Probably the worst service and people that I've ever met 😔 I had to put this review because of the INCREDIBLE disappoint that I felt with those guys, they agreed to do a work, something very important arranged with a whole week of time and one hour before the job starts they were saying things like "we don't care if the job is not being done" "we don't care anyone apart from us"... They cancelled the job 10 minutes before the hour, any explanation of anything and a poor communication, I don't really know how they have that many stars in Google after meeting them, for sure they ask for people to do a good review or maybe pay them to do it, but as fas as I tested, I can say that those guys are the WORST techs in Washington BY FAR, won't recommend them even to my worst enemy ... 👎👎

Luis is very responsive and professional. I had an HEAVY UP and breaker panel relocation done by them. I am very happy about the work and the process, everything went smoothly and was done on time. This is how renovation should go every time! I definitely will contact them for any electrical need.

Highly, highly recommend Luis and his team for your electrical projects. I needed to have a light switch replaced. They provided a quote over the phone and replaced the switch the next day. They were able to come the same day if necessary. Reasonable cost and very professional.

The owner’s reply below demonstrates the lack of professionalism. This company only responded to me after a negative review. I reached out to them several times throughout the day with no response. I was never informed of a weekend upcharge when I scheduled the service. I was also never told that they would not come back to do the work. What a scam.

This company is very unprofessional and completely wasted an entire Saturday of mine. I called and asked for two semi flush mount light fixtures to be changed in my home. I informed them that I was available to have the fixtures replaced early on Saturday morning. I rearranged the furniture in both rooms to make room for the fixtures to be replaced. Instead of replacing the fixtures, someone came to provide “an estimate.” I had not requested an estimate at any point. This individual then assured me they would be back to complete the work later in the afternoon. I waited hours for someone to come back and no one did. I also called and texted the main number for the company and no one got back to me about whether they would return to complete the work. I didn’t reach out to other companies because they assured me on more than one occasion that the work could be done on the day we agreed on. This was unprofessional and a waste of my time. Save yourself the aggravation and choose a different company. Lastly, every time you call them the person who picks up the phone is having a conversation with someone else in another language while you are speaking to them. They are commanding top prices for bottom level service.

I had a very positive experience with Luis and James. There was a very quick response to my request for an estimate, and Arnold was able to come out the next day to fix my kitchen lighting. Although there was a little accident that resulted in some damage to my light fixture, Arnold immediately took responsibility, was extremely apologetic and made sure my final bill was reduced significantly. Despite the mishap, I would definitely use the company again and would ask for Arnold.

Although Luis& James was able to respond to my electrical issue the same day, they did not solve the entire electrical issue. Both my kitchen and bedroom lights and outlets were not working. When they left, they said they fixed the issue; however, after they left, I checked the outlets and they still were not working. Therefore, I had to hire another electrician. However, the following day, Luis&James contacted me via text and they wanted to make the situation right financially so they not only reimbursed me for their fee of $180, but also the charge of the other electrician I had to hire to correct the wiring. This was really remarkable and I commend Luis&James for financially backing up their employees, even when they make mistakes. Thank you!

Luis came over and fixed my backup generator. He was very concise in his recommendations and when he gave me an estimate for additional expensive work that was required, he even requested that I get a second opinion before committing. I would definitely recommend his company to do work on a backup generator.

Our experience with Luis&James was a first for us in DC in the best possible way!

A few Saturday nights ago, we were having an issue with no power getting to our bedroom after having replaced a ceiling fan wall switch. We tried to troubleshoot ourselves including checking the breaker and GFCI outlet in the ensuite bathroom, but no luck. I called Luis&James and they said they could come by in an hour or two and gave me a reasonable estimate for the job.

They showed up promptly and immediately got to work, wearing shoe covers to ensure they didn't bring in dirt or damage our wood floors. They systematically went through all the possible sources of the problem, while talking me through what they were doing, and it soon became clear that the fix was simple: a GFCI outlet in _another_ bathroom had tripped – we hadn't even thought to look there. Once we reset the GFCI, everything worked just fine.

Even though this was an easy fix, we were grateful for Luis&James' detective work to solve the problem. When I went to pay them, however, they wouldn't accept it! Mind you, this was a Saturday night job that took at least 2 hours of their time once you factor in commute.

