My favorite place to stop at after work, the plant variety is wonderful and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I love Homestead Gardens and the top quality plants!

I'm on my way to my wedding.. I forgot my bouquet so I stopped by to see if they had any flowers I could carry, when I got out of the car I was in such a hurry I DROPPED MY ENGAGEMENT RING!!! and didnt notice until I was 2 miles away.. I went back to the store and the staff was so GREAT they helped me look and one of the girls found it! Although they didnt have any flowers for me they had an AWESOME STAFF! to whom I'll forever be GREATFUL to for SAVING my wedding day!!

Great store, wonderful employees and they are "dog friendly." They love dogs and my 15 year old rescued "canine love of my life" absolutely can't wait to get in there and start smelling around. My wife "buys" and I "dog walk."

This is not the place to purchase air plants! They have the nerve to charge full price for B quality plants. The air plants were brown at the bottom and extremely soggy. Homestead Gardens If you plan to sell lower quality air plants do not charge full price. Please educate your staff on how to care for these plants because not soul in that place has an understanding.

Very helpful, very informative, and always a positive experience when I come in. I love this place.

I purchased several pepper, tomato and eggplant plants a few weeks ago. When I got the plants home I noticed that many of them had various kinds of bugs on the underside of the leaves.

I returned them, but wasn't able to replace them because the plants there that day were in very poor condition (and I'm not up for the challenge of trying to bring one back to health - I'd prefer to purchase it healthy).

Very disappointed and found a much better selection of available healthy plants over at Home Depot

Went in a little over an hour before closing in search of gravel, edging rocks and maybe some plants for the front yard. The place was empty except for about 5 employees, but none of them even made eye contact, much less asked if we needed help. Prices weren't labeled clearly enough for me to fend for myself, so after wandering around for about ten minutes, I left empty handed. Hopefully I'll be able to find someplace a little friendlier for my gardening needs.

The service here for plantings and custom orders is absolutely horrible. Don't buy here if you have any expectation for a fast or responsive project. Despite placing an order for over $5K in items months ago we still don't have items or answers - only excuses, incorrect information and blaming everything except their own team and process.

Truly horrible people working there. we called ahead to see if they had a certain kind of chicken in stock, and the sweet younger girl on the phone told us she would reserve 3 of them for us. We told her we were on our way from the Davidsonville homestead bc they were out of stock of the chicken there & that we would be in 30 minutes. She assured us we would be able to get the 3 chicks once we got there. Upon arrival, the witch at the chicken coop (not the girl on the phone, some older lady) was VERY rude to us. She told us they were gone, that they don’t reserve chicks, and that someone got there before us and got them and we were “out of luck”. After we were promised 3 baby chicks, we walked out empty handed, and she didn’t even apologize. She was very rude and didn’t even suggest us get any other chicks, she instead seemingly wanted us to leave and was MAD that we even showed up. Will never go back here 0/10

This is a smaller version of their main location in Davidsonville. This store still has much of the same types of lawn ornaments, patio furniture, shrubs, bushes and flowers. Their staff here is also terrific. They had helpful advice and had what we needed to solve insects attacking our shrubs. For me, this is a more convenient location

Always get great service, quality plants and gardening supplies, plus solid answers to my gardening questions giving me practical solutions to any problem I have. This beautiful store is full of inspiration! I can see where my money is going, and I get what I pay for.

I will say the store is clean, but for me certain things were over priced that were half dead. No employee paid attention or asked if I needed help. One guy was seemed like he was hiding while in his phone the whole time. I finally got someone to ask a question about a price and was told they werent inventoried, "that's why they are in the hole". They were out beside the other plants though. Every other garden center I have went to that brought stuff out without a price always went above and beyond to help me. No worries I'll take my money elsewhere.

Very disappointed. I rarely write reviews but I was really disturbed by the way I was treated. An associate stood over me and reminded me at 8:03 and again at 8:07 that they closed at 8pm. I was considerate and moved quickly and knew exactly what I was looking for. If i didn't really need it, I would have walked right out. Never going back. Not what I would expect from a long standing business. You are very much missed Don.

Really nice place to go Christmas decor/decorating items. Staff very knowledgeable also. They have the Thames candle/scents every year. Best candle for the holidays. Can be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

We recently made a sizable (for our budget) patio furniture purchase from Homestead Gardens in Severna Park. We went there as we have experienced MANY years of great products and most importantly great service from both their Davidsonville and Severna Park stores.

We specifically wish to call out the exceptional service provided by Stephanie Stowell, Hardgoods Manager. Ms. Stowell listened carefully to our planning, was most helpful in her recommendations, and helped us with the purchase and order of all. She guided us through the special sale at the time and ensured the best pricing for us. Ms. Stowell was friendly, knowledgeable about her products, highly professional, and went above and beyond. Any would be wise to seek her assistance for future purchases.

The furniture looks great and is exactly as we had envisioned and hoped for. We have been happily accepting many compliments from our neighbors (really)!

The service and functioning of the store have gone downhill. We waited at the checkout for over 20 minutes while one worker took intermittent trips to the back of the store to ask someone there, or try to look up what to because one of the codes they use to ring things up wasn’t working. The kind of houseplant we wanted to buy was there but most of them were sunburned from having been set in the wrong spot. We asked if they had better ones in the back and they said “yes, probably, but we can’t bring one out because they aren’t in inventory yet.” This was a trip to take my mom to buy a plant for Mother’s Day so she could pick the one she liked. I had a good experience here a couple years ago and was excited to drive the 45 minutes to take my mom. Decidedly a bummer - but they do have cool knickknacks, vases and pots. A little pricey.

I am consistently amazed and delighted by the extraordinary Christmas decor found at Homestead Gardens. Each year they seem to find new, interesting and beautiful ornaments and decor to brighten the Holidays. It is also the only place I can find my favorite Christmas scent: The Smell of Christmas. Orange and spice brings back so many happy memories. Also got new "goggles" for looking at the Christmas lights on our tree. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Everything you need to make your Holidays merry and bright can be found here.

Bottom line, love this place because they have HUGE selection that is all nicely marked and organized. Staff are friendly and helpful. Store is always spotless and clean. But you do have to play the game as their default sticker prices are incredibly expensive. For example, perennials marked as $4.99 at Home Depot/ Lowe's will be marked $7.99 here. BUT if you sign up for their newsletter you will get a $10 off $50 coupon every week and will see all their sales and specials (which are not always well marked in store). Also, if you sign up for their frequent shopper club (yes, I know super annoying that everyone does this) then you earn points equating to 2% return (1 point per dollar, 250 points equals $5 off purchase...and all happens in the computer just by you giving your phone number at checkout so not too bad). That said, they have many more options and selections than anywhere else in the area (and we tried dozens trying to find some items we wanted), they have sections marked for Maryland Native Plants, and they are a local Maryland company that grows a lot of their own plants. I now go here exclusively and just time my purchases to their sales/ specials or at least use the $10 off $50 coupon if I can't wait to buy a regular priced item. Break the big box addiction and support your local companies that pay taxes back to our state and employ local people.
