Started smelling something burning every time the dryer ran, shut it off immediately and didn't touch it again until someone could take a look. The technician came out, found lint had packed around the heating element and was scorching, and cleared the whole thing out. He also replaced a worn felt drum seal that was starting to go. Said another few weeks and it could have been a real problem. Glad I called when I did. These guys are thorough and don't cut corners.
