My experience with Solar Alternatives has been stellar. Rock Solid Company!

Nathan came to my home for service call on Solar Panels not working. He uncovered several issues, and shared thorough info. Nathan was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and pro-active. He went above and beyond. Also, my panel installation from several years ago is still strong and sturdy, with no breakage - even after Hurricane Ida! John later joined Nathan on this service call, and was also helpful. Extremely pleased with service and resolution that I received..

Solar Alternatives installed my solar panels and Tesla powerwall about 3 years ago. I have been stoked with the product and service.
Kenny Rodgers has been a huge help with my cleaning and maintenance schedule.
I recommend Solar Alternatives to anyone looking for energy piece of mind.

Edit: I must commend Derek Acosta (Director of Sales) and Solar Alt for rectifying the situation. I find them to be a reputable company and would consider working with them in the future. However, my experience with Marc Mouton was extremely disappointing. He handled the situation unprofessionally, threatening a construction lien on my home instead of addressing my concerns. When questioning the definition of business days, he inaccurately claimed Saturday and Sunday were considered such, despite contrary information from their website and a call center representative. Furthermore, his statement about getting paid simply for sending me an email late at night was really unprofessional.

Original: Find you a different company or at least a different sales rep. Marc Mouton is completely unprofessional and cares more about his commission then your questions

The marketing efforts to deface property of others is shameful. The fuel dispensers at my truckstop are littered with their stickers...

Where to start! The entire process from the initial consult to the final installation, and venturing into the follow up and routine maintenance, Solar Alternatives consistently provides top notch customer service with constant communication. Any questions I had throughout the process were properly addressed, to include the maze that Entergy established for them to navigate. I highly recommend Solar Alternatives for anyone considering converting to sustainable, alternative energy.

Jeff and his team at Solar Alternatives were a pleasure to work with. They provided numerous options to help me find the best fit for my home. The team is very familiar with the technology and helped me to select the right size system. The installation was seamless - took only one day - and the workmanship was excellent; I really appreciated the clean and neat work by the electrician. Following the install, the team followed up regularly to make sure all is working as its supposed. Solar Alternatives made reducing my carbon footprint easy and fulfilling!

Great company! Very knowledgeable and helpful with the entire process!

Solar Alternatives has a fantastic team both on site and in the office. They installed our solar panels originally and then about 10 or 11 years later helped us add a Tesla Powerwall. They helped us get great financing and provided all the necessary paperwork for tax credits.

We would, without a doubt, highly recommend Solar Alternatives to anyone looking for a reliable and honest solar company. Solar Alternatives saved us from a solar company wanting to unnecessarily gouge us for additional costs on a “flop” to remove and reinstall our existing solar panels so we can get a new roof on our house. The first day I called Solar Alternatives I spoke to their representative, Kenny Rodgers, who listened patiently to the nightmare we endured from a company handling our solar panel account. Kenny fully understood our situation and his calm demeanor convinced us to transfer our solar panel account to Solar Alternatives. Kenny and all of the staff we worked with were courteous, professional, and reliable. The workers performed their duties without any complaint and everyone worked as a team in getting our solar panels installed including adding critter guard around our panels to prevent damage from squirrels and chipmunks in our neighborhood. Overall, we had a very good experience working with Solar Alternatives.

Got a bunch of work done in 2021. In 2024 I had 1 of my 5 systems go bad after paying over 90k. I called them up 4 times to ask for help and kept leaving messages or being told that I would be called back.
I had to hire another solar company to come out and after 10k, they found the wiring was poorly done and squirrels had chewed through it. I had to hang critter guards put up as well.
Blows my mind that after I gave them all this money that they wouldn't even call me back to service my panels. I would have paid them as well to take a look at everything, but all that I'll leave is this 1 star review.
I would not use them again.
Edit: I did call back twice but again got no response and just had to leave a message. Not sure what else I can do besides warn others.

I have solar panels with whole house battery back up. We had solar alternatives install them over 10 years ago. I recently had trouble reading the solar output on my panels. Solar alternatives came right out and was able to find the problem and fix it on sire. Very happy with their service and products.

Mr Kenny Rogers and the entire crew of Solar Alternatives did a wonderful job replacing our damaged solar panels . Right from working with our insurance company to coming on time and making sure we understood how everything functioned. Great working with y"all .

I own a Bed & Breakfast on Elysian Fields in the Marigny. Two of my guestrooms face the street and my online reviews were suffering because of the street noise. I live in a historic district, so I couldn't replace the exterior windows.

After researching several options, I decided to go with a product called "Indow Window Inserts" which are sold locally by Solar Alternatives. I called and talked with Larry. He came over and gave a short demonstration of how they worked and differnet options for sound insulation - he said that the noise would be reduced by 70%.

