I MUST rate both my Purchase and Installation experience with Modern Energy - 5 STARS!!!

My 20-year-old Fujitsu Mini-Split Air Conditioner was a big old 22,000 BTU relic, the size of a commercial unit that was surface mounted on the ceiling in a large L-shaped room above my garage, for years it worked awesome. Unfortunately, it finally reached its end-of-life and needed to be replaced

The Sale and Purchase Experience:

I have a challenging space because of slanted ceilings and baseboard heating, I have very little wall or floor space, and it is an L-shaped room. The optimum solution would be to replace it with another ceiling unit; however, they no longer make a surface mount model like the unit I was replacing (BTW, my new flush mount ceiling cassette is hardly visible, and it looks great).

I received a quote from another company that installed and services my other existing Mitsubishi Mini-Splits in my downstairs living area – the quote about gave me a heart attack! Not to mention the quality of the work they have performed for me has been mostly substandard and overly frustrating. The quote was so high I was seriously considering just putting in window units, which are loud, less efficient, and much more inconvenient - I just could not justify the quote they gave me.

I then reached out to Modern Energy, and from the start my experience with Ryan was like a breath of fresh air. Instead of quoting me what the other company proposed, two floor units that would circulate air around the short section of each L in the room (i.e. not very efficient or cost effective), Ryan quoted me a one-way ceiling cassette that mounts flush in the ceiling and pushes the air across the length of the room (same as my old unit that worked awesome), at a much more reasonable cost compared to the quote from the other company. BTW, the other company did mention ceiling cassettes; however, they said because of the installation labor, it would be more expensive than their quote for floor units (that’s right – more expensive than the quote that almost gave me a heart attack!).

After doing my research, I signed the Modern Energy quote, and an installation date was set.

The Installation Experience:

The Modern Energy installation team arrived on-time, on-schedule, and they performed a professional installation that looks awesome and works great! Now it doesn’t always go perfectly smooth, and there were a couple hiccups, but they were both solved perfectly and without any hassle or aggravation on my part.

Here’s to hoping my ongoing experience with Modern Energy is equally satisfying and professional. Based on my purchase and installation experience, I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY, recommend Modern Energy to my family and friends.

Recently, I had done the installations of five mini splits in my house. I am very, very happy about everything Cesar, the salesman that took care of my needs, he’s bilingual and did a very good job helping and understanding me. The splits works very good. I love the result. I am saving money in my electric bill definitely and, I highly recommend it. It was a wonderful experience with the crew too, and they installed Mitsubishi equipment, the splits Mitsubishi compressor. another person that came to my house especialices in this matter said, that I have the best one in the market, that those matchings are the best one in the market, so I’m very happy about that , I’m saving money in my electric bill plus , well confortable at home, thanks.

Jay, Jose M, Jose C and Tim treated my home as if it were their own. Kept me updated on progress, a clean workspace, and had great attention to detail.

It’s hard to find companies with employees who care about the quality of their work but this crew certainly does.

Thoroughly professional! Showed up when they said they would, finished when they said they would. System seems to be working well, and they cleaned up completely. They also did a very neat job, with things lined up, etc. Caulked everything. Explained everything, and answered questions. I can't think of a single complaint. I recently had six mini splits installed by Ryan Scalley and his team at Modern Energy, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Modern energy did a fantastic job installing mini splits in my home. Sales reps Brian and Andrew helped make the process simple and easy. Will and Nick were the installers, and did a great job! They pushed through the extreme heat to get it done. Joe and Jordan were the electricians. They upgraded the panel. We had Modern Energy install our entire Heat-pump System in our Home. My wife and I have had so much work over the years done in our home but have never been more impressed with the Work the crew from Modern Energy performed. They are very Professional and work neat and clean and the work is second to none. Every crew member came in and did their job with a Polite and Professional Attitude. Will, from Modern Energy, came to do a routine service call on our mini splits and brought to our attention that the inside coils were dirty. We decided "Preventive Maintenance" was a good idea.

He carefully wrapped plastic around the unit so when spraying the coils the water did not splash all over the place. You cannot believe just how dirty the water was from ONE mini split !!

We are doing a renovation and had Kyle and Graham from Modern Energy do the work. They were prompt, polite and very efficient, neat and clean. The work was done yesterday June 28th. Thank you very much Kyle and Graham.

Brandon C, Stan and the rest of the folks actively working on site were great and are the reason for a five star review. They were efficient and answered all of my question, even ones that were just pure curiosity on my part.

