Excellent selection of shade plants. As good or better than Merrifield and better priced.

Good looking plants. Very healthy. Didn't get a chance to go inside. But I plan to go back.

Love everything there! People are knowledgeable and friendly, patient and kind! I drive up from Virginia because they have such a nice variety!

Great local hardware store and garden center!! Went in for yard waste bags and they have so much to offer in garden tools and plants! Fully stocked hardware store as well!

Fragers is but a shell of what it once was. Poor management has driven away all the institutional memory.

Recently a staff member was assault by a member of management team. She gave two weeks notice and was fired on the spot.

The general manager must have something over the owners. Nobody could be that blind to how this business has declined since the takeover.

A staple of the Capitol Hill neighborhood, people here wear t-shirts to show their love for Fragers. Kind, knowledgeable, and with great variety, it is a little more pricey then Home Depot but the service beats them all. Love this place!

I was really excited to check this place out because I’m trying to visit every plant store in DC. I left empty-handed. The plants were seriously dehydrated (wilted or brown and crunchy). There were humidifiers running so it seems like someone tried to do it right but the plants hadn’t been cared for in a while. The rare plant section was uncommon at best, nothing too interesting for serious plant collectors.

I adore Frager's! They have an excellent supply of all kinds of hardware needs, plus an excellent gardening center with all kinds of great indoor and outdoor plants. All the employees are super knowledgeable, kind, and eager to be helpful. I love having this store in my neighborhood and am grateful it has been around for so long.

I am grateful for this little garden center. They have a nice selection of vegetables, herbs and perennials, plus annual flowers, and supplies every year, well into the season, too, which is great when you need to fill in a few garden areas later in the summer. I have shopped here for now 3 years of gardening seasons and I have always been treated with warm customer service and quality plants. Will continue to do my garden shopping here.

I love the staff. 99.99 percent of the time they are helpful and pleasant. They carry a lot random things I need, and a few thing I didn't know I needed till I saw it! Super handy to get my DIY supplies

Stopped in to resupply my husband with things to help repot his carnivorous plants. We always get what we need here for various plant projects and then of course a little more than we really do need. Friendly, wonderful staff with safety regulations always in mind for busy days! Love Ginkgo's

When you’re at Ginko Gardens you feel like you’ve been transported to a serene utopia. Wonderfully curated selection of plants and gardens finds for all who love plants or at least hope to keep one alive. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about their products.

Title: Disappointing Experience at Ginko Gardens - Peace Lily Infested with Gnats

During my recent visit to Ginko Gardens, I purchased a peace lily plant only to discover it was infested with gnats. This experience was disappointing and raised concerns about the nursery's maintenance standards. I hope Ginko Gardens addresses this issue promptly to maintain their reputation for quality plants.

Beautiful selection of plants, I picked up a a few of my faves.

Unfortunately, the service was pretty...unfriendly. Not only were my wife and I ignored until we got to the register, we received heavy sighs and flat tones when we asked questions. The sales associates at the counter treated us like we were a burden. The store is small and packed tight, which I don’t mind, but there was an employee that made us feel like we were in the way while we were checking out plants, as if we, the customers were supposed to immediately get out of his way. “Excuse me” goes a very long way.

I’d love to go back; but I’d rather spend more money elsewhere than to made to feel uncomfortable while I’m shopping for plants.

Magical little shop. I stopped in to buy one snake plant on my way home from work and stayed for nearly an hour perusing all of the beautiful plants. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. I left with several plants, some new ceramic pots and a heap of knowledge about house plant species and care. Can't wait to return!

Large selection of indoor/outdoor plants, plant and gardening related items, and helpful and knowledgeable staff. They will pot your new or old plants for a small fee. It's a neighborhood staple and great place to stop for your plant needs. Parking can be a challenge, however, you can usually find a spot on 11th or I Street no more than a block away.

My girlfriend and I stopped by Gingko Gardens after some online searching of where to buy plants in DC. We’ve stopped by a few other chain stores and have purchased some plants, but I wish we came here first!

They have a diverse selection of plants, pots, supplies, etc. and everyone is so kind. Plus, there’s tons of cute stuff that make gifting a plant or just buying one for your home so easy and beautiful. I’ve never experienced such affordable pricing.

They’ll even repot the plant and pot you purchase for a small fee. Major shoutout to the woman who reported our new 5’5” tree in a 16 inch pot. I was about to do it in the Lowe’s parking lot, but she took care of it for us. We got this plant on sale and picked a pot (which happened to be discounted due to some chipping). In total we spent $150 on what would have been $300+ everywhere else.

If you’re looking to buy a plant, this is the spot.

Drove past this place once and said I’d have to go back. Well I did yesterday and it was so worth it. The staff was welcoming with the exception of a young lady working there. She wasn’t very polite but she did her job for the most part. There was a gentleman behind the register with longer hair and he was awesome! He answered all 100 questions I had lol and even carried a humongous bag of soil out the the sidewalk for us to put in our truck. I ended spending about $175 and it was worth every penny! Even got some bamboo ✨

A few caveats, it's higher priced than a big box store and it's a small business so there's limited inventory.

That said, what they do have is wonderful. I'm very picky and I found exactly what I wanted. Whoever does the ordering has great taste.

The people are knowledgeable and kind. They go well above and beyond.
I was nervous about repotting a plant and they helped me find the soil I'd need and talked me through how to do it. I definitely would have killed it had I not spoken to them.

The photo is my successfully repotted peace lily.

    I will absolutely go back.

This place is awesome, seems like every employee has good advice. One of my favorite businesses in the area I go there often and slowly my little apartment is getting filled up with beautiful foliage.

Have had several of their plants for months and they seem to be very healthy. Their prices are super fair. You can't really go wrong with Ginko Gardens!