We've had several people work on our house over the years and I've never had someone turn down a payment, let alone after doing a great job. In this sense, Luis&James are a special company. They are knowledgeable and professional, and beyond that, they really care about their customers. Please strongly consider them for your next electric job!

I hate to leave negative reviews as a business owner myself. But they really dropped the ball on this one. I am looking for properties for a cultivation center and had one chance to have an electrician come into the property to give me a quote. I had to make the scheduling work with my broker, the landlord's broker, and the landlord. They answered quickly and said they would be there at the given time. They sent an electrician who took pictures and we showed around the property. Everything seemed like it was going great. Then after a week of asking for the estimate, I was eventually informed that the electrician they sent wasn't trained properly and did not have the information they needed to give me an estimate. After repeatedly asking for at least a ballpark estimate so I knew what to expect before signing the lease, the owner refused to give me one. He said he would need to come back out himself this time, however like I had mentioned we only had one shot to do this. Really screwed me over in the whole situation. What really boggles my mind is this was a potentially $8,000-$20,000 job, so they would certainly have made thousands of dollars but didn't take it seriously enough to even give me an estimate.

Julio and his partner came out on a Sunday call 1-2 hours after I called them which is unheard of since every major company I called said the earliest they could get me is 2-3 days later.

Quickly diagnosed the problem with my electrical outlets and surge box, fixed the issues on site and didn't have to leave. Price was more than what I expected but you get what you pay for. I now have them in my directory for future needs.

I scheduled an appointment with Luis for 10 AM. At 10:15, I asked him when he was going to arrive. At 10:30, he texted me a pic of his business card and asked to confirm the address.

I called him, and he said his electrician would be here between 10-12.

He apologized for the oversight, and said he'd do the work for free.

Five minutes later, he called back and said, "I don't want to work for you. Leave a bad review." (It was hard to understand him because of all the background noise.)

So I'm doing just that. Be aware that when Luis says he'll arrive at a certain time, he doesn't mean it. Don't waste your time.

The work that they competed was good. Then they disappeared without finishing the job and did not communicate with us

Really happy with Alfred of Luis and James Electric. I needed a dedicated circuit added to my crawl space and Alfred arrived promptly and was very efficient in the install. He was tidy and explained what he was going to do and did it well. A very good overall job was done. They were reasonably priced and offered courteous service. I will use them on my next electrical needs.

We called Luis & James when one of our circuits blew out and they replaced it - arriving quickly, on time and handling that process efficiently and professionally. During that initial process, we inquired about replacing the entire circuit breaker unit, as it was over 40 years old, not in compliance with current code and causing issues in our house. Luis and James offered us a highly competitive rate for that job, so we had them do the replacement. They did an outstanding job rewiring, working in cramped basement quarters to move the new panel to a place where it would meet code - coming back several days to complete the job and again when we requested separate wiring to a high voltage kitchen appliance. They went "beyond" in every sense to address our concerns and to complete the job. They are very experienced, knowledgeable, able to come up with great plans to address tricky issues and professional. We will use Luis and James for any future electrical needs and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great job at a competitive price.

I requested electrical work done in my house. I had an issue with a breaker that keep tripping, and needed some ceiling fans installed. Luis&James Electric arrived and fixed it in a day. The electrician who arrive named Huber, was very pleasant and assisted me right away. He got the problem fixed in a timely manner , cleaned up after the job and kept a safe distance . I would recommend them as a great electrical company on the DMV. The price compared to other electrical companies was quite reasonable and their response time was great!!!

We needed a couple of wall outlets fixed. Called Luis and James and they had a tech out within 3hrs. Tech was pleasant, quick, and did a good job. He even fixed our front door handle that came loose while he was here. Highly recommend.

I called and they came out for an estimate the same day. All the guys were so nice and Elieser came to the house the next day and did an amazing job installing a new outlet for an EV charger. Highly recommend!

Very professional and a pleasure to work with. The team assessed my ac problem and fixed it same day with a warranty. Unfortunately, my HVAC broke again a week later so the team came back and assessed the problem again. They weren’t able to fix it so they provided a full refund. I would absolutely recommend their services.

Luis&James has helped us twice, and both times they were responsive, knowledgeable, and fairly priced. They were able to send someone either the same or next day. They had the materials for the fixes I needed and took care of them quickly. They were very pleasant and gave me a thorough explanation of the issue, which I appreciated. I would highly recommend their services and will be using them for any future electrical needs!
