A Great Nursery!! I found some great plants To bring home, and admired a bunch more. They have some great pre-bpnsai and a nice selection of rare houseplants.

I love this nursery!! Mariah made my very large home plant projects a breeze! She’s an expert with design and such a sweetheart. Can’t wait to go back, you don’t get this type of service anywhere else!! 🌺♥️🍀

Good selection of plants, but rude staff..
My family and I spend quite a bit of money here, but each time I come, I dread asking the staff any questions, because they always make it feel like it’s a hassle. I’ve given it quite a few chances, but, after today, will be taking my business elsewhere.

Place is so cool. Great plants, lots and fountains, seeds from San Diego Seed company. Wish they would turn this into a espresso cafe and add a few takes out along the La Costa Ave.

Well as always the best nursery around, as have posted before complementing Manny whose expertise on fertilizers among his span of horticultural knowledge is wonderful.

Today I am additionally complementing Steven who is mellow with an obvious fine horticultural knowledge base too. Lovely to work with!

I called asking for organic vegetable starts. Twice. The 1st time I was told a new shipment was coming the next day, so I called 2 days later to make sure they were in. I specifically asked for organic veggie plants. I was told yes. When we drove there - a 49 minute drive from our house - none of them are organic! The workers said, oh they’re grown organically but they just don’t pay for the certification. Well, I doubt that. When growers cultivate organic plants, they write somewhere on the plants that they are grown without pesticides or herbicides. These are commercially grown vegetable plants with NO mention of how they’re grown. It’s a frustrating waste of time and incorrect marketing.

Nice selection of tropical milkweed in half-, one-, and two-gallon pots. Friendly staff, too.

This is a really cool nursery with a friendly and helpful staff. I left with a banana tree and some gardening equipment.

I have been going here for years. They always have the best selection of common and unique plants at the best prices and have the supplies that I need, especially those hard to find items like beneficial nemotodes. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I will always go back.

I love this place so much I wish I could live here!

I enjoy visiting this nursery. I've been trying to focus upon growing native Californian plants, and they have a whole section of native plants for me to choose from. The people who work here are all knowledgable and helpful. They ask if I need soil, or plastic for the inside of my car. I like the signs they have in the California native plants section which say more about the plants they sell there.

This is a great place to visit, even if only to admire all the extraordinary plants, and the beautiful layout of the place. It feels like an “open to the public” garden to stroll if you’re looking for a fun new outing, either by yourself or with your family or friends. You’ll probably go home with a “souvenir” too — mine was the ZZ Raven plant, a relatively new and awesome species of plant that they have in stock. 🌱🌞🏡

Extensive selection of plants and fruit trees. The plants are in excellent condition. It's a pleasure to stroll through these well cared-for grounds. I found what I wanted here which was a dwarf valencia (orange) tree at a reasonable price which I'll give as a housewarming. But was also torn between some other plants due to their beauty. The staff here is knowledgeable, helpful and available!

Decent selection of plants, really love the native section. Unfortunately on multiple occasions staff has been condescending and rude when a little kindness would have gotten the job done.

Nice nursery, with a lot of different plants. They have flower plants. Some are inside the greenhouse, some are outside the greenhouse. They have plants with leaves. It’s cute and definitely is worth a visit. Also has parking. Unlike Home Depot, where you might have to park far. You park real close here.

One of my favorite local nurseries. I stop by once a month to check out their 2 and 4 in. succulents to see what's new, they typically have rarer specimens that you wouldn't find at your typical Armstrong Garden.
Even their Cactus Juice fertilizer is $2 cheaper than I've seen elsewhere, unfortunately I think I left mine behind today which made me sad but at least I can take a little comfort knowing my money was spent at a local business. It appears to be dog-friendly, as I've taken my pup many times and have had no issue.
Also! They have an amazing pottery selection. If you're on a budget, they have decently sized terracotta pots of varying shapes for under $20. Love, love, love.

Have been going there for many years. Used to love the place. After today I will not be going again. There was a guy working today August 25@ around 3:00 p.m. I had called the nursery the day before to ask about some trees I had purchased 6 months ago and suddenly some were dying after months of growing and doing really well.None of the obvious things like watering, bugs, soil, were an issue. The person I spoke to yesterday said “ bring some branches off them, take some pictures and bring them in. I did that. The man working would not move from his spot behind the cash register, looked at me and my little bag of branches and sarcastically said”sorry” after I told him my situation. I had assumed they stood behind their plant’s ( like Home Depot or Lowes) He said no such luck”we don’t take back dead plants like the multi-million $ box stores. I replied” then you should put up a Sign here stating that” He shrugged his shoulders. We bought 16 trees from them at 150.00 each.the reason I had always
done business there was the variety of plants and quality of service even though I knew they were much more expensive than any box store. I had to then ask if he had any advice concerning the dying trees and he said he really did not know and it was obvious that I was not going to get any help or advice from him. He looked totally bored, I felt like a fool since I have recommending this place for years. Wow. I get it that stores are understandfsupplies are drying up everywhere, but I think one should not walk away from a place ready to cry because of the treatment given by a place of businesses employee.

This is hands down my FAVORITE nursery in San Diego County. They have a diverse selection all the time. Whether or not you’re looking for houseplants, natives, succulents, shrubs, perennials, annuals etc. Every section has a great selection and is also displayed beautifully. The nursery really flows rather well. It seems they put a lot of thought into what plants to carry as they have plants you can’t find at the chain nurseries or big box stores. I have gotten a lot of plants from them over the years and I think every single one is still alive and thriving. Their plants are always healthy! The same cannot be said from the chain nurseries where the plants are always extremely pot pound and seem to have a lot of issues. La Costa Anderson’s Nursery puts a lot of love and pride into what they do, and it shows! Great customer service as well. Definitely a gem of a nursery. 😊🌴🌵🌿🌺🌹

Nice selection, helpful staff, and the best prices for soil and potting mix that I’ve found. I wish I’d realized that before wasting a bunch of money at Green Thumb when I should have gotten everything at Anderson’s. My only complaint is that the native plant selection could be a bit better but it really depends on the day.

I used to love this nursery, but the last two plants I bought from here (a monstera and a money tree) were infested. The money tree had spider mites and the monsteras had mealy bugs.
The air plants are gorgeous, but within two days of bringing them home, I noticed root rot (I hadn’t watered them yet). I was honestly super disappointed.

Steven was very helpful & patient with our olive tree purchase. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our dumb questions. We will come back because of him.
