I have always known Zamzows to be a great place to go to get advice on lawn care, gardening, fish, reptiles, cats, dogs and other pets. This store is so helpful in guiding people to the correct do-it-yourself supplies to avoid hiring a lawn care service or going to a vet every time you have simple questions about your pet's care and well-being.

They have lawn fertilizer and seed, which is better quality than what you find at grocery stores.

They different varieties of real metal sprinklers, which last much longer. You can not find metal ones at typical one-stop, low-cost grocery stores. I even saw a timer that you can connect to your sprinkler and hose to time your lawn or garden watering. The timer shuts the water off when it is finished.

I also saw different varieties of bulk bird seed and a birding journal for kids (to record the types of birds they find).

They have plenty of reptiles at this location, including a horned caterpillar that reminded me of the caterpillar Absolem from Disney's Alice & Wonderland (except it was green instead of blue and it looked like it had a bunch of eyes all down its sides).

So, if you want to become an expert in lawn care, gardening, bird sightseeing (birding), or caring for your pets, then this is the place for you!

Zamzows has been consistently the best place to go for yard and home project questions and the best products for living in Idaho. Whether it be subdivision living or farm style, even for various house pets, this is your one stop shop for quality service and quality products. Love that they have locations all over as well for convenience.

I went to the Zamzows store on Fairview in Boise looking for the special dry cat food my cat always eats. They did not have any. Lucas Havlina took it upon himself to find the food at the Zamzows in Meridian, said he would pick it up that night himself and get it to the store on Federal Way by the next morning. Now that is service! Kudos to a new employee at the store Gigi who was very helpful and pleasant too. Thanks for all your help.

Great selection of pet and garden supplies. Staff is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Parking can be tight because of the propane filling station but always manageable.

Josh is a very nice person and I am here to respond to the super mean bully (aka William Calvillo) who said unkind and immature things about him. Josh is awesome and has helped me countless times at Zamzow's. I drop in at least weekly, if not more. He has always been very helpful and polite. He is a genuinely kind human UNLIKE William who sounds very mean. William, I hope you see this. Do better. Schoolyard bullying is not a good look.

This place is SO cute- pets + plants! I loved their selection of individual dog chews, treats + toys- all were very affordable. Great customer service too! I loved bringing my puppy in here.

I just went into Zamzows and was basically demanded by some funny talking guy named Josh this morning that my dog can’t be there because he wasn’t on a leash. I get it I forgot my leash in the truck because I was in a rush, but it doesn’t give Josh or what ever it goes by the right to talk to me the way he did. It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it. As a business owner I know how to talk to people. This guys need some manners.
On the other hand I am only giving three star and that’s ONLY because the nice woman Tory was polite and helpful. Thank you Tory. Josh we can tell you were picked to play on any team. You’ll always be the bench warmer for three people hahaha.

Good products and knowledge but lots of problems here. Never get notified from their lawn subscription system, they run out of basic product and then don’t get it delivered when they say. Poorly run.

I have used Zamzows (Federal Way) for 20 years.
Ordered bulk amendments to be delivered a week ago and had another challenging time.
Little Trucking (who they contract deliveries to) delivered 2 yards too much to the wrong client (I am a local garden business owner) and I was told by April at the front checkout that it happens and to 'find a truck and haul it’ myself. This is after paying $85 to deliver and the delivery was within 3 miles of the store. I asked a friend with a truck for help because I couldn’t leave material in someone’s driveway - he took the afternoon off work and hauled 2 truckloads for me to the correct address.
In prior conversations for bulk orders, working with April has been really difficult. She has said that she just wanted to be done with the conversations, that I was ‘breaking her brain’, and she was very short with me. I could tell when going in that she had talked with other employees making me into a ‘difficult customer’ - they wouldn’t make eye contact with me. But I I never got angry, impatient, or rude. I feel guilty and wrong even though I am not sure what I did that was worth the treatment I got. I advocate for my client’s requests I can’t imagine going into Zamzows again - April is always at the front checkout. This has been horrible and I have always recommended Zamzows but I just can’t anymore.
No response from corporate, so I am leaving a review :(

More helpful staff than you’ll find at any other outdoor store. They’re honest and not in it for money. I went in to get supplies to reseed my lawn before winter, but I was informed that I was starting too late and that my seeds would just die. They recommended I start in Spring. They saved me time and money. Another time, I went in for leaf trash bags when they were sold out there and at all nearby stores, and a kind staff member went out of his way to get me some from his own supply. Great prices, great products, great service — you won’t be disappointed here! And as an added bonus, they have an adorable cat.

Always super helpful for all our needs! The lawn program is amazing. Helps keep my grass looking amazing without the guessing of what to do next!

Overcharges on pet supplies. I went in to buy Durbia roaches and they charged me close to 90 dollars on 4 containers of what they claimed as large Durbia feeder roaches which were basically the size of medium durbia 🪳 s. The sizes are in consenstant and ripping off honest buyers.
I shouldn't even be giving them a 1 star review. Sure the store is clean. But they really rip off customers. I even straight up told them that they are ripping off customers selling " larges as mediums. The person that was running the cash register said they couldn't do anything about it." Which is astine that they are ripping off customers and miss- sizing and mis-labling feeder roach sizes and counts. On top of the fact they don't really have the area for the roaches extremely organized on the labeling. I told them like 3 times- they are medium roaches and they are like nope. Those are larges & I'm like yeah. These are smalls. Honestly it's highway robbery that they double charged me for " medium feeder insects." They should do better to have more accurate sizes.

Id love to talk with corporate about my issue if possible. But I doubt nobody will care about my issue where they are over changing customers for " sizes & counts of feeder insects."
