Frg was an excellent contractor for the historical restoration of the Upton Center schoolhouse built circa 1850, now the Upton Grange. New roofing including removal of a 100 year old rotating ventilator, new roof deck sheathing, flashing and repointing the chimney. Repairs and replacement of sills damaged by termites and ants. Restoration of 15% of the cedar clipboards. Replacement of historic crown moldings at the eaves and soffit. Reconstruction of corner plasters and moldings. The insulated several areas that were opened during the sill repairs that was not included in the contract at no extra cost.
They used a subcontractor to repaint the exterior in its original 1850 colors. This contractor was meticulous and thorough. He painted window sills, metal fire escape and all trim and siding, filled and caulked extensively and his work was at the highest level of excellence.
Frg removed and built a new pressure treated handicap ramp where they had several design and layout issues which was caused by a lack of supervision. All work was finished properly and professionally.
They maintained a schedule and met all dates they committed to. They have their own dumpster truck and removed all debris promptly including debris from an attic clean out at no extra cost.
There prices were very competitive and we highly recommend them.

FRG provides excellent service at a fair price. Their project managers keep you updated and the site workers are very good and professional. I have used them on 4 separate occasions. On one occasion they did some extra painting at no additional cost just so that everything looks uniform!

I would definitely recommend FRG. They did a great job in a timely manner. In my experience working with contractors, communication can be an issue but not the case here, they were very communicative which I really appreciated.

I would not recommend to hire FRG to do your roof!!!

In summer 2023 FRG came to redo the roof drain cap which was never installed properly at the first place by them back in Feb 2019. The roof has leaked every year since then and had 3-4 repairs.

In April 2024, the roof drain clogged again(we have no trees around). The roof rain water seeped through under the roof drain compression ring, then flew down to the outside the drain pipe directly into the first floor bathroom wall and the basement floor.

Fabio blame the leak caused by the drain pipe itself, not the roof. The drain pile has no integrity issue simply because after the roof drain debris cleared, the water leak has not occurred unless there is a heavy rain. And this only happened after FRG reinstalled the drain cover in summer of 2023.

To make the situation even worse, Fabio send me a $600+ bill for climbing up to the roof to check the leak and clearing the roof debris showed in the photo. But the roof leak is not fixed!
I am a 30+ year real estate professional and have referred him a few jobs in the past. Sorry Fabio, not a job end up like this.
