We had a clogged sewer line, so we called Acker about 9am.The technician, Scott, was here in about 4 hours and cleared up the blockage. He was courteous, clean and knew exactly what to do. Their price was about 1/3 of Mr. Rooter. Will certainly recommend Acker and use them again.

I have mixed feeling about Acker and Son. Sometimes they do a good job. Sometimes their work has been awful.
Recently, the cold water faucet on a sink became loose. The sink was installed 24 years ago. The plumber they sent said the faucet had to be replaced. He replaced it. When the work was inspected the next day, the hot water "knocked" and the cold water faucet turned the wrong way. The plumber returned. The hot water did not knock. He claimed that the faucet could not be reversed. And he failed to plug in the hot water heater that he had apparently unplugged. We called in someone else to find out what was wrong with the hot water to discover it had been unplugged.
A few days later, the cold water faucet began to leak badly. We asked for the plumber to come back to repair it. Four days later, they still have not come back. We turned off the water. Losing trust, we also looked at on-line documentation to discover that faucet direction can, in fact, be reversed. So right now, they are on my awful list.

It was a pleasure working with Kenny. He is highly professional, arrived on time, quickly and expertly diagnosed and fixed the leak, and thoroughly cleaned the work area. I would most definitely contact him in the future.

Overall I had a great experience. Their staff was friendly and resolved my plumbing issue very quickly. I also received price quotes from numerous companies and Acker and Sons was the most affordable! Highly recommended!

Wilmer did a great job on our shower. A lot of parts that had to be installed. He took the time to get it right!

Having used them continuously since 1994, I highly recommend Acker and its employee Kenny (who has successfully and efficiently handled our plumbing needs before). Kenny’s work today was outstanding as usual. He was extremely thorough and patiently worked to resolve everything to my and the WSSC water authority’s satisfaction despite our primary plumbing problem today taking more than three hours to resolve (but only because of the WSSC water authority’s long delay in finding our exterior water meter and NOT because Kenny was inefficient). Background: The WSSC billed us 1,000% more than our usual quarterly water bill. It claimed that we probably had a leak somewhere in our house or in our underground exterior pipes. After Kenny determined that we had no such leaks, he astutely suggested that I call WSSC to tell them it was a water meter/leak emergency because of such a high bill and that their water bill and leakage claim were wrong. When the WSSC inspector finally arrived after 90 minutes while Kenny patiently waited here, he then politely proved to its inspector that we had no leaks anywhere and that it had to either be a broken meter or an incorrect meter reading. Bonus: While Kenny waited for the WSSC inspector to arrive, he diagnosed and fixed several other plumbing problems of which I was unaware (but they wwre all unrelated to our erroneously high water bill and WSSC’s inaccurate claim about our supposedly having interior water leaks or broken exterior pipes). So for Acker’s same service call’s time-related charges for which I had to pay anyway because of WSSC’s erroneous claims, we were able to also get other plumbings problems fixed while we were waiting for the WSSC inspector to arrive. Two birds with one stone!

George and his assistant from Acker arrived promptly and installed a Moen Flow monitor and helped set up the app on our phones. They weee efficient and courteous. This is the 2nd time we have utilized Acker and i would highly recommend them. Bob & Mary Shue.

Wilmer provided terrific service in dealing with seven different. On time. Careful. Diligent. Clear in his explanation of what needed to be done and why. Responsive to our concerns. Meticulous in the work performed

Scott, always amazingly responsive, sent Wilmer out within one hour. Wilmer.... Amazing..... He nit only diagnosed and repaired a significant issue but he also notice several items that need attention. Thanks Scott and Wilmer!

Just had a new water heater installed by George and Jeremy of Acker & Sons, Kensington, MD. They were terrific! The job was reasonably priced (we did comparison shop). George and Jeremy were punctual, the work professionally done - and they took the time to answer all of our questions. A great experience!

Years ago my I asked my daughter what plumber she used, and she told me Acker and Sons. I have used them since, and have always been happy with the quality of their work. Today, Ken worked on and resolved several problems I had going on in my 100 year old house. He did a really thorough job, and I am so happy I no longer have to worry about these issues.

We have an older house with some idiosyncratic plumbing. George was very knowledgeable and able to rebuild parts. Everything done in one timely visit. No searches needed for difficult to find parts. Bidet with its unusual atmospheric vacuum breaker is working perfectly again. Toilets fixed. Leaking faucets no longer dripping. Very happy. Will definitely call again.

Service was scheduled within 7 days from initial contact. Scott was courteous and efficient in scheduling the work. Wilmer performed the work in a timely manner and was polite and personable.

We have worked with Acker Plumbing for years. Today, Wilmer and Luke were the team who came to our house. They were on time, smart, and professional. Also Scott is a highly knowledgeable master plumber who we have used for special jobs. I highly recommend them!

Wilmer installed an automatic water shutoff, fixed the irrigation back-flow and did several smaller jobs at my home today. He was very thorough and found a couple of small issues that also needed to be addressed. I greatly appreciated that he is very conscientious about completing the job to high standards. He also answered my questions in a very clear way.

I have used this company several times and have always had a good experience. Today, George arrived exactly on time. He did the repairs I needed, charging me what was estimated. Highly recommend.

New info: I used this plumbing company again today. Again, great service! This time the plumber was Wilmer, and he was excellent.

Our water heater had a leak while we had COVID. The office staff were super helpful video chatting with me to help me figure out how to turn the water off directly to the water heater. Once we were COVID free they helped us get a new water heater (it was time) quickly and at a good price. The plumber who worked with us, Wilmer, was excellent. He is friendly and knowledgeable. His advice was right on and the work was high quality. So happy to have hot water again!

George was great! And great with my dog.
