Initial calls with office was professional and great. I was offered same day installation which is great, but couldn't take advantage of due to work. I was then told Monday 12-3. I explained that I have to work and asked about Tuesday because I was off. I was asked what time I had to work Monday because they could come earlier. Great, I told them I had to leave between 1:00-1:30, at the latest. So I was given a 9-11or 12 timeframe and told she would let them know to aim for closer to 9. I get a call at 8:30 on Monday to confirm and told he should arrive between 9-10 or 10-30. So around 1015 an elderly gentleman man arrives ( withask but no show covers) and I think to myself I wonder if he'll be able to carry the toilet upstairs. To sum up the first day from 10:15-2p (yes over the time I specified), he has to make 2 trips to the hardware store and then tells me he'll be back later to remove old toilet because he needs to bring a dolly. And yes he did struggle getting the toilet upstairs. I was praying he didn't fall and hurt himself. Not only did he not come back, he didn't even call to say he wasn't coming back. I called the office the next morning to inquire about him and about him caulking around the toilet which I noticed he didn't do. After getting a call back from the office to say he worked late the night before, he's on the way, he shows up 1.5hrs later. He comes in with a large garbage bag, a dolly, and my mail 🙄 because he noticed I didn't get it. He goes upstairs and gets to work. I hear him coming downstairs. Once he gets in my living room I walk in there and see he's dragging the toilet across my floor. It's not on a dolly and not in the trash bag. There are white scuff marks and drips of water on my hardwood floor. I immediately ask, "is my carpet wet?!" 🤬 He says no, that he emptied it in the garbage bag he brought. He then goes upstairs, gets the bag and proceeds to now put the toilet on top of it. After he leaves, I call the office to complain. Kristine is again very nice and apologetic, explaining that's not how it's supposed to be done and that it was probably too heavy for him. Also she said that they probably should have sent one of the younger guys out. She said she would call the owner and get back with me. She texts (always a bad sign when they go from calling to texting) me hours later to say that they will have my carpet cleaned and to let her know a good time. I reply. Next day she replies that someone will be out the next day to clean the area. I ask for a timeframe, no response. I text again the next morning. She finally says he's picking up the cleaner and headed to me. By this time I see that the toilet is leaking and the caulk job is horrible. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Do you know they sent the SAME elderly man to come clean my carpet?! He then tries to explain that the water was clean that spilled?! 😂 Sir, if you pour clean water into a dirty toilet, it is no longer clean. Plus I can promise underneath that toilet wasn't clean! And you dragged it down my carpeted stairs, family room and scuffed my hardwood floor. He then proceeds to fix the leak and clean the carpet in my family room. I'm irritated more now and say well can I take it upstairs and clean it myself. He finally say, I'll do it. He still didn't do the stairs, just the landing. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I was over it and just done. No f/u call or text like after the first day to ask about satisfaction. I was referred to this company and had already referred them to another family member based off the compliments I heard. I went back and told them to go with someone else. I have other work that I need done and had someone else came out to rectify this issue properly I would have continued using their service. Hopefully they know now to maybe send this gentleman on 2 person jobs or jobs that don't require heavy lifting.

We were afraid our plumbing issue was going to be a big & frightfully expensive job, but once we called Calhoun Plumbing, we quickly discovered it was a much easier fix.
Mr Calhoun was not only communicative & professional, he was respectful of our home & went above & beyond our expectations.

This company is Highly recommended!!! I had the most difficult problem with my water and pipes, not only was the issue fixed properly and professionally, but the price quoted was awesome! They are Efficient and a problem solver, will go to great lengths to get the job done!! Finally got a descent plumbing service.

I can't imagine a worse plumbing company exists. Our contractor used these guys as a subcontractor for our house renovation and they screwed up pretty much everything they touched. They installed two showers incorrectly so water came down the backside of the wall, installed a toilet that leaked, installed a tub drain that leaks a ton, installed a faucet drain that didn't pass inspection and then couldn't find the problem (it leaked) when they came back. Most of the poor work was done by one guy who we asked them to stop sending but they kept sending, but the owner also did some shoddy work. They showed up late or not at all many days and often would leave "for parts" for like 4 hours. They were by far the worst contractors we've ever dealt with and didn't even seem to realize they were doing things badly. Do not use them.

DO NOT HIRE! The plumber showed up at my house without confirming a time with us beforehand. He charged us $95 to plunge our drain and was there for a total of 5 minutes tops. They only allow Zelle payments (which take 1-3 days) and then called me several times to ask why they hadn’t received the money yet, when it hadn’t even been 24 hours since the service. When they called for the 4th time (still less than 24 hours after service) I cancelled the payment and tried another transaction, hoping it would go through quicker. When they didn’t receive the payment they showed up on my front porch!!! No phone call, no notice, just came over unannounced like they were loan sharks. Very unprofessional. Very inappropriate.

