Had a high limit/thermostat let go on my restaurants Pitco fryer. Needed immediate attention. Went to the Pitco Website for recommended service companies in my area annd found them. Called them on Monday and explained the issue. The gentleman was knowledgeable and understood the part we needed. I was told they would be there to fix the next morning.
They sent a tech out Tuesday morning around 9:30 to see what parts were needed but did not attempt to fix the unit. (despite the fact the person who answered the phone knew the parts when we spoke on Monday.) the Tech said he would be back Wednesday Morning.
Wednesday, we waited all day and ran with one fryer (as a fried chicken restaurant, one could imagine the stress on the kitchen) The tech no call/no showed. I finally called the company at 4:30 and was told they would be there first thing in the morning on Thursday.
Thursday morning we waited until 10am to call the office again. (I understand how busy repair companies can be and didn’t want to be a pain) Still no tech. I called the office politely to ask for an ETA for peace of mind and so we could prep our kitchen for the Tech’s arrival (yet again). I was told he was in Needham and would be heading our way afterward. “Should be around 11:30/12pm”. I thanked him for the peace of mind.
12pm comes and goes. Finally, in fear of being a pain, I had my Kitchen Manager call at 2pm. The gentleman at the office told my KM, “there’s a chance we will make it out today”. My KM ultimately gave up and prepared to run yet another night with one fryer. At 3:30 I finally called the company one more time to cancel our appointment and find someone else.
I called a company recommended by a neighboring restaurant immediately afterward and explained my situation. The tech( who was also the owner) of the new company showed up first thing the next morning with the part and had us up and running before we opened at 11:30. He was kind, professional, empathetic, and reasonably priced despite knowing how desperate I was. I’ll never call anyone else.
DO NOT WASTE A MINUTE DEPENDING ON THIS COMPANY. HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION. ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. ZERO EMPATHY. ZERO INTEGRITY. ZERO PROFESSIONALISM.
