I stumbled upon this company from an inquiry I put on Angie’s List. What a crown jewel, and what an amazing experience! Earl and his team replaced my hot water heater and I couldn’t be happier! They were professional, knowledgeable, meticulous (like me), and thorough!! Their attention to detail was refreshing, and their price was competitive! It’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a contractor take pride in their work. They are my new go to plumbing team! I highly recommend!

We want to thank Earl and Al and Roxanne for coming out ON THE SAME DAY with a new water heater to deal with an emergency situation. We wish we could have just turned off the water to the water heater itself - but that valve was frozen in the on position. So we had to turn off water to the entire house! Ugh!

It was complicated by the fact that we were dealing with a warranty company - who dispatched Hotwaterexpress in the first place - and we're glad they did. Earl spent at least an hour on the phone with the warranty company - which is time nobody has - but is part of the deal with warranty companies.

Earl's communication was very good - and they were friendly as well. At the end of the day - the water was back on. We'll still have to wrestle with the warranty company - but we knew that would always be a possibility when we signed up with them. We'll still get something back eventually - but for now - we have water!

I had a water heater go out at one of my rental properties. I googled water heater repairs near me and stumbled across Hot water express. When I called, I spoke with Earl, and he sent me a text requesting photos of the water heater, I didn’t think he would be able to assess the situation with photos but he did. And within 24 hours of calling, without stepping foot in the house, my tenant had running hot water again form a brand new water heater. And for a fair price (comparatively speaking). I’d recommend this company to anyone looking for fast, and reliable service , call Earl and HWE.

Al and Jeremey: The. DREAM. TEAM! They came early to confront our blocked drain that had caused a basement flood. After three hours and three snake drills, they triumphed! When we drained the utility sink, I saw a whirlpool for the first time in...that long. Ten stars!

This experience was awesome. I wasn’t there to receive Al and his crew but my son was there to receive them and when I returned home my water heater was installed perfectly. I just want to thank them so much for doing the job that they did. I thank you and good luck on other installations. They were on time and in out in a few hours !

Our hot water heater went out, and after calling several companies, we finally decided on Hot Water Express/ Washington Home Doctors. I am so glad we did! They gave us a competitive price to install the 40g gas water heater, expansion tank, shutoff valve, and emergency pan with leak alarm. They removed the old tank and ensured everything was clean and tidy. Really professional team! We called them again when another contractor installed the wrong pipes, which caused our bottom floor to leak. They came out right away to fix the problem. I would definitely call them again for any plumbing or gas needs!

The team at hot water express were great. They stock and install Bradford White water heaters and were to set me up the next day from when I called. I really appreciated the way Al explained the systems he installed and the way he took the time to explain best maintenance tips. If getting a tanked hot water heater installed, my only recommendation is that you source your own catch pan as there was a large upcharge on that part.

I would add though, overall cost to install and haul away were otherwise significantly much less than other quotes I had received along with the added peace of mind of a longer warranty period.

I highly recommend this business. I used them to replace the water heater in my home in NW DC. Al initially answered all of my questions over the phone and was able to give me a quote with my provided measurements, photos, and info provided via text. He showed up on time, was extremely professional and respectful of my home (including wearing shoe covers). He was thoughtful in his approach and layout and left my home as tidy as he found it. While my initial interaction was amazing, what made me come write this review is how this business responded when I had an issue with my water heater. I recently had an issue where my water heater was not performing normally. I was concerned that they might not be as responsive because it is the middle of winter (busy season for heating repairs) and this was a follow up call (not new business). After leaving a message, they called me back the same day and made arrangements to come out and troubleshoot my heater. A different crew came out the second time, they were just as professional and courteous as the first. They wore shoe covers, left everything tidy, and most importantly were able to quickly figure out the issue and complete the repair at no additional cost to me. I cannot recommend them enough. This will be my go to for any hvac/water heater maintenance/repairs going forward.

Earl was amazing! I called him on a Tuesday morning around 7am and he was able to come replace my water heater by 11 am that morning. My water heater was still under warranty, and he was able to take care of all that for me, pick up the water heater and install it. All in a matter of three hours!

Originally he said he could come about an hour or two later than 11, but I was in a time pinch. I was OVERLY impressed how quickly he was about to accommodate my needs and get to my home.
