We were living like pioneers without use of a dryer for several months because it screamed every time we turned it on. Got into the habit of line drying out clothes and the good old college days of taking our hamper to our parent’s to do laundry. In addition to the crunchy air dried towels and lugging hampers to do laundry, finding a new dryer to fit in the space was proving difficult (it’s in a closet, stacked, and due to age the depth is no longer common). By chance I came across Stan’s appliance repair on Google Maps. I read through reviews of old dryers being revived and made a call.

On the call, Stan asked for information and while on the phone heard the dryer and stated he could fix it and probably already had the parts. Stan arrived for the scheduled appointment and fixed the dryer in an hour and a half. It cost less than a new one and is working well. Yay!

Stan was amazing! I contacted him on a Sunday and he was able to come out that day and look at my fridge to see what was wrong. He had to get a part, but by Monday, the fridge was fixed! Very reliable and fast!

Would have taken nearly a week overall to fix washer if I had not called another tech who did it on first visit. Charged 75$ fee for expediting resolution. Charged nearly 100% more than other service. Only refunded 50% of cost.

We called Stan from Appliance Repair to fix our 20 year old dryer. Stan was very thorough and professional. He explained the problem very clearly and very upfront with us on if the dryer was able to be repaired. In our case, after a thorough investigation, he advised that the repair would exceed the value of the dryer. Stan recommended replacing the dryer rather than forcing an expensive repair. Stan went and checked out my discontinued range. He charged a $250 deposit, and then told me my stove would need a $2,000 part to fix, or he could repair the current part for a whopping $1000 + labor charges on top. He said the control board was faulty. I called around and had another tech come visit, they were able to diagnose my stove in 5 minutes as faulty wiring. They fixed the wiring in 30 minutes for a fraction of the cost. I would not do business here again.

Stan is wonderful! Extremely knowledgable and can fix it all. Was very communicative and even advocated for my appliance to get replaced when Lowes was trying to deliver a dented one! I'm honestly disappointed in Stan. I was very clear over the phone and with photos about the expectation of replacing the door seal on my whirlpool front load. In fact I had tried the repair myself and admit to the shortcoming. He had me share photos of everything. He shows up and spend 10 minutes at my house but didn't have the tools/the stand that would be required to do the job. Then he quotes me a high number which I begrudgingly accept seeing as he is standing in my house.

I couldn't have been more clear in my communication and understood the $175 "diagnostic fee" would go to the repair. But why show up not prepared to do the work saying he needs to get a stand. Its a stackable washer and I shared all the details with him. What point is the photos then beforehand, he wasn't flying blind coming in on the job.

I then call around and learn more about appliance repair baltimore and his rate is about 180% of market. When I tried to fairly compensate him for the 10 minutes he spent at my house, he says $175 is non refundable.

I get it if I called him and said my washing machine is leaking come look at it, but I provided all detail of exactly what needed to be done.

Stan shouldn't request photos prior, then he could at least justify coming to see the space and "diagnose" the problem.

Stan Hao diagnosed the problem with our dryer and fixed it the same day. He returned our call on a Sunday and scheduled us right away. The price was reasonable and he gave us a one year warranty. He does all appliances and we will definitely call again in the future.

Working with Stan was a very easy and hassle-free experience. He assisted with replacing a worn out igniter in my Maytag oven and also gave me some education on how to properly disconnect my gas dryer.

Very reasonable rates and Stan himself was very cordial, professional, and knew what the issue was from the start and repair time was under an hour. Stan also tested his work and advised to let him know if anything isn't working.
