought out the aerator, it tore up the lawn (big chunks of grass/sod ripped out). They left a note after they were finish saying the machine acted up and that they threw down some seed where the lawn was torn up. (If it acted up once, why keep using it?)
Unsatisfied with the quality of the work, I called A+ to have a supervisor come out. When the supervisor was here, he assured me that the places where the chunks of sod were ripped out would eventually level out. Fall and winter came and went. The snow has all melted. The chunks did not level out. There is a place in my backyard that is completely lumpy and uneven due to their negligence.
I expected a lot from this company and was let down. I would definitely not give them an A+.

We had Robert Johnson and team come do our yard after taking a year off of outsourced lawncare- they were so accommodating and treated areas of concern in our garden with extra care and attention- we felt they went over the top to help us out and the grass is looking great now! We really appreciated that and makes me glad we are back with this company!

Back in September they came and aerated our lawn. While they were here they hit and destroyed one of our raised garden beds and told nobody. I noticed and contacted them that they hit it and did not get back to us for 2+ weeks. They then finally sent someone out to take pictures to replace the bed.
We still have not heard any response on a replacement or a refund they said we would receive.

We had also had problems with them not sending our back flow test to the city. This resulting the city sending us a notice that our irrigation was turned off. They had to come out twice before it was actually sent in.

Terrible communication and terrible customer service.

Dillon does his job diligently. I noticed that unlike others in his line of work, whether someone is home or not, Dillon religiously does his spraying and stuff and leaves. More than anything he answers questions with interest.

We've used Berber for hardscape, sod and now rock landscaping.
Berber is very responsive to requests and patient with changes along the way. I had an idea but no plan and he worked with me, sharing his ideas of what would work and why it would look good. He likes designing! Extremely hardworking crew and very efficient. They also cleaned up all their mess which is appreciated.

Great work! I am very happy with the clean up that was done!

Friend Landscaping created our Landscaping 2.0, completely tearing out our old and putting in totally new. Bill understood our goals, recommended the right design and product, and he and the team completed the work with excellence.

We had a drainage problem after any rain the ground would hold water for days you couldn't walk in the grass without soaking your shoes. I contacted Bill and at his suggestion he installed a 4" drain system and now we can have a 3" rain and the ground is wet like you would expect but no soaked shoes. I can mow this with my compact tractor after a rain and before I would have to wait 2 or 3 days for it to dry up. Bill showed up and put in the 500 ft and finished one day when done you could hardly tell they put it in. Excellent work, I will have them do my next project.

We moved into our new construction home in 2007. On June 30, 2018 there was torrential rain in the Des Moines metro, causing a lot of local flooding and flooded basements. This was the first of 3 occasions that summer when a small amount water worked its way up through a concrete seam in our basement floor.
We contacted several local wet basement outfits to see what could be done to correct the problem. The general consensus from the majority of them was that we had more of a landscaping problem than a wet basement problem. One outfit even went as far as to say, "Take care of your landscaping and if that doesn't correct the problem, than call me".
After a lot of research into Des Moines area landscapers, we chose Friend Landscaping for this project. They built up the grade around our house, installed underground gutters, built two small retaining walls and installed a French drain across the back of the house; all to force rain water away from the foundation of the house. In addition, they replaced all of the old landscaping with a clean, attractive layout and long-lasting materials. We've had several heavy downpours since the work was done in September 2018 and it is clear that the landscaping is working as designed and the water issue in our basement has not reoccurred.
We highly recommend Friend Landscaping for anyone who has drainage issues around their house and would definitely hire him for future jobs. Bill kept us informed of the project time-line; and he and his crew always kept the jobsite clean and safe while the work was in progress.
