I appreciate the service here. It's nice to have a hardware in your neighborhood that understands and works hard to make sure you feel safe in your home. Star Gate and Empire Locksmith are not the only hardware store in my neighborhood. But they are the only ones I go to everytime I need keys made or locks changed. Thank you Sir.

Star Gate has gotten me out of a very tough spot when I was locked out of my apartment. They showed up quickly, got me into my apartment and installed a brand new lock. All for a price that was much lower than several other places I called. The locksmith was polite, friendly and even called me the next day to see if I was satisfied with the service. I will always call them if I am ever in a similar situation and have already recommended them to a few friends. Saving their number in my phone!

Went in to get some copies of my apartment keys, just moved into the area & spoke with an awesome guy named Chris, they definitely seem to be about their business while also taking care of their guests needs

They designed and installed an air conditioner bumpout for my security gate. They took extra steps to make it blend into the home and it looks great. I will definitely use them again in the future.

They’ll come to the property for reasonable rates and do an amazing quality job switching the locks. If the new locks don’t fit the door frame perfectly, that’s okay!

They’re handy too, and can custom tailor doorways if needed for proper and secure closure to be assured.

Plus, the shop itself has every kind of key! Ive gotten mailbox keys, complicated Medeco keys, to standard $1.25 keys all done there for the tenants of my small multi family.

Today, for example, I made 15 keys for all of my tenants (new doors with new locks), of which I made a copy of 2 keys mistakingly of the wrong Key.

The worker’s boss, a complete gentleman, was completely understanding about the easy key mixup amongst so many keys, and made the needed copies free of charge!

I was locked out of my car with my baby in my hand, called star gate & empire locksmith and 15 minutes later my car was opened and the technician even helped me seating my baby in the car seat, I was so relieved I paid him the fee witch was not expensive he saw me with the child and he even refuse to take a tip.

I had been coming to this store for 12 years. The owner and employees are very friendly and efficient. You can most of things you need to do little job around the house. Definitely I recommen them.

absolutely a scam! I asked how much to change a lock on the phone with my own item, they told me it’s $75 standard fee. When the person came, he literally oiled my lock and changed the handle bar, using ALL MY PIECES, and asking me for 219 dollars. Said every piece fix is a different price!!! Don’t ever ask them to come change your lock, they will scam the hell out of you!!!!

Today I was victim to doing laundry & locking myself out. I was panicking because my keys & spare were both inside. My super referred me to this company & wow!!! Mike was the technician who helped me. I swear he came in under 10 mins and helped me out. He was friendly , professional during the service & reasonable with his pricing ! Use these guys they’re good!!

They came to change my locks a week ago , when I called them the gentleman on the phone was very helpful and polite explain to me about the procedure of changing my locks and prices.
The technician came did his job in a very professional manner, and the price was exactly what I was told.
I would definitely recommend their services.

If you live in the area or are in the area avoid this place. The workers sell you an item that costs nearly a $100 but does not specify the return policy, when you yourself inquire about it, they vaguely say "no refund, just exchange or store credit." But when you decide to go back an exchange the item, they say they don't sell used items therefore they cannot accept the item back .The owner suddenly comes up with many policies that were never mentioned at the time of purchase. He doesn't even listen to what the customer has to say, he cuts you off, shakes his head to get you upset. Once you raise your voice he says he tried helping you but that you're getting aggressive. It's clearly a tactic. It's honestly a shame.
He then says you can make a complaint but when you try to take pictures of their written policy (which are just as vague), he tries wavering you by saying he has been inspected so many times before that he isn't scared. First of all, a complaint is not about scaring anyone, it's about getting an unbiased, neutral individual to assess the situation, and second, that last statement should also heed as a warning because clearly people have been complaining. Don't let people make a fool out of you with your own money, don't spend your money just to be disrespected, go elsewhere. There are few more options in this neighborhood. I sure wish I knew before. I will still make the complaint so that future customers do not have to fall for these cheap business scams.
I honestly feel scammed. I truly do because at one point he said he will accept the item and exchange for another USED item....but in the beginning said they do not accept or sell used items. There are inconsistency in their words and policies. Avoid.

Good got my key done within 2 minutes

I’m gonna say this do not go here if you need a key personally made I bought my lock and my key and explain to them what I needed done. These people did not know what they were doing whatsoever. The old guy says he can’t work on this because the key is blank after I repeatedly explain to him over the phone. I needed him to open the lock and cut the key. this lock he then proceeded to give me an attitude and waves me away So I recommend to anyone do not go there if you need a personal key made go somewhere else that would be way more professional
