Electrical reviews in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Terrible customer service! Been doing electrical 11 years now and they win for worst customer service for sure!
-
Very helpful and great prices! I appreciate all the advice they’ve given and do their best to look out for their customers.

I've sent many lineman tools (battery presses, battery cutters, battery and hydraulic drills, strap and chain hoist, hydraulic and gas chainsaws, hot sticks, grounding straps, etc.) for repair and testing work. I've been satisfied with the work that has been done on all of the equipment I've sent in for repair and testing. They also sell a lot of this equipment and parts for tools.

When you are a electrician, you learn something right from the start,,,,,,, good is not cheap, and cheap ain't worth buying. You do not skimp on your electrical parts that get forgotten after there covered up by sheetrock, hidden in the attic, and my favorite buried out side. Just by the best you can, you pay less on repairs and you have a solid network of parts and accessories dealers and help desk personnel all working to keep what you paid good money for, working.

I love going here for my electrical supplies the guys are friendly and knowledgeable. Always willing to help if you've got any confusion and willing to tell you where in town you can get an oddball item if they don't stock it. Everyone up there enjoys their work and it really shows.

These guys saved the day for me. I have an old box that needed a 200 Amp main breaker. I went to 2 other supply houses and was just told to buy a new box bc the employees didn’t have the know how and/or initiative to help me. Last resort, I drove to BR and Cody and Brad took the time and initiative to help me find the right breaker. Brad is very knowledgeable about old Siemens boxes and went out of his way (stopped what he was doing) to look at the pictures and find a breaker for the 10 year old out of production panel in their computer system…..even though I was not a commercial or a contractor account. True customer service from these guys. Saved me $1000 for a new box installed by an electrician. 5 stars all the way.

I cannot recommend Rebel Electric enough! Whether you are speaking with the owner directly or working with anyone on his team, they are kind, responsive, and it is always a smooth and easy process. Rebel installed all of the electrical on our new build and did some additional lighting for us afterwards. The work that was done exceeded code standards for our area- our inspector commented multiple times how well it was done. Everything is easily accessible and makes sense. They made great suggestions that really elevated the lighting in our home. Fair and reasonable pricing, experienced and professional staff. If you are looking for stand by your word, hard working people to get the job done these are your guys. We won’t be using anyone but Rebel going forward!

We've had Rebel Electric do work at our house a couple of times and they've been excellent both times. First, it was to diagnose an issue and recently to install floor outlets to plug in our sofas and to add several outlets around the house. They got us scheduled quickly and their crew were friendly and efficient. They will continue to be our go-to electrician for any electrical work we need done. Customer service was great as well. Well-run business with quality service. Highly recommended!

Eric Juneau and the Big Family team were very responsive to what I believed was an electrical emergency. Turns out it wasn't a real emergency, but our 50 year old home has 50 year old panels. What wasn't an emergency has resulted in avoiding one altogether.

Service to house on 6345 Smiley Street: I am presently renting a house that is more than 75 years old.Seth Chandler, who is the founder of Big Family Electric Services did some electrical work in this house. He installed several outlets for room air conditioners in this house. No circuit he worked on or installed has given any problems. He weighed each problem he incurred and found the answers needed to correct the problems. The work was done in a very professional manner.
I give him a 5 star review. -
I called their office at 8am on the dot .. talked to a nice lady who took all the information I provided .. asked me if I would want someone to come out today .. I said yes .. she told me to hold for a minute while she talked to the service manager .. she came back on the line and said a tech would be out to my house @ 9:30am .. I received a text confirming this and said it would be Eric and showed a picture of him. Eric showed up shortly before 9:30 am .. I showed him my problem and he started checking outlets and switches .. he had to go up in the attic to do some troubleshooting .. bottom line he found the problem in one of my receptacles .. when the house was built they stabbed the electrical wires into holes provided on the back of the receptacle instead of to the screw posts on the side .. Eric told me that they never use the stab in method .. it's a definite failure point. Eric removed the bad receptacle and replaced with a new one ... he also replaced a receptacle in the AC closet. I had him install a GFCI on the circuit breaker in my main breaker box (for the kitchen) while he was here ... Eric was very polite .. explained what he was doing .. before starting any work he provided cost ... overall I don't think you will find a better contractor than Big Family .. I will highly recommend Big Family to ALL my friends that need electrical work.

Big Family Electric has come to our rescue three times. First, to install a switch correctly in our kitchen; secondly, to install a different receptacle for our new Miele dryer; and, finally, to check to see if my home was grounded correctly. All three calls were made on short notice and at times I am sure Seth Chandler had to fit in to his already set schedule. All three times he came as soon as he could and we have had not issues with any of the electrical work he did.
A very knowledgeable and professional expert in electrical issues.

Called them because a stovetop went out last night. I was charged 89$ for a service fee. Then they wanted to charge me an additional 209$ for a “diagnostic” test. So they wanted me to agree to pay 300$ before they have done any work yet. I do not believe in this kind of business. I understand the service fee but at that point you should find out what is wrong and then tell me how much it is to fix it. I felt like I was being scammed and did not feel comfortable with the way they do business. I paid the service fee and kindly asked them to leave. Will never use them again.

Very pleased with the service. Eric was on time, very professional and knowledgeable. Great communication skills and thorough. Cost of service a little high but would use again.
