Hurricane Ida dealt us a blow that required us to make immediate restorations to our Metairie home. Fortunately, Larry Schneider of Schneider Construction and Restoration was able to assist us with restorations that included drywall replacement, flooring, interior and exterior painting, carpentry and electrical needs.
Kristin Guilott was our project manager. Kristin met with us to assess our needs and coordinated the work with various teams to ensure that the work was performed quickly and professionally. Kristin was exceptional in meeting our numerous “add on” requests so that we could incorporate improvements during the restoration. Kristin provided options and worked with us to ensure the work progressed in order to meet our anticipated Christmas deadline.
Due to supply chain issues with our front door, our final step in the process is now complete. We are pleased with our experience with Larry, Kristin and Olman (carpentry) and all of their other team members and would highly recommend Schneider Construction and Restoration for your construction, renovation or restoration needs.

We are so pleased with our backyard renovation! The project manager Mallory and the owner/contractor Larry Schneider were very professional and always a phone call, email or text away. Very prompt in responsiveness and if if were asked to do something that was not in the original plan, it was done right away with a “sure that will not be a problem”. The workers were always there on time and I love the weekly meeting with Mallory the project manager to go over what was being done, what was next and would answer any questions. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR NEW OUTDOOR KITCHEN! Their work is top notch! I would HIGHLY recommend Schneider Construction for any project big or small!!!

Faced with a large, renovation/restoration of our home post Hurrican Ida, we hired Schneider Construction. Unlike previous projects, this one was unexpected and as a result very stressful. Schneider Construction not only provided amazing direction on the restoration including design of our home but also provided high quality work including sheet rock, painting, plumbing, woodworking and electrical as well as high-level expertise in dealing with our insurance company. The owner was extremely present throughout the project and our project manager met with us weekly to keep the work on budget and on time. Can't say enough about the project manager who was an integral partner in this at times overwhelming and unexpected renovation. I would recommend Schneider to anyone and would use them again in the future without hesitation.

Schneider recently completed our major renovation including kitchen, floors, bathrooms, etc. We absolutely love our renovated home. The quality of work is fantastic and all subs were reliable, professional, and respectful of the property! Mallory and Thomas were wonderful to work with and did an outstanding job of coordinating the renovation. Highly recommended!

Meeting and interviewing Mr. Larry Schneider in January 2023, owner of Schneider Construction and Restoration, was literally like a breath of fresh air.
Our home was purchased in summer of 2021. After having a failed relationship with a contractor for more than a year and a half, a contractor that was inept to handle our job, a job that seemed to us, basic and reasonable, we were fearful that we wouldn’t find a contractor that we could trust and have faith in.
Larry’s company is not only highly reputable and qualified but also capable, reliable and responsive.
Upon our first meeting, we discussed what we were hoping to achieve. Larry listened, gave insight on how to achieve our thoughts, told us he would give us an estimate in a timely manner; a deposit is needed for estimate, (The deposit will go toward the job if you choose his company. Mr. Schneider explains the importance of all the work that goes into giving an accurate estimate. We were fine with his thought process as we wanted to be sure as well. We didn’t want another contractor promising something that wasn’t feasible.) and most importantly to us, having wasted a lot of time already, was his truthful expectations of when his company could get started with the job.
May 11th, 2023 was the official start date. Although we had a change in project managers, it truly was just a hiccup. We never lost communication with Schneider Construction and Restoration. We continually moved forward in a timely manner, even with a “few” work order changes along the way, the project forged ahead elsewhere until everything was addressed to completion. Even with all the other companies that were involved on the job site, Schneider Construction and Restoration works very well with the other moving parts in “The Big Picture”.
Larry was easy to talk to, approachable, reasonable and very accessible. All characteristics a great contractor should have. See, “a breath of fresh air”.
Job was completed April 2024 and we couldn’t be happier …….except that…….we should have chosen this company FIRST.

When we hired Larry and his team to do our renovation, we were highly cynical of contractors. We feared he would be just another unscrupulous contractor, but we were completely wrong. Schneider is totally different from the shady, change-order-happy contractors we’ve been burned by in the past. The team at Schneider truly valued our happiness, delivered high-quality work, and provided exceptional communication and transparency throughout the duration of our project. The project was completed on time and under budget, and we’re thrilled with the results.

When, inevitably, things didn’t go as planned or unforeseen issues were uncovered behind 100-year-old walls, the Schneider team stood by their work and promptly and fairly worked through every problem, which speaks volumes about their ethos. When other contractors would have called it “good enough” or tacked on additional costs, Larry’s team got it right and never nickel-and-dimed. It is evident that the honesty and professionalism come from the top at Schneider.

We were fortunate enough to have Alejandra as our project manager. Alejandra is an extremely talented, well-rounded professional. She’s punctual and organized, an empathetic leader and problem-solver, and, more importantly, an awesome person. She made it feel like she was going through the process with us. She was on our side, working with us to obtain the best result, rather than someone just showing up for work. She was onsite daily -- first in, last out. Finding someone like her who holds their work in such high regard is rare.

Mallory also provided weekly support, and we were blown away by the knowledge, confidence, and resolve she brought to the project.

Renovations are incredibly tough and stressful, even when things are going well, and we cannot fathom having survived ours without Alejandra and Mallory. They are rock stars – truly. The whole team at Schneider impressed us at every level and, frankly, restored our faith in contractors. They should be at the top of your shortlist.

We worked closely with Mallory (our Project Manager) and Larry to build our custom home. From interviewing architects with us to giving sourcing input, they guided us every step of the way, and really made building an enjoyable and collaborative process! Once construction began, we had a weekly site meeting with them to go over progress, where they informed us of any upcoming selections that needed to be made. Mallory was always available via phone or email, and always offered solutions for any request, big or small. We selected Schneider Construction based on a family member’s recommendation, and now we recommend them to anyone who needs a general contractor!

We recently hired Schneider Construction to renovate our master suite. They totally gutted and rebuilt the bathroom, while reconfiguring part of the bedroom to create a new master closet. We could not be happier with the entire experience. The project manager is an excellent communicator. She contacted me with updates frequently and was very responsive when I reached out with questions. The construction team was punctual, courteous, and friendly, and their workmanship is excellent. We also felt the price was very reasonable considering the extent of our project and the quality of the work and the experience. We could not have asked for a better renovation experience. We highly recommend Schneider for any home project!

Schneider Construction and Restoration did an amazing job on our home. We remodeled most of the house and are so pleased with the results. It feels like a brand new house! Our project manager, Jason, was at our home daily, often several times per day to ensure that every detail was done correctly. Larry, the owner, was always available and had excellent suggestions to maximize space and improve our master bath. Small "punch list" items, and there were not many, were completed as quickly as found.
