Edwin and Alexis did an AMAZING job replacing the lights throughout my house. They were professional, prompt, and very nice. They paid close attention to detail and made sure the job was done right. I’m so happy I chose Luis&James Electric. They’re a great company to work with.

Luis is quite the knowledgeable electrician, but what I want to highlight in this review is his integrity, which in my opinion is the most important aspect in working with someone.

After some initial miscommunications about the job, things didn't quite turn out the way I hoped, but Luis, the company owner came out himself to make sure things were resolved. And even though the scope of the project increased, he insisted on completing the job at the original rate (although I'm not going to let him, because the scope had increased substantially, and that is clearly my own doing).

When working with someone new, it's always a toss up on how things will go when unexpected difficulties arise, and I'm very pleased in how Luis does business. Six-stars!

Luis&James Electric were incredibly helpful in replacing the outlet in our kitchen. We had purchased a new oven from Home Depot, but Home Depot refused to install it because they said the outlet was wrong (and wouldn't tell us what we needed to replace it with). We needed someone to come out ASAP, so we contacted Luis&James Electric and they sent someone the very next day. The electrician, Arnold, was friendly and professional. He quickly figured out what needed to be done, ran out to get a part, and finished the job in less than an hour. We are very grateful that we now have a fully functional oven thanks to Luis&James Electric. They really came through for us. We would definitely use them again for future electric needs.

Phenomenal work doing a heavy-up (converting our smaller breaker box to a larger capacity one), adding a vehicle charger, and lots of other wiring needs (outlets, lights, switches).

Great work for very reasonable price. My only issue was their timeliness. They had to change the work day a couple times (could have been an anomaly), but showed up at the designated time when they did work.

Highly recommend. Will be using them again for future work.

Luis and James did an excellent job with my doorbell installation! It was a complicated job because of a few long-standing issues, and they resolved them quickly and effectively, at a very fair price! The electrician they assigned for the job was professional, did very thorough work, and cleaned up afterwards. I'll definitely come back if I have any other electrical work to do!

We called this electrician for an urgent safety issue. Twice we told him we wouldn’t be home in the morning and scheduled for the afternoon. He showed up in the morning anyway, then refused to come when I was available, saying “Nobody wants to work at this time.” Promised to come Sunday—never showed, no call, no text. Completely unreliable and unprofessional, especially for an emergency.

Fantastic service, communication and pricing. My electrician could not come for a few days. NO power in entire house. I called Luis on the basis of these Google review, and he came out (Dupont Circle) within 1.5 hours. He was knowledgable, quick and thorough. Got the power back on in the house (faulty old main circuit breaker found on the EXTERIOR of the house) in a few minutes. Then followed up the next day for repair to circuit and installed a porch fan. More work to do, and Luis has it under contrrol. I have no hesitation to recommend this company.

I cannot express how happy I am with Luis & James Electric. Friday evening I was trying to install a new light myself and failed miserably. The old fixture was dangling and I really wanted it fixed immediately. I called at least 5 electricians - all that were supposed to be able to dispatch someone at night. Most were quoting me $100 emergency fees, and then still proceeded to tell me they wouldn't come until Monday. Then I called Luis and James. They picked up. I told them my problem and they said they would be at my house in 1-2 hours. 45 minutes later they showed up and fixed my light for me quickly. No emergency fee. Just pleasant, honest work. And they actually charged me less than what my normal electrician was going to charge me if they came middle of next week.

I have 100% found my new electrician and will only be using Luis & James from now on. I am so thankful for how they treated me and solved my problem. Truly an honest and exceptional business.

Luis installed our 240v/60amp Tesla charging circuit for a fair price and did a wonderful job. 10/10, would recommend.

I had already left one review four years ago, but I’m leaving another. I had a horrible experience with a bathroom remodel and my lights wouldn’t turn on in my bathroom the night before my county inspection. Called and someone was sent out within the hour. Showed me what was wrong and how to fix it. Respectful, timely, responsive and highly recommend. Will be my go to electrician from here on out. You guys were a life savor. It’s so nice to know there’s honest people out in the world that are willing to help in a strangers time of need. Appreciate you so much!

