I can't say enough about Akian. I live in an 150 year old house that has gone through many changes over the years. As a result, heating/plumbing problems are not always easy to diagnose.

When my tenant's unit dropped to 44 degrees, I discovered Aiken. They were able to come out the next morning during the coldest month of the year.

Matt quickly diagnosed the problem and offered a practical solution to resolve the issue. He clearly knows his stuff and explained everything in clear, easy to understand terms.

I was able to resolve the problem and will certainly be relying on Aiken for any and all future issues. Thanks, Matt!

Mike G did our fall annual inspection and maintenance for our HVAC system. We had Akian install it just a year prior, so we were not expecting any surprises. But Mike was able to give me some tips for maintenance throughout the year. I’ve had issues with other local companies speaking down to me as woman when they did service and maintenance and try to needlessly upsell me on fixes and services. I have absolutely never experienced that with Akian and their employees. I will continue to recommend them to everyone.

Today, Carlos came to our home to review our furnace issues. He was very detail oriented and documented everything he saw. He did a number of tests before he came to a conclusion.He kept me informed as things turned up. He then apprised my wife and I of our options. I would have zero hesitations about having him return for other issues. Plus he was a real pleasant guy to work with.

EDIT: Owner replied to my review and is completely lying about not quoting me $5k-30k to replace both systems. The technician clearly gave me two options, one was $5k and the other was $30k for a full replacement. He also called my cell phone and wanted to talk more, but there’s nothing to talk about as I won’t be using them again.

Had a horrible experience and do not recommend this company to anyone. Scheduled an appointment to get my two HVAC systems tuned up. Should be basic maintenance. Technician comes in and first off, he kept using my bathroom about four times so that was off putting that he stunk up my bathroom. Next, he said I need to replace BOTH of my systems as they are cracked (whatever that means) and quotes me at $30,000. Who has that kind of money laying around??? He did give an alternative option for $5k which is still outrageous. He refused to turn my gas back on because it could be a “liability” to the company. Seriously??? I have CO2 monitors in my house and would have died by now if my systems were truly broken and leaking gas into my house. He made ME turn the systems back on myself, I have never heard of any company that refused to turn the system back on and make the customer do it. Crazy. He kept insisting I need to use them for either the $5k or $30k option, but I finally got him to leave and paid the $500 fee. I had another company come over the following week and they told me both my HVAC systems look great and no issues. This company tried to swindle me with coercion of not turning my system on. Seems almost criminal to me, but I let it go and am writing this review instead to warn others. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! Not sure how they have so many good reviews.

Andrew did a great job installing new sink hardware and a garbage disposal and additional work to replace a valve. Very knowledgeable and explained the process/discussed pricing before he began the work. I would use them again for any future plumbing jobs!

Had an extremely positive experience. They were running a boiler servicing deal so I gave them a chance. They were on time and very communicative by phone. A two person team arrived who were totally professional and took the time to explain what they were doing and answer all my questions. Did a good job of cleaning up after as well. I’ll use them again for sure. Only issue was they rescheduled twice due to other emergency calls coming up, but I cant blame them for that having needed one or two of those myself before. In both cases they let me know several hours ahead of time.

Carlos came by to investigate a ventilation issue I was having. He was great to work with and took his time to assess and come up with possible solutions. Very polite and punctual, and courteous to giving time to think through the courses of action prior to choosing to book a service.

Carlos saved us on the night before a mega-snow storm when it was a “Feels like” temperature of 1°F. He was well versed with our ecobee thermostat and heat pump, checked the condenser, opened up the heat pump panel to diagnose issues with heat. He stayed with us until he was certain heat was on and increasing and we would be ok through the night and into the week. He was kind and explained what he was doing and what the problem was in a way that helped us understand our system better.

I hired Akian some months ago regarding a sewage backup problem in my basement. It was clear that the "technician" who came knew very little about the actual issue. He reiterated again and again there was a service fee just for showing up. Once we got that settled, he immediately suggested we get a camera down the main sewage drain to see what might be at issue.