Calhoun does a great job at a fair price. They also really know the neighborhoods in NW Detroit and the issues specific to the area. Worked with us through a major plumbing issue in an older home and stood behind their work to make sure everything was right, even months down the line. Highly recommended.

Starting with Miss. Kristine , she was so charming and a delight to talk to. She answered the phone with a smile which you could see through the phone. Scheduled same day appt and Dan showed up promptly. He was so nice and pleasant. Took care of the problem within the hour. He was actually smiling while snaking the toilet. Who does that? 😄 Highly recommend!

I dont usually post reviews but the service from beginning to end was great! From the moment i talked to Chris to the service guys was all on point. Ive found my plumber and i wont be going anywhere else. They are knowledgeable and fair pricing! If you need plumbing services call Calhoun 's.

I have given Mr. Calhoun so many opportunities and so much time to fix this issue, and this review is my last resort.

On July 25th, 2023, Calhoun Plumbing sent a plumber to my home, and he crossed over yellow caution tape onto my freshly poured concrete walkway and porch. Stunned when I answered the door, I asked why he stepped over the tape and walked on my fresh concrete, especially since I gave the office the instructions to call when he got there and I could let him in through the garage. He smiled and said, "It's ok! I tested to see if it was dry." It wasn't ok- it hadn't fully cured and he made footprints up the entire surface.

Instead of paying my condo association to have it redone, he insisted on sending over some (still unidentified) concrete contractor to take a look at it who DEMOLISHED MY NEW PORCH without notice.

Despite this, I was assured the replacement porch would be even better than the first- nope. It has 2 big cracks, wasn't sealed properly, wasn't color matched, It's now August 23rd, and neither Mr. Calhoun nor his employee Kristine are responding to me.

Mr. Calhoun, I've been trying to resolve this with you for over a year now, with an incredible amount of patience and grace. This is an unreasonable amount of time, and this is not an honorable way to do business. Please contact me ASAP and when this is resolved, I will remove this review.

I would highly recommend this company! Very professional and thorough with their work. I called on a Monday, Mr Calhoun came out on Tuesday and by Wednesday the work I needed done was completed. This company is very affordable and have the best rates by far! Please call for all your plumbing services!

I just wanted to thank Calhoun Plumbing and their plumber for the great work last night! Was a little late but well worth the wait! Not only did he fix the problem but found the problem and friendly and professional an the price was fair. I will definitely be recommending their services an a big plus to the guys for coming to my area in Detroit because some plumbing companies won't come! Awesome experience

I’d give them 10 stars if I could. I had a serious emergency with extensive repairs needed before gas could go on and people could have heat in February. They went so above and beyond and did extensive work at a moments notice, at such a fair price and really saved the day in a bad situation. They were understanding, professional, human, and reliable. Highly recommended and so glad I found them

Had a leaking sink/pipe. Technician couldn’t even locate the leak, i was able to find it myself. Wanted to rip out my cabinets and redo a vent for 1400$, very pushy. Turns out the pipe was clogged with old sponge, vent is already in place , got the sink snaked and problem solved. They never suggested even taking the pipes apart. Very unimpressed and would not recommend.

Calhoun's Plumbing did a great job. Diagnosed the situation advise me of what needed to be done to correct the problem. The office manager coordinated all parties necessary to complete the project. They were competitively priced. The owner came out to review the completed j9b.

This company provided fast & excellent service from the moment I spoke to Kristine on the phone. Jamal did an EXCELLENT job finding all the leaks & repairing them. Everyone was pleasant, kind & thorough. Mr. Calhoun followed up personally. Not only was the service prompt & extremely competent, it was also very fairly priced! I could not have been more pleased with my experience

I hired this company to install a gas line to my Kohler backup generator.The guys showed up and were very professional and paid attention to specifications required by the manufacturer when installing a gas line to my generator this meant a lot to me. The price was reasonable and the job was completed in a decent amount of time

Called their team with a none urgent mater and on the weekend and they made the effort to call me back the same day.
Next day, their guy was over and had my plumbing issue resolved. One of the best prices I found around and great communication with the client :
- Replied to both texts and phone to keep us updated on the plumbers way over
- Snaking for 150USD vs bigger groups that charged our neighbours 500USD last year for a similar issue.

I called Calhoun Plumbing in a frantic to get a brick removed from a cleanout. They provided an estimate in a timely manner and got the job done. They are my go to plumbing company and they don’t charge ridiculously high prices like other plumbing companies. The owner came to the job site to make sure the job was executed properly!

Super dependable company, Service was fast, prices were extremely reasonable, great team of extremely knowledgeable contractors, and Customer service is also top tier!! Highly recommend
