SECOND EDIT: Capitol returned to do work identified in their previous visit. They arrived on time, were polite, clean, and did a great job. Pictures shown are after firebrick was installed to replace terracotta tile that the developer had paved the fireboxes with. They also repointed the walls of our downstairs fireplace (repointing not shown).

EDIT: We just had Capitol Chimney back for cleaning and inspection of our fireplaces and flues and will be contracting with them for some repairs. We still recommend them.

We had a large and complex repair job done on our chimney, two flues and two fireplaces. The work took longer than expected but despite that, the workers were courteous, did a neat and clean job, and we were not billed any more than the estimate. Capitol Chimney is probably not the cheapest in town, but the quality of the work and the dedication of the workers to doing a good job made it worth it.

As a follow-up, once we determined that we no longer needed the chimney fan that the previous service had installed, we had Capitol Chimney come back with an electrician to remove the fan. They arrived during the allotted time and performed the work cleanly and efficiently.

The two technicians were knowledgeable, friendly, and completed the repairs and install in only a few hours. They also showed us the work the did and how the chimney looks now. Overall excellent work and I'd recommend them to other customers in need of chimney work.

I am so pleased with my newly installed high-efficiency, wood burning fireplace that was suggested by Capitol Chimney Service. This replaces an out-dated, energy-sucking fireplace that was originally installed in the 80s. Update 10/2024: Last night, temp dropped to about 40's. I have been running my new fireplace for about a month now. It's everything I expected and more. Firstly, my fires look gorgeous during the evening. When I have the vent opened/closed just right, it looks like watching a fire burn in slow motion [I kid you not]. Last night, after my fireplace got hot enough and turned on the blower, my apt literally heated up from 70 to 76 without the HVAC even running. This fireplace is going to save me loads this winter.

I have Capitol Chimney come for a cleaning every year. Professional, reasonably priced, easy to schedule, great communication and customer service. I mostly ignore their recommendations for repairs.

Roger was terrific! He is very informative; he inspected outed our gas fireplace and the chimney. Roger found a few deficiencies, suggested remedies and we appreciated his opinions and expertise. Bottom line: Roger will come back to remedy our deficiencies. Additionally, Roger is very personable.

Capitol Chimney Inspection Service was excellent. The team was professional, courteous and friendly. They completed the inspection in very short time and was done in an efficient manner.

Great experience with Capitol Chimney. Needed someone to basically replace my chimney. Have a prefab fireplace with a steel pipe that rises to the roof level. It sits on a platform mounted on the outside of the house several feet from ground level and is surrounded by a wood structure to resemble a chimney that matches the house's wood siding and rises about 25 feet. In my case water had gotten into the chimney over the years and had rotted away the platform and the joists which extended from the house to support it. It was difficult to find anyone that had the experience and manpower to do the job but Capitol Chimney assured me they had done this before and in the end were the only ones to summit a reasonable bid. The structure was replaced and a new firebox was installed that fit the brick mantle on the inside of the house. Primary work took about five days, and then a short wait of a few days so a stainless steel cap especially made to fit the chimney was installed. All people involved were friendly, professional, and trustworthy. Couldn't ask for a better outcome.

Great service! Prompt response and very professional staff. The staff also took the time to explain the work that needed to be done based on what they found during the cleaning. I feel very confident in their work and assessment. I recommend them to everyone.

Just a cleaning but the workers came in and explained the process. They seemed knowledgeable and efficient. They inspected the inside and exterior of the chimney. They didn’t have to go on the roof so the cost was a bit less. I’ll use Capitol Chimney the next time we need a cleaning.

Excellent company across the board. They replaced fireplace flue and a separate flue through the chimney for HVAC. Plus some masonry restoration and tuckpointing on the inside of the firebox. Great communication from the front office, reasonable pricing, the masons were timely and professional, the resulting work was top notch. Highly recommend this company.
