The owners here are THE BEST!! They always have such a great selection of plants, great prices, and even better customer service. There is always so much information provided during every purchase, so I always feel confident going home. They always make sure to answer any questions we have and go above and beyond by offering their personal phone number to text with any additional concerns. You can tell they really care about their plants and their customers. I will ALWAYS buy plants from here. Thank you so so much!!

Shop closed when I showed up, posted store hours 10 AM. Sign said will open at 11:30 but the guy did not show up until after 11:30 and promptly locked the door behind him as he entered. The other customer waiting got out of the car and stood by the door. The mean shop owner came to the door and angrily told her 'give me a minute' and slammed the door in her face. I will never go back to this shop and he just lost a high spend customer!!! Mean mean man, some foreigner.

Charming and well-stocked nursery! The gentlemen working were more than happy to help me find a good low-light houseplant, and showed me many options. They even instruct on care and watering. There is a free-roaming chicken who is very sweet, too! Will definitely be coming back, these people know plants.

Lovely little houseplant and home decor shop with an interesting selection of exotic houseplants. There are a good variety of different plant genuses available, including aroids, wall-mounted epiphytes and caudex plants. I ended up picking a cute little Ficus that I might train into a bonsai eventually. The owner Sergio was very friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be back!

The plants here are high quality. We came for plant food which they don't carry. But the shop is very nice and the owner shared some helpful information on how to care for the plants we have at home.

My favorite plant store! Whenever I am in Oceanside I always make time to stop and see Mike, Sergio and of course Gina 🐓. I own a salon in Downtown San Diego and 90% of my plants that I have are from here, and people are obsessed with them.

I appreciate Plant Play above other shops because it’s not some overpriced, trendy store that sells basic plants. It reminds me of the South O I grew up in, good people and not just there for ‘the gram’. They have quality and unique plants! Mike and Sergio are SO knowledgeable as well. This will always be my plant store of choice.

This guy knows his plants. Will most definitely be going back for more. Too many cool things. Very unique pots and plants. I bought two plants; don't ask me the names; I just really liked the colors and shapes.

Plantplay Gardens is a quaint retailer for one-of-a-kind live indoor and outdoor plants. The owner is very knowledgeable and very engaging and helpful.
I purchased a birthday gift for my self, Cereus forbesii cv. Spiralis, a.k.a. Spiral Cactus, a unique addition I have covoted for quite some time. It was priced decently for the size $65 for a 12" tall plant). My friend purchased 3 indoor plants (Hoyas).
Even though the entire showroom is indoors, there were several plants available that are traditionally considered outdoor plants (in So. Cal) including: many succulents and cacti, caudiciforms, even a Hibiscus moscheutos hybrid. The plants I saw were healthy and did not see to be struggling or suffering.
Overall, I recommend stopping by and checking out the curated collection of plants offered here and support small business!

Sergio is wonderful and knows any and everything about every plant. I love having him as my plant consultant! His care and thoughtfulness towards every customer is palpable, he has such a knack for knowing what you need and pointing you in the right direction. Do not skip plant play!!

My first time here was amazing! Words cannot describe how I truly appreciated both owners Mike and Sergio from the moment I walked in the urban oasis till I left. I had the pleasure of meeting them and learning how to care for my plants. From the humor to the knowledge I really admired this place and will come back and visit again!

P.S. I’ve been in the store for two hours talking with them and has been the greatest and longest two hours of my life! 😊

This is the best plant shop in San Diego. The owners are so welcoming. The selection, quality and price are outstanding. Plants are gorgeous and healthy. Prices are budget friendly and you get bigger healthy plants than the ones from Lowe’s/Home Depot. Michael and Sergio are owners that not only love their plants, but they take their time to answer all your questions and guide you with great tips to take care of your plants. Support small businesses like this one!

This place is seasonal and I think you would only go here to get a pumpkin at Halloween or a tree for Christmas if you were really depressed.

Had everything I needed much easier to find someone to help you than the home Depot and a large selection of vegetable plants as well as flowers and trees

What a great selection, there is so much to see, thoughts of a beautiful garden and exotic plants will transport you to an imaginary place...