Each "Indow Window" is custom cut to fit exactly inside against the molding (see my attached photos of what they look like once installed).

Larry went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with his installation and the results, and I couldn't be happier. The street noise in the room has been reduced to a whisper; I'm sure it's more than a 70%!

Guests haven't complained about the noise since, and I can honestly say that these windows have saved my business. Larry's personal service and attention to detail went above and beyond. Thank you.

Would give a negative 5 if we could.
When we moved to New Orleans, we bought a house with already paid off solar panels on the roof - disconnected that that point. The roof needed to be fixed so the panels had to be brought down. Therefore, we contacted Solar Alternatives to give their expert advice on whether it was worth putting the solar panels back up on the roof (since it cost more than $2000). They sent someone who to look at the panels and we were told that they were new and in great shape and should work. So, we spent thousands of dollars bringing them down and then putting them back up. Once back up, they did not work. We were told that some parts were outdated and needed to be ordered and changed all that was done and we kept paying the labor charges etc.. Still no output. There was some outstanding balance which we refused to pay till they sent somebody who knew what they were doing. They even involved in a negotiator a to help get us to pay their dues without actually resolving the issue. I guess finally they sent their 'elite' team, who told us that these panels are actually very old and will only work for a year or 2. Eventually they were able to make some panels work and other never worked. At that point, we paid them in full, and since then they have not responded to any phone calls or emails. They got their money and skedaddled.
Horrible experience. They did not set us up with any reconnection/energy exchange programs or advise us on how to get benefits of the solar energy (per them, the house cannot utilize the energy). If they had done a more thorough assessment and been honest from the outset, we would have just taken the panels down, and disposed them rather than spending more than 5000 dollars between putting them back up on the roof and labor changes etc. Now stuck with a white elephant on the roof.

Please stop taking people with limited knowledge of solar energy for a ride.

Solar Alternatives was contracted out to perform work at my residence. The professionalism, attentiveness and diligence from start to finish will have me returning. From the friendly office workers to the field techinicnas I am blown away, most companies nowadays have lost their soul, solar alternatives truly puts service above all else. I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone.

Solar Alternatives set up a fantastic solar and battery backup system for my house. This system has been awesome for everything from keeping our power on during storms to allowing work-from-home on an uninterrupted basis during storms and (unfortunately) frequent power outages.

I worked with another solar company previously, and neither their solutions nor their service could hold a candle to Solar Alternatives.

I highly recommend Jeff and his team.

Beware when using this company, as they misrepresent what they can deliver. We spent 10s of 1000s of dollars to install full home backup. They reviewed our system and bills and we have in writing that it would work, understanding the need to recharge and limit large appliances. When we had an electrician take a look after install, we were shocked that Solar Alternatives fabricated everything during the sales discussion! We asked them to rectify and then they threatened a lien! You can see below that they do this often from a few other bad reviews. My advice, this company is not trustworthy, and for your home, you don’t want people doing this and taking advantage.
    STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
They claim they can access our app and turn off our electric! It’s predatory!

    Comments to Owner response:
First, if you claim that you don’t know the case then you need better communication within your company, we spoke to our sales rep who was supposed to “manage” the project and was nowhere to be found. When we called the office and explained our concerns and that they should be rectified, they threatened a lien if we didn’t pay, and also told us they would tamper with our Tesla app, which I have since found is illegal. You can see below you have threatened other people with liens!
I’ll contact your email but I have also contacted a lawyer.

I was "blown away" by how professional and attentive to detail this company was for my home solar installation. I was so impressed I had them double the size and install it at my office! Marc Mouton was the rep I went with and he was outstanding!

Brady Morgan and the install team have been fantastic. Everything has been going smoothly, and we can’t wait to see our first bill with our new solar installed!

I just want everyone to be aware so that you do not end up as frustrated as I am: The technicians at Solar Alternatives were top-notch, and highly professional, and the salesperson has been really helpful, including after signing the deal. However, the timeline has been very long-- almost 3 months and still no power, although I have paid 90% of the cost and the panels are installed. (We are in the middle of getting permits and permission from Entergy to turn on the system.) I have also at times gotten casual reassurances on timelines, such as that a task will be done that week, but then, that timeline moves to "when we can do it", which stretches out for weeks more. They are not a scam or dismissing customers, but I think they are busy and prioritize larger corporate/government contracts over individual customers. Therefore, it is very important to be on top of the process and make sure steps are being taken and you are not being forgotten. You cannot just make a payment and assume the work will be done; you will need to stay on top of it. I have friends who recommended them to me, and they had similar issues, but said that the company came through in the end. I will update when the solar-generated electricity is flowing.