What the "technician" didn't share with me was that Akian subcontracted the job to a third party, which wasn't a professional outfit at all (the lead foreman kept suggesting I make a massive insurance claim so that his crew could lay a few feet of new pipe and I could pocket a few grand - The lead foreman even invited a good friend insurance adjuster to my house without my consent to explain the scam! Of course, it was a hard pass). To make matters worse, Akian charged me $800 on the spot for the camera inspection when the lead foreman showed me they were getting paid $500 for the job. So, Akian pocketed $300 for making a simple call and putting me in the hands of a second-rate outfit.

In the end, I went with another plumber who diagnosed the issue in 15 minutes: a root ball in the sewage drain. He jetted it out in no time.

NEVER doing business with Akian again. Terrible experience.

Akian Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling was excellent. I woke up New Year’s day to no heat. They were able to respond early the next morning to repair the problem.
Vinny was prompt, courteous, and professional while explaining everything he was doing. He had us back up and running very quickly.
I would highly recommend Akian P, H, and C.

Just had my two heating systems maintained by Akian and I am very satisfied with their service. Malik C has done a great job indeed. He is very knowledgeable. After carefully going through all the required checks, he very patiently and humbly answered every singly question I had raised.

Everyone on the Akian team who worked on the replacement of my HVAC system was great: pleasant to work with, great problem solvers, and willing to go above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchase and the quality of the installation. I would recommend Akian without reservation. Zack, the installer was very thorough, and Michael resolved some issues so that I got the system I wanted.

We worked with Akian to get our electrical panel upgraded. Great work all around - Mike went above and beyond in getting things scheduled and Chris “Eminem” M completed the panel upgrade with no problems. Highly recommend Akian for their great service and attention to detail.

Additional update - worked with George A to get our gas dryer installed as well. Similar to our other experiences, great service all around!

It’s a pleasant experience meeting with technician Matt this morning. He is prompt and polite. He gave us professional opinion on our boiler status, and recommended a tankless heating system Though he cannot render any repair service today because probably my gas boiler has already served its lifespan.

All around excellent customer service. A very pleasant experience. Manny did a great job assessing our situation and explaining our options. Zach and TJ were skilled professional installers and courteous; great representatives of Akian.

Carlos was knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. The furnace has been on the fritz during a serious cold snap, and it’s our first winter as homeowners. He explained everything well and recommended steps to take without pushing for additional service. Will definitely call Akian again!

Update: the day after Mike came to service our heat pump, our kitchen sink broke. George A. came to fix it and did a great job both explaining our options and showing us the problem and how he repaired it. Both he and Mike were great to work with.

Mike G did a great job servicing our heat pumps. He explained and showed what he was doing, provided multiple options, and was overall friendly and knowledgeable.

My needed service was to swap the old Bosch gas dryer with the new gas GE dryer/washer combo, and move the old appliances from 2nd to 1st floor. I selected Akian based on the 5 star reviews but I am giving it a 1 star. I was very detailed in my request and decribed fully where the new appliance was (2nd floor) and where the old appliances are going (washer to the curb, dryer to the basement). I also requested an initial cost estimate over the phone, but was told it was not possible to give price over the phone , b/c 'every job is different'. The 2-person team upon arrival informed me that they are 'not allowed' to move appliances downstairs, so it was frustrating that my detailed job description was totally ignored. Then they gave the quote of $770 to swap the two gas connections, and that was after applying the $100 first time customer discount, which means you would be paying $870. I didn't accept this quote b/c it sounds overpriced. They could have told me this price over the phone and save their time and my time. Based on Chat GPT, average cost of such job is up to $300 in MA. On the positive side, the team was on time, and curteous and respectful, and I was not charged for this non-service.

The experience was great. The 2 technicians were very friendly and professional. They took the time to explain what they wre going to do, and also my options for installation. The faucet was replaced, new shut off valves as well. Will hire again and i really appreciated all the work!!

Zach (and Mike assisting) were terrific. In addition to installing a new humidifier (not "bargained" for). They were prompt, efficient and patient with our lack of knowledge how the heater worked and all of the questions that we had. Top notch!! So it wasn't really an installation of a.hot water installation but a transition and upgrade of our system. Whatever....A positive expereince
with a friendly and knowledge experience. Thanks for helpping us out!
