In January, 2023 I had contracted Star Quality cleaning to clean my supply and return vents. At the time, I thought the technician did a good job. Today (Sept 2024) I had another company come to perform duct cleaning. I was extremely disappointed to see the amount of dust and dirt buildup in the ducts. When I showed the technician that the ducts were just cleaned in January 2023 he was surprised and said it looked like they haven't been cleaned in several years. I saw the ducts with my own cell phone camera too. The new company did a deep cleaning of all supply and return vents and did a proper job of cleaning, which I verified with my own cell phone. I remember the technician from Star Quality showing me pictures but I am not sure the pictures he showed me were accurate and I wonder if they were even of my home. If you have ducts cleaned by Star Quality, I highly recommend that you verify the cleaning with your own cell phone before they install the covers. I did that with the new company I hired today, and I wish I had done that with Star Quality.

We had a dryer vent clogged that had been building for years. Ben from Star Quality came out to our townhouse and did amazing work. We truly appreciate the great service, fast and thorough communication. We especially thank Ben for getting up on the ladder in the rain. He went above and beyond to help us. TLDR: MSR was responsive, transparent, honest and saved us money. Couldn't have asked for better service. Details below!

Issue: Our A/C on our Carrier Infinity was turning off/not working consistently for about 3 days and we called another HVAC company (Clarksville) to take a look.

Issue with initial company: After Clarksville left the unit completely stopped working (no communication with outside unit was the message on the thermostat as compared to previous error of "95-high current lockout" where it would come on periodically).

Clarksville sent out another HVAC tech based on us calling for updates a few days later, that HVAC tech had no idea what was going on and was sent out to evaluate us for a new HVAC system so it wasted our time and his (our unit was purchased new in 2017).

A few days later they stated our compressor was bad, and then took a few more days to get us a quote. They quoted 2k for the repair to include the fact that the parts are warrantied but refused to break down their bill to show what we were paying for, what amount was parts/labor etc. They stated "that's just not how our quotes work".

Follow up - switching to MSR: We reached out to other companies in the area since the one we were working with wasn't being very transparent or responsive, Moises from MSR responded that same evening we put out the request and came over to look at the unit.

In the case it was the compressor he gave us a breakdown of the costs to include refridgerant with the current prices of it, disposal, how much we would need, etc and was responsive and transparent right from the start. From there he worked directly with Carrier (who has not the best service call hours) to troubleshoot the unit and ensure it was the compressor - IT WAS NOT. It was the inverter board.

From there he worked to find out where that part was in stock with Carrier for warranty, found out it wasn't in the area and had paid up front for express shipping to get the part in. He confirmed the part came in, came out to get the old one to swap it out same day, replaced it, made sure our AC was working up to par and then provided some maintenance/cleaning to the unit.

He saved us a ton of money, kept us aware of the details every step of the way, was responsive, left our unit and the area cleaner than when he came and was overall wonderful to work with. We'll be working with MSR from now on going forward for our HVAC system.

Got quotes from a few HVAC contractors for dual zone ductless split system and Moises was knowledgeable and affordable. Work was completed in less than a day and they were quick and neat. Units were good quality. Moises was friendly to deal with. Additionally needed an emergency repair on my furnace and he was responsive and affordable. I would highly recommend MSR Heating and Cooling.

Moises did a great job replacing my HVAC compressor and other parts! He’s very transparent about the process. He gave me multiple options, and explained things to help me save money. He’s a great guy and will request his service again!
