This spring I hired Wollaston Development to install a patio, irrigation system and landscape lighting in my backyard. The entire process was delightful. The install team was professional, skilled and courteous. I really enjoyed every aspect of the design process and the finished product exceeded my expectations. I would thoroughly recommend Mike and the Wollaston Development team!

Wollaston totally designed my backyard from just grass to a work of art landscape oasis. The people were all great to work with and they took pride in what they accomplished. I am now making use of my backyard that flows well into the conservation land behind it. There is a running water feature, lighting, drip irrigation, and ornamental trees and plants. I can’t wait to see the color in the Spring. I highly recommend Wollaston!
Update: I expressed concern about where sprinklers were watering, and that same afternoon, Zach came out and adjusted everything. Great response!

Love Mike and his team! They just did a bunch of landscaping work, and I know it was quite involved and they hit some challenges. The work involved clearing and leveling a challenging space that had stubborn tree stumps, root system, rocks, etc. they installed new shrubs, beds, did a slight extension of my patio, and added to the landscape with some decorative boulders. And of course topped it all off with wood chips. It all looks fantastic. There were unexpected challenges, but I love how Mike and his folks proactively communicated along the way and were very patient and receptive to figuring out the best ways forward. And I appreciated the attention to detail down to the precise placement of each boulder. One of the best things is Mike's involvement - he's definitely not a hands off guy, so he's aware of the work going on and very involved. his crew is also friendly and great to work with. Two thumbs up :)

Mike and his team did an awesome job for us. We compared many companies and many quotes and Mike was definitely the guy who most seemed willing to work with us on budget and still get us the finish we wanted. And they did not disappoint. All his guys are great; Hardworking, honest and pleasant to have on your property. Mike himself stopped by almost every day and always took time to talk through with me any changes or finishes.
We had Wollaston do both hardscape: driveway and patio and the grass and plantings. When the job was finished almost every neighbor (and I few strangers on the street) stopped us to tell us how absolutely beautiful it is!

I very rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled after this experience. I hired Wollaston Development at the end of 2023 to install a large patio with outdoor kitchen including a fire pit and it was a frustrating mess from start to finish. The communication was terrible to start and the final product was over promised and under delivered. I had to follow up multiple times just to get basic updates and address workmanship concerns.

The work was obviously rushed and sloppy. Uneven stones, poor drainage, irrigation lines were cut and not reconnected, exterior lighting consistently malfunctioning, overall substandard work. All of which the homeowner should not have to bring to a quality contractor’s attention to make right. Hiring a contractor to build a $70,000 outdoor living space, then ultimately having to outsource and hire secondary contractors like irrigation professionals and electricians to fix the work does not sit well.

To top it off, when I expressed my concerns, I was met with defensiveness and excuses rather than any real effort to fix the problems. Hiring this company for small jobs like walkways might be reasonable, but I cannot recommend them for larger projects.

Mike and his team were awesome. My yard has been transformed beyond my expectations. I gave them a general idea of what I liked and let them run with it. They turned my vision into something incredible. I love it. Crew was friendly and professional and took great care of my property. I will hire them again.

We were thrilled and continue to be happy with the work we had done by Wollaston Development. Mike and his crew did an amazing job refreshing our landscaping and installing a bluestone paver sitting area for the front of our house. The team delivered sooner than we had anticipated and helped us make the house my partner and I purchased into our home, adding considerable curb appeal. Mike took the time to help us select appropriate shrubs and flowers, and his crew was diligent and meticulous in their work. Look no further for reliability, a keen eye to detail and taste, and at a reasonable cost.

After years of moderate success at best at growing my lawn, as well as endlessly  dragging a sprinkler across it, my wife and I decided to upgrade to sod w/ a  sprinkler system. We also decided to replace two walkways. Not knowing where to turn, I took the advice of a colleague of mine and contacted Mike Pallone w/ Wollaston Development. From the moment I met Mike, I knew he was the person we wanted to work with. Mike was prompt w/ every appointment we had. Gave constructive advice on decisions that needed to be made, as well as proposing a fair price. Mike delivered on all fronts w/ no revisions or drama. Mike's team consisting of Zack, Juan, Rubin and Andy were professional, courteous, and worked really well together. We are very happy with the completed project, and without a doubt, highly recommend Mike and his team for anyone considering a landscaping project.

We worked closely with Mike and Wollaston to transform our unfinished back yard space into our dream space. Throughout the process, Mike listened to our hopes and ideas, proposed thoughtful and creative options, and helped us settle on great choices from the hard scaping down to the sod choice. Working with Mike was a top notch experience, with high attention to detail, constant touch points, excellent responsiveness, complete flexibility for minor adjustments along the way as we thought of new things, and complete transparency on costs. We even got to go shopping for plants together. Now, instead of a raw space, we have our own little universe custom fit to our needs. We wanted to keep the majority of the space as open grass, for young kids to play, but we also wanted spaces for dining and lounging and new spaces for planting, all in a modest-sized yard. With Mike's help, we landed on a beautiful natural cleft, full color bluestone for hardscaping that curves around the house to create a natural, unique feel, irrigation to minimize manual upkeep on the lawn, electrical outlet access exactly where we want it, and spaces carved out for a sectional outdoor couch and a new tree. When I look at it, I'm just extremely pleased and grateful to have this yard where we just had patchy grass before. Work was done in good time and on budget. As a bonus, all of the folks Wollaston brought in to help with the project were wonderful as well. We'll be calling Mike and Wollaston for future projects and recommending him to friends.

Mike and the entire crew at Wollaston Development were excellent to work with for my project to build a custom bluestone patio, including stair work, drainage solutions, and leveling. From the start of the consultation process, Mike showed he was incredibly knowledgeable but not rigid, listening to my ideas and coming up with creative solutions that meet my aesthetic criteria and budget. During the build, his team was incredibly professional, always showed up on time, provided me with walkthroughs and updates, and kept the project as tidy as possible at the end of the day. The team was very open to my feedback and showed great flexibility and care to make sure I was happy with the result. Mike also was very true to budget and exceeded expectations on the speed of the project. Whether you are looking to fully outsource design or partner with someone to achieve a specific vision, I would highly, highly recommend hiring Wollaston and definitely plan to work with Mike again in the future.

They took my tired-looking home and gave it a major glow-up: beautiful landscaping, a smart irrigation system, and a functional & stunning paver patio that’s perfect for get-togethers or relaxing. They also applied white stucco, which turned out phenomenal and instantly modernized the exterior and made it feel charming.

Wollaston Development installed the entirety of our home’s landscaping including a bluestone patio, multiple planting beds, over a dozen trees, hundreds of shrubs and small plants, an irrigation system, as well as assorted yard cleanup. Every interaction with Mike, Zac, and the entire team was phenomenal - they are a highly professional crew that works quickly and efficiently. Tibbets mowed our lawn, always did an awesome job and were very reliable.

Please stop using polluting noisy leaf blowers. They are damaging to the environment. Also you start at 7:30 AM in Arlington and supposed to at least wait until 8AM. I have to close all my windows to keep the fumes out. It’s disgusting.