I only have positive things to say about Luis and his company. I needed someone to come out the next day to give me a free estimate and he responded quickly and came on a Sunday to give me an estimate. After running through the repairs and his estimate with my HOA board, I explained we needed someone out asap to fix the wiring mix up with our hot water heaters. He came out on Saturday and corrected the problem. He wore a mask the whole time, booties on his shoes, cleaned up his mess and his pricing was extremely fair. To explain in short what he worked on- my condo unit and my next door neighbors water heater electrical lines were crossed. (Therefore, I was paying for their water heater and vise versa.) Luis explained the best and worst case scenario with me at the time of the estimate and the day of the work. He was able to correct the electrical lines and he also updated my disconnect box that wasn’t up to code. If I ever need a licensed electrician again I’ll be using Luis and his company. He was attentive to my scheduling and professional. I’d recommend them to anyone in need of an electrician! Thanks again Luis!

Had a good experience with Luis so far. Didn’t hear back for a little while so I did some digging, it appears he’s in ICE custody, so understandably he’s unable to get back to folks. :(

Really happy with the work of Luis & James. I was looking for reliable, fairly-priced, DC-based electricians that could help me run a line outdoors for an EV charger. They helped me navigate the DC permitting process, and did great work with the install. As more auto owners go EV, I encourage you to work with L&J to avoid the pump!

I greatly appreciate the services provided by Luis & James Electric. They did an excellent job replacing my bathroom outlet from 30A to 20A and ensured the necessary inspection from DCDB was completed. Luis was professional, efficient, and quick to resolve the issue. These people are great. It's a Saturday and was very overwhelmed by the installation of my ceiling fan after facing a ton of hurdles. Decided to call them and they came within the hour.

They quoted me $150 for the installation which included the install, travel costs and a 1 year guarantee.

Julio helped me install the ceiling fan and he was really fast. He had a young lady help him which made the process even faster.

Luis and James has excellent worker with great customer service we had a job done by Juan&Emilio we had electric keep shut off in three of our rooms and they came out in fixed it.Come home the next day and the lights when back out they come back out and troubleshoot the problem. What I really liked about Juan&Emilio they was consistent in finding out what the problem was and got to them bottom of the PROBLEM.

Wonderful and speedy service from Luis! I had a few broken circuit breakers in my apartment and he was able to fix them same day and provide lots of good information to help teach me about the problem. I will definitely reach out to him next time I have an electrical project!

This evening, my house in Baltimore had a random power outage of 1 electrical outlet in the kitchen, pot lights in the LR, 2 rear exterior lights, and my A/C unit and it was hot. I called few electrical companies until I reached Luis & James Electric LLC. I wanted the electrical issue fixed on the same day and calling Luis & James was the best decision I made. My technicians came late at night, put on their shoe coverings, and immediately started troubleshooting to figure out the problem. In less than 10 minutes, the technicians figure out what was causing the electrical problem-faulty wiring. They fixed it right away. I watched the entire process and was pleased with the work and customer service. My A/C is working better than it did before they came and apparently the wiring they fixed was a part of the problem. The cost and service were better than all of the other companies I called. I highly recommend Luis & James Electric LLC for your electrical needs.

10/10 experience. Submitted an email with a request to be contacted for an estimate to install a lighted vanity mirror in my bathroom. Got a response in a few days and they came out Saturday morning to do the estimate. Great attention to detail and super nice to work with. They gave me an exact quote for the installation of a new outlet and the mirror itself ($226), and said they could have the electrician out on Monday morning. Before he left, he called the electrician and said he could come today. Luis came by my place three hours later and did the install. I love the finished product and found the team extremely kind and professional. I would def recommend this team!

They aren't the kind of people that answer phones it seems. Been trying to speak to someone in literally any department, and I have been sent to voicemail each time. For the last 3 days.