Even when we asked for a later start time due to the sleeping newborn, they were understanding and accommodating.

The on site workers really carry the team and have the best customer service.

The mini splits and new water heater work (so far) flawlessly. The removal of the old oil equipment was removed with zero mess.

I was extremely satisfied with Modern Energy. They were great to work with and their installation of our mini splits exceeded my expectations!
I want you all to know how great Dave and Aaron were installing the new mini splits. They were very professional, personable and respected our property inside and out. They cleaned up as they went along.
They explained everything very clearly upon completion of the job.

Just got our system checked out and cleaned by Will and Noah. These guys are masters of their craft. Still 5 stars and still highly recommended.

Modern Energy recently helped me complete a full home heating and cooling upgrade through the Mass Save Heat Loan program. A process that took over three months from start to finish. From the initial consultation and energy audit to the loan application, insulation work, system design, and final installation, it was a long and sometimes confusing process.

Thankfully, Modern Energy had specialists guiding me through every step. I worked with about ten different people from the company, and every single one of them was professional, respectful, and attentive. They listened to my concerns and made sure the job was done right.

Although the project was originally scheduled for three days, the team came back for two additional days just to ensure everything was perfect.

I couldn’t be happier with the final result and would highly recommend Modern Energy to anyone considering a home energy upgrade.

Top notch! I recently had a Mitsubishi mini split heat pump system installed and could not be happier with the service. The job took three days to install the compressor and four head units for my home. At one point, Modern Energy had what seemed to be three crews working on this install. My wife and I were VERY impressed with their professionalism, skill of install, and overall knowledge of the system. I missed a couple of names (sorry guys), but I'd like to thank Anthony, Brayden, Chris, Jeremy, Jeff and Lori for making this such a pain free process from start to finish. The system works great, they gave me a 12 year warranty, and the assurance that they'll be there for us should we have any problems, questions, or concerns. Of the many home improvement projects over the years, this team of professionals have been some of the finest I have experienced. Thank you Modern Energy!

The customer support is great and fast. Brain who was the first person I met, walked me through options and step by step of getting the needed paperwork to get going. Brian even went above and beyond and helped me with the HOA piece as well. Lori in the office is so sweet and great at getting information to the team so I didn't have to contact multiple parties. I had three people who did the 5-zone installation, and Jimmy and JV were just amazing. Jimmy was so professional and well spoken, I was impress with not only his work in the trade but how he conducted himself when interacting with me. JV also great, he was kind, and apologized for any misunderstanding. In addition, he made sure that end of each day the house was really cleaned up. Jimmy and JV were so trusting, professional, and kind. I also need to shout out the two electricians, Ryan and Jordon. These guys were very meticulous when going through the electrical compents. They were making sure I felt good about everything and informed me in terms I could understand of what they did and what that all meant. I really have to say Lori, Brian, Jimmy, JV, Ryan, and Jordon made this project that induced allot of aniexty on me, to be relaxing and easy on my end. Thank you Modern Energy

Horrible company. Complete lack of communication from the moment I signed up to now 1 1/2 year later. System was $38,000 in an upscale rental house I own. I asked for updates during installation. None. I live 1700 miles away. There was a problem with Mass Sav rebate of $10,000. Only part of it was sent. I asked Jeff to follow up on it to which he replied “There is no possible scenario that that could happen.” I sent him supporting documentation but no help at all. I asked a few times for a hard copy of manual and warranty. Nothing.
The house is vacant now so I asked them to clean and maintain the system. I know. My bad. $375 and I’ve emailed about the condition and what was done. And I called. No response.
I was left with three dirty filter and told I needed to get them. Read the bottom of invoice.
Still have no idea about what was done. Still no paper work except for the paid bills.
The Mass Sav plan is great but just stay away from this.company. Particularly Ed and Jeff.

Modern Energy just finished up a job at our house installing 4 mini splits and I can’t say enough wonderful things about them and their work! Timely, professional, organized, tidy, and high quality work! Highly recommend them to anyone requiring services. Matt and Yahir were amazing all week and also exceptional work from Will, Eric, Brandon D and Jeff. Morden energy did a fantastic job installing 4 heat pumps Dan sat down with me and explained how the system works and how the installation will be done. My installation Crew Nick and Tito were fabulous,hard working, very courteous. They covered and cleaned up everything they were great team.
