We have used KC Outdoor Services for a few years now for sprinkler and landscape maintenance with great results. We recently had them reroute all of our downspout drainage underground farther out from the house. The work was reasonably priced and impeccably performed. Tolo followed up to insure we were totally satisfied. Prompt and professional.

Called several fence companies to get a larger gate installed in my yard. Most didn’t want to do it because it was a small job.

Cody gave me a very competitive bid, and upgraded to 2 double metal posts, he was the only one who took the consideration to get a survey to ensure he didn’t hit gas/water lines. They arrived at the time they said they would, and was responsive through the whole process.

KC Outdoor Services was the company that provided landscaping for the builder in my subdivision. I wanted extensive landscaping over and above the builder’s allowance. Tolo was a likable guy, and he represented himself as qualified to do the work I wanted. As it was being installed, it looked great. It wasn’t so great!

The mulch doesn’t stay in any of the beds Tolo prepared. Having 40 years experience, Tolo should have recommended some sort of edging to hold the mulch in place. Nothing was offered. The tree line Tolo put in has brown, dead tree in the center of all the trees, along with brown needles all over the beds. The trees have spider webs all over them. Tolo never explained the trees would look like this or constantly have spiders. I had an arborist out from Ryan who said this happens to these trees.

All of the other trees Tolo and his crew planted, were planted too low in the ground. The arborist from Ryan stated some of the upper root ball should have been exposed. Ryan wants to put air into the root system. This is a certified arborist stating the trees were not planted correctly. One of my trees can’t be saved. It has a huge dead branch and curling leaves. Ryan won’t even treat it.

A retaining wall put in by Tolo’s crew has a dead ring of grass all the way around it, because it has stone under it. Tolo claims that’s the way it had to be installed. Jeremy, from Bretton’s, who does the subdivision maintenance, stated you shouldn’t install the type of retaining wall Tolo put in, up against sod, for the very reason I’m stating - a dead grass ring.

I have terrible tree rings where Tolo installed the trees. He didn’t use good dirt. There’s rock and no mulch just seven months after being installed.

When the beds were being installed, I questioned Tolo about having enough room for the mowers to enter. He said he thought it would be ok. He said we would deal with it later should it be a problem. It’s a problem, and Tolo doesn’t return to fix it.

I have several perennials installed by Tolo that are dying, or have died already. Tolo plants the same perennials at almost every house. Likely because he told me he really knows nothing about flowers.

When it comes to planting trees, Tolo/KC Outdoor Services charges more to plant a tree than Suburban Lawn and Garden or Family Tree. Plus, at Family Tree you can get a five year warranty just by buying $50 worth of Mike’s fertilizer. Suburban automatically gives you a two year warranty when they plant it. Tolo gives you an alleged one year warranty, and that’s if he will show up to honor it.

Beware of Tolo and KC Outdoor Services. Like I said, I thought it looked great going in. I was stupid. I really knew nothing about landscaping and trees. Since, I have talked to a lot of people at Suburban, Family Tree, Ryan, and other places. I was scammed by Tolo…his pricing is outrageous, and his work isn’t great.

He is also a liar.

Jack and his crew were nothing but courteous and accommodating when, as they were finishing mowing the neighbors lawn, I approached them and asked if they would be able to mow my lawn as well. They went above and beyond my expectations; trimming and edging with precision and detail. The yard looks beautiful! Great job!

I had quite a bit of work on our home landscaping including shrub trimming, mulch application, edging, and down spout drain burial with popup feature. Also buried our sump pump overflow pipe. This was done with perfection. Highly recommend their company.
